Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.864424 Composed by Mark D. Templeton. Contemporary,Renaissance,Sacred. Octavo. 16 pages. Mark Templeton Choral Music #19323. Published by Mark Templeton Choral Music (A0.864424). The text of the Benedictus is taken from the final two phrases of the Sanctus, the fourth section of the Ordinary of the Mass. Composers have often set it independently from the Sanctus. This setting was originally composed for Selina Midkiff and the Appalachian Children’s Chorus in Charleston, West Virginia. The original consisted of only the two soprano parts from Choir 1 and Choir 2. I decided to compose alto, tenor, and bass parts for the first two sections, creating a double choir effect for the final section. Although it is scored for double choir one will find the individual parts easily accessible for any church, school, or community choir. The accompaniment can be played by organ, piano or string quartet.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.864447 Composed by Traditional Amish folk song. Arranged by Mark D. Templeton. Folk,Traditional,World. Octavo. 12 pages. Mark Templeton Choral Music #2832017. Published by Mark Templeton Choral Music (A0.864447). Reide, Reide, Geili! (Ride & Ride the Pony!) is a Pennsylvania Dutch folk song. The Pennsylvania Dutch were Germans who migrated to America during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. They brought with them their culture, religions, music, and cooking! The Pennsylvania Dutch language is still spoken by the Amish, the religious sect mostly known for their horses and buggies and their eighteenth century way of life. There are many different tunes associated with Reide, Reide, Geili! The song has taken on a life of its own reflecting the lives of the Amish who still sing it, and the melody and text can differ from community to community. The particular tune used for this arrangement comes from Holmes County, Ohio and is similar to the English nursery rhyme, Ring Around the Rosie. Amish parents and grandparents will sing this rhyme while bouncing their toddlers on their knee. The bouncing is to imitate a horseback ride as the song begins. At the end of each verse, the adult suddenly drops their leg to imitate the child falling off the horse. The child falls to the floor amidst a peal of laughter.  The song can be sung in either Pennsylvania Dutch or in English (written underneath the Dutch). This unique arrangement will lift your audience’s spirits as they are reminded of the songs of their youth, and your singers will enjoy its high energy and pulsating rhythms! A thorough pronunciation guide is also included.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.864429 Composed by Mark D. Templeton. Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. Mark Templeton Choral Music #2098371. Published by Mark Templeton Choral Music (A0.864429). Mea Lesbia, commonly known as Catullus 87, consists of two elegiac couplets written by Gaius Valerius Catullus (84 - 54 B.C.E) for his lover, Lesbia. Catullus was only one of Lesbia’s many lovers, and he often wrote of his jealousy and disdain for her unfaithful actions. This elegy was written at a time when Lesbia had been particularly cruel toward Catullus. Despite being broken hearted, his obsession with her never waned. In his despair and desperation, he basically says, My love for you is so great that no other woman could possibly even know what love is..

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.864443 Composed by Mark D. Templeton. Classical,Contemporary,Sacred,World. Octavo. 16 pages. Mark Templeton Choral Music #2803663. Published by Mark Templeton Choral Music (A0.864443). This piece is comprised of two texts: Psalm 60 (in Old Low Franconian) and Preces Nocturnae (Prayer at Night) written by Alcuin (b. 747). The piece starts with a medieval sounding melody sung by a tenor solo that eventually turns into a round with another tenor solo. The Psalm 60 melody is then juxtaposed with the Alcuin text sung in a chant-like style. The piece gradually expands into three choirs and eventually ends with the tenor solo singing by himself. This is a challenging but accessible piece for the larger choir.
