Luke 1:46-55; Luke 2:29-32.There is a strong and enduring relationship that has been forged between the Roman Catholic Benedictine Abbey of St. Mary and St. Louis, and the Episcopal Church of St. Michael & St. George in St. Louis, Missouri. Each season, the monks visit and sing Vespers at the church and, in turn, the Choir of the Church of St. Michael & St. George travels to the Abbey to sing Evensong. This setting of the evening canticles was composed for one such visit.
