This saxophone quintet with bass (electric is preferred, but upright could work) and drums opens with a funky hook figure and settles into a swinging, harmonized treatment of the melody. Chord changes are provided for the tenor sax soloist, who is accompanied by background figures performed by the other saxes. A challenging, Supersax-style soli takes place over the chord progression. A fun and lighthearted straight eighth waltz treatment of the melody gives way to swing and, finally, a return to the funky, swinging shuffle. The song begins in the key of C major with the VIOLIN on the D and G strings. For the second verse, the PIANO transitions to the key of D major and the VIOLIN plays an octave higher using the A and E strings more. All notes for the VIOLIN are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. The PIANO accompaniment is written for an intermediate player.
