The waltz is the theme of Amélia, one of the two main characters in the film. In the second part there is a reference to the melody of the music box, which is a central element in the film's plot.Valsa de Amélia is a short piece, but through it it's possible to work on many musical and technical aspects, from the expressiveness and conduction of the melody, the balance of dynamics between accompaniment and melody, to the motor coordination between the hands, which often perform different or even contrasting rhythms. Although the basic idea is a waltz, the rhythm is constantly changing, often creating a conflict between ternary and binary beats.

This piece uses some of the Modes of Limited Transposition (also known as Messiaen's Modes) to make a exotic harmonic and melodic character. The name comes from the Koch Snowflake, a fractal based on triangles. The harmonic progressions was organized in a system of ways that makes a geometrical structure similar to the Koch Snowflake.This is a good piece to study atonal music and unconventional scales keeping a friendly and intuitive sound, with no excess of aggressive dissonances and harmony composed with tonal-like triads and tetrads (but unconventional progressions).This piece was praised by Professor Eric Ewazen (American composer and teacher) in a masterclass in 2010.Notes:- Contains both Piano Accompaniment Part (piano part with clarinet small staff) and Clarinet in Bb Part- The Clarinet part is already transposed (this piece have no key signature)- Piano part is in Folio size.
