La Minga is a native Quechua term for coming together to help each other.  Inspired by personal observance of the Ecuadorian Quechua people performing La Minga in a small village in the Andes after heavy rains caused substantial flooding, this piece was written. Lullaby La Minga is a relaxing piece for easy listening and has Spanish tones incorporated by the use of triplets throughout the composition.  It is a lovely addition to any arrangement or occasion and a joy to play as the continuous melody carries through to the end of the piece.  Level of difficulty is intermediate.

This version is arranged as a duet for one Clarinet and one Viola.There are two melodies in use for Shlof Mein Kind. The melody in this arrangement is the lesser known one, as sung by Paul Robeson. There is no record of the tune’s composer, but the words are a setting of a poem by the Jewish Ukrainian writer, Sholem Aleichem. Aleichem is best known as the creator of the Tevye short stories, which later inspired the musical Fiddler on the Roof.Shlof Mein Kind is arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments.
