String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576182 Composed by David Warin Solomons. Contemporary,Opera,World. Score and parts. 13 pages. David Warin Solomons #4559. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576182). ATON is a stage play written by Manfred Strolz and Otmar Rützler which represents Egypt in the time of the Pharoahs but seen through the eyes of modern theatre directors and actors. The modern scenes are spoken but the Egyptian scenes require music, so Manfred and Otmar asked me to write the music for these. The music is composed for various forces as the play progresses, from the full orchestra (woodwind, strings, harp, piano, timpani) and choir down to more intimate moments with single voice or duets, flute and classical guitar or with single voice and bassoon. For each section the pdf file contains score and parts and the sound sample is an electronic preview. As I write 16 sections have been composed, but more are to come - please just search for Aton in due course for the full picture.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.918236 Composed by Pavel Tchnesnokoff. Arranged by Samantha Hogan. Christian,Christmas,Easter,Sacred. Score and parts. 10 pages. Coffee Seal Music #6191027. Published by Coffee Seal Music (A0.918236). This arrangement is great for an Easter performance or any time your group wants to play this amazing piece normally sung by Russian Orthodox choirs at any gig of choice.Difficulty- Later Intermediate to advanced because of the Key.Length: about 3 MinutesPURCHASE INCLUDES A SCORE AND FULL SET OF PARTSThe key of Db was chosen to keep the piece from going into the stratosphere for the poor trumpet 1 who needs to save their chops during the rest of a church service (and the rest of the group of course!). The Timpani is totally optional but adds an Epic flair to the ending if you add them in. Note: I wrote this arrangement for my own Easter Brass quartet and it works very well. The Trombone part would likely sound best played on a Bass Trombone or possibly a Tuba,  but I was able to do it justice with my large bore tenor. Please visit www.SamanthaHogan.com for more music or information about this piece.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.834001 Composed by JOHAN B. KOK. Arranged by BRIAN W. COPPING. Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 18 pages. EMK Music #27095. Published by EMK Music (A0.834001). The Dutch Composer, Johan B Kok (1889-1954), wrote over two- hundred compositions for different combinations of instruments, all of which included the Mandolin or the Mandolin Orchestra. ‘Joska’, originally written for two Mandolins, Mandola and Guitar, bears the subtitle and style of the ‘Zigeuner Romance’ or ‘Gypsy Romance’, and it may well have been inspired by Monti’s better known ‘Czardas’, which, significantly, was also originally written for Mandolin and Piano. Both pieces have contrasting slow and fast sections, which is typical of Central European ‘tavern music’, commonly associated with Hungary. ‘Czardas’, of course, means ‘tavern’ in Hungarian.

Small Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Drum Set,Piano,Tenor Saxophone,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.734627 Composed by Eliot Daniel. Arranged by Dennis Ruello. Contemporary. Score and parts. 21 pages. Chicory Music #6707191. Published by Chicory Music (A0.734627). On October 15, 1951, the very first episode of the I Love Lucy show aired on CBS and became the most watched TV show in the U.S. for four of its seven-year run. Fun trivia about the opening theme song is that during the first season the show opened with their sponsor Philip Morris’ animation of stick figure cartoons of Lucy and Desi climbing down a pack of Philip Morris cigarettes. It was scored with Ferde Grofé’s Jr. The Grand Canyon Suite theme (a composition from 1931).From the second season onwards, the I Love Lucy signature tune we all know so well became the main theme, and one of the most recognizable pieces of music on the planet. It was written by composer Eliot Daniel who cranked it out in an afternoon as a favor to his old Coast Guard buddy Jess Oppenheimer, the show’s producer. Since Daniel still had another year under his exclusive contract to Fox, he asked Oppenheimer to keep his name out of it. Consequently his name does not appear on first or the second season TV credits for what became one of the most popular TV themes. Later, Daniel did seek credit and received royalties from syndicated reruns for the rest of his life. The lyrics were written by Harold Adamson for an episode in the third season in which Lucy believes everyone has forgotten her birthday. So of course Ricky saves the day after a near disaster. This arrangement for Jazz / Big Band is written at the Intermediate Level in a Slow Ballad Tempo.Performance Time: Approx. 1 minute 40 seconds

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1368932 Composed by Martin Lass. Chamber,Children,Classical,Instructional. 32 pages. MA Lass & I Lass #953274. Published by MA Lass & I Lass (A0.1368932). Five Australian Scenes for String Orchestra was conceived with specific iconic Australian places in mind, as well as with the intention to convey the experience of these places programmatically through the music. From this point of view, the pieces could have just as successfully been called Australian Days. As such, each piece represents a kind of day journey in microcosm, like a travel diary set to music. The points of interest in each day are indicated sequentially in the music. The pieces were written with the intermediate student string orchestra in mind. As such, they explore a wide variety of string techniques, dynamic and tonal contrasts, styles, and moods. Although the writing never takes a student out of first position barring one solo cello passage, and the fingering avoids the use of cello forward extensions and minimises high 3s for the upper strings, the technical, rhythmic, ensemble, and intonational challenges put these pieces at the intermediate level. There are ossias and other alternatives for greater challenge or greater ease. Fingering has been offered where appropriate. And bowing has been meticulously indicated. This particular piece, Snowy Mountains, is set in the alpine region of Australia, in Thredbo in the state of NSW, which is a popular ski resort. The scene opens with the majesty and austerity of the alpine mountains. Then, the cold sets the teeth chattering and the feet stamping with a paraphrase from Vivaldi's Winter from The Four Seasons but which transforms into the iconic Australian song, Waltzing Matilda. From there, fun is had in the snow followed by the journey up the ski lift to the top of the ski fields. Then, of course, there is the exhilarating ski journey down the mountain! After more fun in the snow, the day ends, everybody tired but happy!
