He is best known for his solo piano works, which revolutionized the way the instrument was played and heard. Chopin's works are widely regarded as some of the most beautiful, lyrical, and technically demanding pieces ever written for the instrument. One of Chopin's most famous works is his Largo from Op. 65. Written in 1845, this piece is a beautiful example of Chopin's mastery of the piano. It is a slow, meditative piece, with its dreamy atmosphere, gentle chords, and haunting melodies. The piece builds to a dramatic climax, before fading away to a tranquil ending. It is one of the most beloved pieces in all of classical music, and is a testament to Chopin's genius.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1049004 Composed by An-lun Huang. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 61 pages. DoReMi Edition #653398. Published by DoReMi Edition (A0.1049004). Chinese Rhapsody No.3 was composed e in Toronto, Canada , 1988. Huang dedicated the piece to the Canadian Saxophonist Paul Brodie who premiered it in Parry sound of Ontario in the same year. Written in Saibei Folk Style, the music is divided into 5 movements without stop. As usual, Huang didn‘t use any folk song . But the typical taste of Huang’s “Zhang Jia Kou[張家å£] accent†is pretty easy to be identified. With the concert virtuosity, the 1st movement is composed as an emotional Cadenza which expresses the profound affections to the land of Saibei. Using the same Alto Sax., the lyric 2nd movement is followed by a folk dance, the 3rd movement. Chang to a Soprano Saxophone, the 4th movement is sound like a dreamy nocturne which is interrupted by the percussions of the fiery 5th movement. The whole Rhapsody ends on a climax of the Chinese Northern west “wind and percussion “styleâ€. Brodie found more than 300 trills in this piece. Perhaps this is the key to perform the music in real Chinese style. Huang has composed 5 versions of these pieces for different ensembles: saxophone solo with piano, or strings, or winds/brasses, or Chinese traditional orchestra, or symphony orchestra. The attached mp3 was performed by the German saxophonist Jurgen Demmler with pianist Peter Grabinger in 1996. Duration: 20’.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796809 By Robert Palmer. By John Moon Martin. Arranged by Eric Hagmann. A Cappella. Octavo. 8 pages. Eric Hagmann #3692383. Published by Eric Hagmann (A0.796809). An SATB + Solo contemporary a cappella arrangement of Bad Case of Loving You by Robert Palmer.  Released in 1978 by John Moon Martin and then covered the very next year by Robert Palmer, this driving-rock spin on the traditional blues form fits perfectly as a piece just for voices.  Contains alternate lyrics which could be used by a female soloist.  In the hands of a skilled vocal percussionist, the propulsive rhythm of Bad Case thumps alongside the bass; thus laying the groundwork for your soloist and setting the electric tone for the entire song.  Rather than mimicking the guitar licks of the original piece, the supporting vocals fill the void between phrases and then pack a true punch when finally getting to the chorus that we all know and love.  At the bridge, the bass has a moment to shine on the melody before handing it off to the altos to finish the section.  This is followed directly by a unique departure from the original tune - a breakdown where all but one section drops out.  Over a short time, each part layers themselves back into the texture, thus building to an exciting climax where the vocal percussionist resumes the original groove along with the full support of the rest of your singers.High energy and lots of fun, this arrangement is great for your high school or college ensemble!  .

Frank Lestina #949524. Published by Frank Lestina (A0.1365210). This arrangemen is in A minor. Besides the half step lower, very few notes have been altered.I have added an advanced cello part to assist with the viola melody and the viola part assists the cello melody in the upper register. Some notes were added to the bass part (in the proper register) to assist with the viola/cello changes. At the climax, I was able to elimiate many of the leaps by making the Violin I part divisi and then re-voicing some of the other parts. This will improve accuracy and intonation.Suggested bowings are also added.

Instrumental Duet Flute,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1021619 Composed by Tyler J. Holt. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 43 pages. TJHoltMusic #6134009. Published by TJHoltMusic (A0.1021619). Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 12 was written for and is dedicated to my friend, Natalie Smith. This sonata conveys different moods using various styles in each of the movements, all of which take some liberty and, at times, are vague with form. The first movement, inspired by Claude Debussy, uses a quasi mirror form, with the two motives connecting with a sudden yet seamless tempo change, which is supported by the driving rhythm in the piano, and a development in the middle of the movement. The second movement is a funeral march and is based on the chord progression built around the sustained B natural in the flute, which conveys a dreamlike atmosphere. As the progression transforms, there is an increasing sense of dread that unfolds until this feeling becomes primal before collapsing in on itself at the climax of the movement. From there, the progression returns more actively with, although not as strong as before, a sense of dread still present for the remainder of the movement. The movement is in ternary form (ABA), with a development in the first A section. The third movement is a more clearly defined rondo form and is based on themes that undergo subtle changes each time they return. Other themes include a recurring call and response between the treble and bass lines in the piano, which the flute participates in this exchange when it is presented again later, a reference to the second movement's progression, and a modal theme that floats in terms of harmonic and melodic structure. When the initial theme returns for the final time, a coda restates previous ideas as the finale gradually increases its tempo and concludes the piece. This movement is the most technically challenging, especially considering that I asked Natalie how fast she can double tongue. In general, there are a fair amount of high passages and big leaps. This was written with Natalie's skill set in mind.I. Moderato con gioiaII. Lamento sostenutoIII. ScherzoComposed by Tyler J. HoltPublished by TJHoltMusicCopyright © Tyler J. Holt, Composer.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1402950 By Ben E. King. By Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber, and Mike Stoller. Arranged by Rick Windley. 20th Century,Pop,Standards. 19 pages. RockWind Music, LLC #986154. Published by RockWind Music, LLC (A0.1402950). A brass quintet arrangement of the old classic, Stand By Me, that was sung by Ben E. King and featured in the motion picture, Stand By Me (1986).  This arrangement begins with the familiar ostinato bass line now played by the Tuba.  The Lead Trumpet then begins the melody and the 2nd Trumpet, French Horn, and Trombone join in with accompaniment.  The piece crescendos to a climax with polyphonic voicings of melody and harmonies before calming down and getting softer to end the piece. This arrangement would be a great addition to your program to take your audience down memory lane or to educate your younger audience members on the great pop music styles of the '50's and '60's.  Enjoy!

Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 14 pages. Jmsgu3 #726732. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1126013). Score: 6 pages. Duration: ca. 3:00.Bach's Prelude and Fugue in G Minor BWV 558 is a work for organ composed by Johann Sebastian Bach in the early 18th century. It is part of his collection of preludes and fugues for organ, the Great Eighteen Chorale Preludes, and is one of the most beloved and often performed of all his works. The prelude is marked by its dramatic and intense character, with an ascending and descending chromatic scale providing a powerful climax. The fugue is marked by its intricate contrapuntal writing and shifts in tonality, as Bach builds up a complex texture of musical lines. Together, the prelude and fugue form a powerful and emotionally charged work, with the prelude providing a stark contrast to the more complex fugue. This work is a testament to Bach's mastery of the organ and the contrapuntal techniques he employed. It is a beloved and timeless masterpiece of the Baroque era.
