Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138826). Impukane the Fly is the fourteenth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Impukane the fly is overjoyed. Engulfed in the mud at a waterhole at Mkuzi in Zululand, an old warthog is taking a nap; unknowingly becoming the perfect target for the fly with his irritating demeanor. Whirring around the warthog’s nose, trotting on his eyelids and creeping into his ears, Impukane annoys the animal until it jumps up furiously, trying to catch it between his teeth. Darting away with high agility, the fly manages to stay out of range while circling around the warthog’s head, annoying him even more. After many unsuccessful attempts to hunt down the insect, the warthog backs off and buries himself in the mud again to find some peace, but it is of no use. Joined by another fly, Impukane continues to pester him; soon a whole crowd of fluttering bugs whizz past his ears. Finally, the poor old warthog decides to flee for good, and dizzy from the continuous buzzing noises around his head, he heads off into the bushes with a loud and angry snort..

Intshe the Ostrich is the eighth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Intshe the old ostrich is in a very good mood. Walking through the South African fields surrounding Oudtshoorn, he comes across a narrow road leading to a desolated farmyard where a lot of delicious junk is waiting to be explored. He sees two ancient metal spoons and swallows it; then he gulps down an empty beer bottle, an old, broken wristwatch and a few shiny metal pieces. On his way back to the fields, he adds two round stones to his collection of strange, edible things. Feeling extremely happy after the gourmet meal, he starts moving around in a very weird way, dancing his heart out until his legs are like jelly. Every now and then he stands still for a few moments, opening and closing his wings to cool down from the heat of the exercise; then he dances again until he collapses of exhaustion, ready to take a very long nap in the hot South African sun. .

Inkawu the Monkey is the thirteenth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Inkawu the monkey is very naughty and mischievous. Having spent the morning sitting in the sun while some females searched his fur for fleas, he is now in a hilariously expressive mood. Swinging from the branches of a huge African tree, he mocks everything and everybody around him, mimicking a scornful dance with his weird movements and giving the impression of being a funny clown in a circus. When he comes across a car loaded with passengers on a narrow road between the trees, he jumps straight onto the bonnet of the vehicle, pressing his face on the front window and pulling faces to amuse the surprised audience inside. He grins when they feed him oranges through a small opening of a nearly closed window and refusing to leave, he sits on the bonnet for almost an hour, filling up his tummy and satisfying his taste buds with the juicy citrus fruits. When he finally leaps off the car, he continues his merry ragtime dance until he disappears between the trees..
