The Love Which Makes Us One is a composition for SATB choir with piano accompaniment. It is based on a sonnet by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894) entitled I loved you first: but afterwards your love from her Monna Innominata, a series of 14 sonnets. I loved you first: but afterwards your love is one of Rossetti’s love poems; it simply yet profoundly expresses the existence of love as being made possible only through the complete melding of two people as one entity.

The Love Which Makes Us One is best suited for advanced intermediate to professional level choirs. Competitive high school and college choirs should be able to manage it. The piece involves continuous two-against-three rhythms with the choir vs. piano. In addition, there is one extended a capella section that requires the choir to stay on pitch for the piano re-entry. Tenors need to be able to sing the G above middle C, and basses need to be able to sing the F below C3.

How can your trombone quartet gain more audience?

By playing with other people. You want your concerts to be well visited and to help you with that, I make arrangements (and compositions) for trombonequartet with guitar, piano, bass and drums. They also contain an optional bass-trombone/ tuba part and sometimes a solo part. This one contains a trombone solo part.

This arrangement of A Whole New World, is scored for Solo Trombone in front of the ensemble mentioned above.  There are two solo parts in the set. One high and and one low. You can combine those two if that makes you more comfortable. Durata: 3,5 minutes (approx.)

The song itself is about Alladin taking Jasmine on a ride on the magic carpet. The lyrics are all about discovering what you didn’t know about and be grateful for all the adventures life gives. This makes it a perfect piece to play in a variety of places, like weddings, celebrations of any kind, graduations, not to mention many types of concerts.

With a few adjustments you can also use parts of this arrangement and make it work. It’s most powerful when you use the whole band, but it still makes a lot of sense if you have to skip some of the parts. There are so many times I have had to skip a piece in a concert, using a not as good substitute, because we didn’t have the people to play it. In this series I have made it easier to still be able to play it, even if you don’t manage to cover every part. Check it out and you’ll understand.

This is the first movement of a //Sonatina in F// for piano, attributed to Beethoven – although scholars now doubt that he was indeed the composer.  A Sonatina tends to be a shorter, less demanding version of a sonata, usually fairly light-hearted in character.  Those who have at some time or another taken piano lessons will probably be familiar with this piece!

This version, for duo of flute and clarinet in B-flat, is tricky to manage smoothly at speed, hence its classification as 'advanced intermediate'.

This is a big band original composition that is written in the Count Basie/ Sammy Nestico fashion with blues changes on the 13th chord premise. There a a few Shout choruses written for the ensemble with featured ad lib choruses for Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone & Piano. There is also an optional repeat at letter C if the director wishes to add more jazz choruses to the piece. This would be a great piece for a Junior College level or higher caliber of players skill. There may be a few high school ensembles that could manage it as well. .

This arrangement includes a set of freestanding horn parts (Trumpet, Tenor Sax, Trombone) that fit right in with the key and form of the B-52's original recording of Love Shack. None of the parts pose any particular technical challenges so even younger players should be able to manage this as long as they can reach a high C on trumpet or high Bb on trombone.

Verses and sections are well marked to ensure performers can stay together with little difficulty or confusion. A great chart to have in the book for any cover band!

Tainos Visions is a single-movement piece for the Youth Orchestra by Composer William Pagán-Pérez. The piece is in the key of G Major. This piece was inspired by some cinematographic music and composers but also integrates some cultural background of the composer. Composer Pagán-Pérez followed some teachings organized in Volume I of the Suzuki Methods to compose the piece for the string sections and a grade level 4 for the wind and brass instruments (rhythms, melodies, or range). The key of G Major can be a challenge for the winds and brass (especially for clarinets and trumpets in Bb), but music teachers, conductors, and students will manage the challenges by practicing scales and arpeggios.
