Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1354540 By James Michael Stevens. By James Michael Stevens. Arranged by James Michael Stevens. Classical,Film/TV,Lent,New Age,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. James M Stevens Music ASCAP #939262. Published by James M Stevens Music ASCAP (A0.1354540). Written January 6, 2024, this is an original piano composition in a quiet, nostalgic and somewhat sad style. This has been a difficult holiday season for me. My father unexpectedly passed away on Christmas Day and my mother unexpectedly passed away on New Years Day. They were great parents and the sorrow of losing them is and will be great. They were always proud and supportive of my music and I hope to somehow in their memory honor them as I continue to write.

C Instrument - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1131826 By John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman. By Guy Wood and Robert Mellin. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Jazz,Standards. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 1 pages. John Fries #732060. Published by John Fries (A0.1131826). Please contact me by email at jfries@ptd.net to make a special request or to find out all that I have to offer and to express your comments or concerns.  You can also type John Fries in the searchbar to see all I have to offer.  The song originated in 1947 under the title Music from Beyond the Moon, with music by Guy B. Wood and lyrics by Jack Lawrence. Vocalist Vic Damone recorded this version in the same year and released it as a B-side to I'll Always Be In Love With You (Mercury 5072), but it was unsuccessful. In 1952, Robert Mellin wrote a new title and lyrics for the song, and it was republished the next year as “My One and Only Love”. When Frank Sinatra recorded it in 1953 with Nelson Riddle, first released as B-side to his hit single I've Got the World on a String (Capitol 2505), it became known as a jazz standard.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205194 Composed by M.Y Owusu. Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. M.Y Owusu #803377. Published by M.Y Owusu (A0.1205194). Aphelion is one of my few pieces that's meant to tell a story and it's not incredibly specific, but here is the story of Aphelion. However, the definition of aphelion first is incredibly important.aphelion (noun):the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the sun.And it's very important to know the definition of its absolute antonym: perihelion.perihelion (noun):the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is closest to the sun. These are terms used in astronomy to describe a celestial object's extreme distance from the sun. I'm using this to describe a relationship between two people. The type of relationship does not matter, it is simply just a relationship. However, you perceive it: platonic, romantic, etc. That is up to your interpretation.Aphelion follows the story of two people, with the start of the piece not actually being the aphelion, but however the perihelion, starting in D Major. It highlights their relationship as perfect, well-rounded, and flawless relationship. Some may call it a honeymoon era/phase or just the possible closest two people could be, i.e the perihelion. Then the two slowly drift away, with a shift to B Minor and D Minor. Issues, flaws, and problems that weren't there before begin to appear. These issues are quickly shoved under the rug, and the two pretend that they are nonexistent. The piece shifts back to D major incredibly quickly, however, there is a slight sense of uneasiness within the piece that I intended to create as it goes through this relationship that is clearly rocky, but it isn't being addressed because neither are choosing to communicate these issues. Then, the mysterious part hits very quickly, this is the aphelion. following a D Minor chord progression, then a shift into D minor itself. This part is where the relationship issues reach a boiling point, neither can stand the other and any attempt to resolve the issues is essentially useless. They stay in a toxic relationship. However, it's labeled as mysterious because the future is an absolute mystery to the two. They don't know what will happen. Then, one confronts the other, they choose to genuinely communicate. It's where the shift back to D Major occurs. They finally come to an understanding. At this point, they can choose to stay in the relationship, and work on the issues, or come to an understanding that it might not work from here, because a relationship takes two. There is a sense of peace, they are finally at peace with one another and their situation. Life can continue moving on, and the piece ends on an A Major chord. This is because A Major can be interpreted as one finally becoming content. That is the story that I intended to tell by writing Aphelion.

We could paraphrase, “Congratulations belong to the one who … or “Consider the person blessed who …” But these congratulations reveal a subtle twist. These congratulations come to unlikely individuals. Many of the “Blessed are” unexpectedly run counter to the opinions of the world at large both in Bible times and our times. Our culture congratulates the wicked, not the righteous. It is deemed a compliment in our culture to be called a bad ass. “I’m not a saint!” “I’m not a prude” are common phrases used to distance oneself from the “Eagle Scout” or the “puritanical.” ♫ The movements of the tone poem “Three Psalms” are written using contemporary classical music composition techniques.♫ The theme representing the one who loves God’s law is set in Dorian Mode and restated in the Aeolian Mode. The theme reflecting the lawbreaker is set in the Lokrian Mode with polytonality.♫ This .pdf file includes 14 score choices • Letter size score for Violin & piano • Letter size solo parts for Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Euphonium (or trombone), & Cello • 10 inch tablet size score for violin & piano • 10 inch tablet size score for the same solo parts. ♫ (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1260120 Composed by Mark S Grossman. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. Octavo. 13 pages. Mark S Grossman #853354. Published by Mark S Grossman (A0.1260120). A work for chorus (SATB) and piano. First performance March, 2023 by Schola Cantorum of Silicon Valley. One morning in early 2022, after having somewhat unexpectedly lost my two aunts and one of my best friends in the world over the previous year or so, I woke up and this piece, along with some tears, poured out in about 15 minutes. For Us the Living contains echoes of Brahms' German Requiem (Denn alles Fleisch ist wie Gras), Shawn Kirchner's Cornerstone, and Dolly Parton's Light of a Clear Blue Morning (another a song about loss). The words are partly based on a short poem I wrote after my father passed away. I ended to him, Go to sleep, rest a while. So, perhaps obviously, the piece is like a lullaby. What I'm saying is that the purpose of mourning is first to comfort the survivors, and a call to take care of each other -- but also to not just wait for salvation, but to use the memory of our loved ones, to be inspired to pick ourselves up and make ourselves useful while we're on this Earth.

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Multi-Percussion,Recorder,Ukulele,Voice,Xylophone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565165 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional Spiritual. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Folk,Instructional,Praise & Worship,Spiritual. Score and parts. 80 pages. Sharon Wilson #3500119. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565165). This collection contains 10 traditional spirituals arranged for 2-part ensembles using only 8-note instruments. Each song in this collection is notated for handbells on one part and Boomwhackers® on a second part (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part.Though this sheet music is notated for handbells and Boomwhackers®, these arrangements are playable by any 8-note, C major diatonic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel (though the color coding may not match). This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Handbells sold by Rhythm Band or KidsPlay also use this same color scheme (other brands may use different color schemes). Using color coded notes helps beginning musicians learn to read standard sheet music notation. This set of scores is also available (separate purchase) in black and white which will print clearer if you do not have access to a color printer. The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. Instrument assignment suggestions are provided for each song.Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of each song. The staves are shown without sharps or flats for simplicity since even though some of the songs are actually written in the key of F or G major, no sharps or flats are used.Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers®    * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® * use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children's ministriesEach of the 10 arrangements in this collection is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1459448 By Will Corbin. By Traditional. Arranged by Will Corbin. Christmas,Traditional. 18 pages. Will Corbin #1038400. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1459448). An 19th century English hymnwriter took a 13th century Easter tune he found in a 16th century Finnish song collection and turned it into a tribute to a legendary 10th century Bohemian nobleman. (Bohemia today is in the Czech Republic.) Turns out Wenceslas, around whom a cult developed in his native land and, inexplicably, in England, wasn't really a king, so Holy Roman Emperor Otto made him an honorary one after his death, since he was sunch a king of a guy.All that notwithstanding, it's still a pretty good Christmas carol for a brass quintet. If you need alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to help. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1470648 By Marcos Fernandez-Barrero. By Marcos Fernandez-Barrero. 21st Century,Chamber,Christian,Opera,Sacred. Score. 17 pages. Marcos Fernandez-Barrero #1048301. Published by Marcos Fernandez-Barrero (A0.1470648). Work commissioned for mezzo-soprano Sandra Ferrndez and pianist Irene Alfageme to be premiered at the Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid) on 1st April 2024.The piece takes inspiration from the the XV Century Spanish poem by anonymous author 'Van Y Vienen', which gave the lyrics of the work. Although the poem was written in the Middle Ages, it resonates with a timeless universality, allowing for a deep connection with the contemporary audience. Its metaphor of the sea as a reflection of human emotions that come and go like the waves of the sea transcends eras, resonating with the instability and hope that characterize the human experience.By using it as lyrics for a sort of contemporary habanera, I saw the possibility of merging the nostalgia of the past with the artistic expression of the present, creating a bridge between different historical moments through music and poetry.____________________________________________________________________Obra encargo para el estreno a cargo de la mezzosoprano Sandra Ferrndez y la pianista Irene Alfageme en el Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid) el 1 de abril de 2024.La pieza se utiliza el poema annimo del siglo XV 'Van y Vienen'.

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565975 By Sharon Wilson. By James M. Black. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Praise & Worship,Romantic Period,Sacred,Traditional. Score and parts. 38 pages. Sharon Wilson #6612669. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565975). NOTE: This song has many eighth notes and may take beginners longer to learn and master. Those with a little music experience will probably have an easier time learning this arrangement and have a lot of fun with the quick tempo. For beginning musicians or for introducing new players to Handbells and Boomwhackers®, I recommend starting with an easy song which uses only quarter notes and rests in the score such as God Is So Good for 8-note Bells and Boomwhackers®. This sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. To aid in the learning and teaching of this song or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on the Boomwhackers® staff and score. Lyrics are provided on the grand staff for sing along enjoyment or when using this arrangement as the accompaniment for a unison choir. In addition, a complete set of scores for 4 ringers and 4 whackers is provided. Though there are multiple combinations for the number of ringers and whackers needed for any given performance, this extra set of scores is specifically designed for 8 performers with 1 to 3 notes assigned to each player. For each ringer and whacker, the 1-staff score shows only the notes they are assigned. This alternate score format may be easier to sight-read since the only notes on the staff are the assigned notes allowing the player to focus on rhythm. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Only filled noteheads are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. All sharps and flats are displayed as well (shown in the key of C); a helpful reminder for beginning musicians. Note assignment suggestions are provided. Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers® * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® * use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groupsPermission is granted to make as many copies as needed for one family, church, school, or other performing group. Here is the lyric:'Where are we going?' you asked me today.Truth is - I have no idea.Wherever we're heading - we're heading that way;today - let's enjoy being here.I don't buy into this mad human race.Everyone's rushing to some distant place.Everyones hoping some day they'll arrive.I'm busy being alive. What happens next, now that we two have met,Leave in the lap of the gods.'Now' is a moment I cannot regret -right now, we have beaten the odds.I don't buy into this mad human race.Everyone's rushing to some distant place.Everyones hoping some day they'll arrive.I'm busy being alive.I love uncertainty - I love the road,I love the time spent with you.I love not knowing the last episode,I love what we're going through.Dont even know what's around the next bend.Don't want to know, or to see.One thing's for certain - I'll still be your friend,Right now, that feels solid to me.I don't buy into this mad human race.Everyone's rushing to some distant place.Everyones hoping some day they'll arrive.I'm busy being alive.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158392 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Patriotic. 19 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758673. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158392). “Valor” offers a potent two-minute concert opener, or an attention grabber after intermission. It is also highly effective as an encore (depending on endurance, particularly of the first trumpeter and hornist), leaving the audience with a rush and energy typified by an effective encore. Besides some minor edits and formatting, the composition was completed the day I hit my ten-year anniversary of serving in the United States Air Force Bands—a fitting anthem to celebrate a decade of service to my wonderful country! The title settled the next day as I began my second decade as an Airman Musician: Valor. The best account is recorded in my personal journal on 27 April 2021: “[Valor] is the Thrower family motto from hundreds of years ago. It’s also a concept that helped get me into [Arizona State University] for my doctoral studies. [Professor] Hickman asked for a very difficult orchestral excerpt during my audition. [Béla Bartók’s “Concerto for Orchestra.”] I expressed some trepidation, but decided to give it a shot. I nailed it! Then Hickman turned to me with a big smile, ‘I give extra points for valor!’ So I’m pretty sure this little two-minute musical journal entry will keep the name ‘Valor’… as a motivational cheer for my next ten years in the Air Force. Valor! Great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle. Ok, in the face of life’s many battles, Valor it is! And on to the next ten years!” The music is in AA’BA’ form. The B section is heavily influenced by the thematic material of the A section, but with a strongly contrasting mood that could be dubbed quiet dignity. A finale section follows the last A with some motivic twists from throughout the piece, decisively ending with a power that could well be accompanied by a dazzling flurry of fireworks. None of the performers get much of a reprieve throughout the two minutes packed full of notes. The first trumpet part stays in the upper mid-range for most of it, which would absolutely sparkle on an E-flat trumpet (alternate part provided). Second trumpet is also demanding. The horn part demands a decent level of mastery in the high range as well as the low range, vehemently forsaking its traditional role of off beats. The trombone and tuba parts also present their challenges, and never really stop longer than to take a breath. Although this work could conceivably be performed without percussion, doing so is strongly discouraged. The power delivered by the snare, bass, and cymbals, and even the triangle in the B section, make the part arguably indispensable.
