Composed by Benedetto Marcello. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Standards,World. Score and parts. 43 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #4602679. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742476).

Benedetto Giacomo Marcello (Italian: [beneˈdetto marˈtʃɛllo]; (31 July or 1 August 1686 – 24 July 1739) was an Italian composer, writer, advocate, magistrate, and teacher.

Born in Venice, Benedetto Marcello was a member of a noble family and his compositions are frequently referred to as Patrizio Veneto. Although he was a music student of Antonio Lotti and Francesco Gasparini, his father wanted Benedetto to devote himself to law. Benedetto managed to combine a life in law and public service with one in music. In 1711 he was appointed a member of the Council of Forty (in Venice's central government), and in 1730 he went to Pola as Provveditore (district governor). Due to his health having been impaired by the climate of Istria, Marcello retired after eight years in the capacity of Camerlengo to Brescia where he died of tuberculosis in 1739.

Benedetto Marcello was the brother of Alessandro Marcello, also a notable composer. On 20 May 1728 Benedetto Marcello married his singing student Rosanna Scalfi in a secret ceremony. However, as a nobleman his marriage to a commoner was unlawful and after Marcello's death the marriage was declared null by the state. Rosanna was unable to inherit his estate, and filed suit in 1742 against Benedetto's brother Alessandro Marcello, seeking financial support.

Composed by Benedetto Marcello (1686-1739). Arranged by James Pybus. Baroque. 53 pages. James Pybus #6096827. Published by James Pybus (A0.764730).

Benedetto Marcello was born in Venice on 24 July, 1686 and died at Brescia on 24 July, 1739. Marcello's life was a strange mixture of the political and the artistic. His brother, Alessandro Marcello (24 August 1669 – 19 June 1747) was an Italian nobleman, poet, philosopher, mathematician and musician. He wrote a concerto in D minor for oboe, strings and basso continuo, perhaps his best-known work. The work is in three movements and was first published in 1716 in Amsterdam. Its worth was affirmed by Johann Sebastian Bach who transcribed it for harpsichord (BWV 974). Several editions have been published of the famous Oboe Concerto in D minor. The edition in C minor is credited to Benedetto Marcello. This arrangement is for Solo Soprano Saxophone and SATB Saxophone Quartet. Duration is 10:20. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Composed by Benedetto Marcello. This edition: Sheet music. Cello Library. Die sechs Sonaten von Benedetto Marcello (1686-1739) gehören neben denjenigen von Antonio Vivaldi zu den bekanntesten Barockkompositionen für Violoncello und Basso continuo. Downloadable. Schott Music - Digital #Q909. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q909).

Key: E minor.

No. 1 F Major and No. 4 G Minor. Composed by Benedetto Marcello. This edition: Sheet music. Baroque - Cello - cello library. Cello Library. Downloadable. Schott Music - Digital #Q911. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q911).

The six sonatas by Benedetto Marcello (1686-1739) are among the best-known baroque compositions for violoncello and basso continuo, second only to those by Antonio Vivaldi. Marcello was a famous composer during his lifetime, and consequently his collection could be found in printed editions in the major European music metropolises of London, Paris and Amsterdam. Even if there is some uncomfortable fingering in these sonatas - which might be due to Marcello's working with a five-string cello with an added E' string - they are of only moderate difficulty and belong to the standard works of the violoncello teaching literature.

Composed by Allesandro Marcello. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Baroque,Concert,Standards,World. Score and parts. 31 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #3676467. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742424).

The Oboe Concerto in D minor, S D935, is an early 18th-century concerto for oboe, strings and continuo attributed to the Venetian composer Alessandro Marcello. The earliest extant manuscript containingJohann Sebastian Bach's solo keyboard arrangement of the concerto, BWV 974, dates from around 1715. As a concerto for oboe, strings and continuo its oldest extant sources date from 1717: that year it was printed in Amsterdam, and a C minor variant of the concerto, S Z799, was written down.

Bach's keyboard version was published as an arrangement of a concerto by Antonio Vivaldi in the 19th century. In 1923 the C minor version of the oboe concerto was published as a composition by Benedetto Marcello, Alessandro's brother. In the second half of the 20th century several publications indicated Alessandro again as the composer of the piece, as it had been in its early 18th-century print, and the oboe concerto was again published in its D minor version.

As well oboe concerto versions and versions based on Bach's arrangement kept repertoire in the 20th and 21st century.

Arranged for C Euphonium/ C Baritone, C Trombone & PianoQuando me'n vo', also known as Musetta's Waltz, is a soprano aria, a waltz in act two of Puccini's 1896 opera La bohème. It is sung by Musetta, in the presence of her bohemian friends, hoping to reclaim the attention of her occasional boyfriend Marcello. This scene takes place at the Café Momus [fr]. Shortly after Mimì, Rodolfo, and their friends have taken seats for a drink, Marcello's former girlfriend, Musetta, shows up with her current patron, the elderly Alcindoro. They quarrel for a bit, then the episode begins as Musetta initiates her move on Marcello. She grabs the spotlight, musically speaking, for a short self-promoting aria (Quando me'n vo'). It is a song directed at the people in the café as much as at the audience in the theater.
