Handbell - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1144852 Composed by B F White. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Chamber,Folk,Religious,Sacred. 3 pages. Mark R Lewis #745169. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1144852). Beach Spring is an old American hymn-tune usually attributed to B. F. White, the co-editor of the music collection The Sacred Harp. Among the hymns that use this tune are Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service and Wash, O God, Our Sons and Daughters. The melody of the tune itself is pentatonic though many harmonizations end up disguising this. This particular arrangement by Mark Lewis actually embraces the pentatonic aspects of the melody and extends them throughout the harmony as well, causing the piece to require a 10 bell ensemble which is rather unusual and easiest to realize with five players. The time signature also is modified throughout the piece, starting in 8/4, moving through 7/4, and ending up in 6/4 which is basically the 3/2 time signature usually associated with the tune. By feeling the whole piece in variations of a Three Pattern the tempo marking of quarter-note = 200 is actually much more reasonable than it would first appear.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1001562 Composed by Lorne Balfe. Arranged by Mark R. Lewis. A Cappella. Octavo. 8 pages. Mark R Lewis #6885085. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1001562). In the fall of 2021, Amazon Prime introduced the first season of the television adaptation of Robert Jordan's iconic Wheel of Time book series. The series included a lot of wonderful music composed by Lorne Balfe, including The Song of Manetheren in episode 2. It is presented as a folk song performed by the character Mat and joined by the other main characters as they travel on horseback through the countryside. This arrangement of the piece is arranged by Mark R Lewis for a cappella TTBB ensemble with additional lyrics added by Mark R Lewis. The baritones have the melody the whole time with the basses providing a lower, drone-like harmony and the tenors providing upper harmonies. The arrangement also includes body percussion in the form of foot stomps and hand claps. The piece is not particularly difficult but does have some rather quick, atypical rhythms and may test the ranges of younger singers. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1044850 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Celtic,Folk,Irish. Octavo. 48 pages. Mark R Lewis #649472. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1044850). This original song tells a fairy tail in the style of a Celtic folk song. Both the story and the tune are wholly original and were composed as part of a music production class that Mark participated in during the spring of 2022. This song tells the story of a young boy's adventure in the woods, his skepticism towards what the old folks say, and the results of his failure to listen to them. This piece by Mark R Lewis is arranged for SATB ensemble. All parts get the melody at some point and there are several duets between voices parts throughout the piece. Additionally the accompaniment voices switch between homophonic harmonies and arpeggiating chords several times for increased complexity and interest. The instrumental parts consist of vibraphone, piano, bass guitar, and floor tom parts. Any mellow metallophone would be an appropriate substitute for the vibraphone and the bass guitar part can be played on almost any bass instrument. The optional floor tom could be substituted with any other lower, resonant drum available but should not be a short, sharp sound. All that said, both the vibraphone and bass guitar parts are mostly doubled in the piano or vocal lines so groups that do not have access to those instruments should still be able to perform this piece without concern. This piece is also available for Vocal Trio w/ Mixed Ensemble and the sound files sampled here are from that arrangement. Vocal Range: d minor Soprano - 1+ octave (D4 to E5) Alto - 1+ octave (A3 to D5) Tenor - 1+ octave (C3 to D4) Bass - 1+ octave (F2 to A3) Instrumental Range: Vibraphone - 1+ octave (D4 to E5) Piano - ability to reach at least an octave in both hands Bass guitar - 1+ octave (E2 to A3).

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1001566 Composed by Alan Silvestri and Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. A Cappella. Octavo. 12 pages. Mark R Lewis #6566881. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1001566). Disney's 2002 movie Lilo & Stitch tells the story of an alien experiment that crash-lands on Earth and must learn how to behave himself. The story is set in Hawai'i and as such incorporates Hawai'ian culture into the story frequently. The movie opens with the song Hawai'ian Roller Coaster Ride, performed by Mark Keali'I Ho'Omal. This arrangement by Mark Lewis is for six part Men's Ensemble, including a vocal percussion part. It was written as an assignment for Pentatonix's Fall 2021 arranging class. With a call and response feel, the incorporation of Hawai'ian language lyrics, and a simple vocal percussion part, this arrangement is ideal for a group of intermediate singers who are looking at joining the world of a cappella music. The quick lyrics and fun style provides a bit of a challenge that should not be overwhelming. You can find other arrangements by Mark R Lewis at http://www.makingjoyfulmusic.com/storefront.html.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB Chorus) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1516690 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 11 pages. Mark R Lewis #1090863. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1516690). The text for “Where Is Hope?” is adapted from the Lamentations Chapter 3 and is an expression of hopelessness, almost depression. The text starts out with the singer feeling lost, alone, and in pain. As the song progresses, the singer remembers God’s promises to always help and be with us. By the end of the song, the singer has regained hope and is triumphant and comforted. First and foremost, the music is very much intended to support the lyrical content of this song.Throughout the song, the key switches from major to minor (both parallel and relative) quite frequently. The piece starts with a very free section with almost no tempo alternating between just voices and simple piano accompaniment. The middle sections have stricter tempo and more active piano accompaniment and the final section increases in speed and excitement with piano truly accompanying the voices instead of just mostly mirroring them. Throughout the piece, meter always follows word stress so there are a surprising number of time signature changes with lyrical clarity always being more important than strict meter. All that said, the rhythms are not too difficult throughout the song and while there are some dissonant harmonies, the musical lines themselves should be singable by most intermediate choirs.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1045075 Composed by Traditional Latin. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Classical,Holiday,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 8 pages. Mark R Lewis #649637. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1045075). O Come, O Come Emmanuel is an ancient Latin hymn associated with the Vespers services leading up to Christmas. This SATB divisi arrangement by Mark R Lewis imitates the tradition of Latin plainsong but is fully modern in conception. While this arrangement is not too extreme in terms of notes and rhythms, it will stretch the limits of many singers' vocal ranges and incorporates some complex harmonies. The arrangement incorporates a pedal note drone that can be played on any instrument. There is an optional hand drum part. While this arrangement does work with only the drone accompaniment, Mark has also published string orchestra and woodwind ensemble settings that work wonderfully as accompaniment to the vocal setting. The audio sample for this item is from the vocal trio arrangement of this piece that Mark has published. Vocal Range: Key of d minor Soprano - 1 1/2 octaves (C4 - A5 {opt. Bb5}) Alto - 1 + octaves (A3 - Bb4) Tenor - 1 + octaves (C3 - D4) Bass - 1 1/2 octaves ({opt. D2} F2 - C4).

Handbell - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1076419 Composed by R. Kelso Carter. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Praise & Worship,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 7 pages. Mark R Lewis #680575. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1076419). Standing on the Promises is a fun hymn from the mid-1800s. It was written by R. Kelso Carter, a Methodist minister and teacher at the Pennsylvania Military Academy. The tune has a martial feel and has been a standard in many church hymnals since it was written. This arrangement by Mark R Lewis is for 3-5 octave handbell choir. There are very few bell changes but the tempo is quite upbeat leading to some difficulties, especially in the fanfare-like introduction. The arrangement is also in 12/8 which may appear difficult but allows a triplet feel more similar to how most people would actually sing the the dotted-eighth/sixteenth rhythms in the original tune. Most intermediate groups should be able to perform this arrangement with practice. The AGEHR ranking would be level 3.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1045440 Composed by Irish Folk Song. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Traditional. Octavo. 26 pages. Mark R Lewis #650020. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1045440). This fun Irish folk song has been arranged by Mark R Lewis for TTBB ensemble with an accompanying solo instrumental line. The song uses the hymn tune Kingsfold and the lyrics are thought to have been written by Cathay MacGarvey in the late 1800s. Each part gets the melody for a verse and there is a fun diversion into 6/8 for the Tenor 1s in the 3rd verse. This score comes with options to play the instrumental line on C, Bb, or Eb instruments. The vocal parts are not too difficult but the instrumentalist will need to be moderately advanced, especially if they choose to take the optional ad lib verse instead of the written out solo, which is already rather towards the extreme of the instrument's range.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1045083 Composed by American Folk Hymn. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Folk,Holiday,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 41 pages. Mark R Lewis #649647. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1045083). The tune for Star in the East first appears in print in The Southern Harmony collection, but is well attested as an American Folk Hymn. The lyrics are partially anonymous but most published versions include verses that seem to have been added by the arranger of that version. This Epiphany song has similar themes to We Three Kings but is definitely a refreshing change from that well known tune. This fun arrangement by Mark R Lewis is for Baritone soloist, SATB choir, a woodwind instrument, and bass instrument. Included is sheet music for C, Bb, and Eb instruments and a bass line which can be played by many different bass instruments depending on what the group has available. The instrumentalists can transpose their parts to different octaves for ease of playing if necessary. The Baritone soloist should be a well experienced intermediate singer and the bass line is very active at times, but the choir and woodwind parts should be performable by most intermediate groups. Also available for Baritone Solo w/ TTB ensemble, which is showcased in the sound samples included here. Vocal Range: f minor Baritone solo - 1 1/2 octaves (Bb2 to F4) Soprano -
