Rather it dwells on the comfort that the risen Christ can bring to those who mourn. This is an expansion and elaboration of H. T. Burleigh's 1917 arrangement, with a new second verse with fresh melodic alterations and a new piano accompaniment and piano bridge. The added length (total running time just under 3-1/2 minutes) makes it more usable in church and in recitals. This version is in C minor, more accessible to many singers than Burleigh's original in F minor.

Some syncopation will challenge the early intermediate students rhythmic counting and precision. An optional cello part is included. Play this as a piano solo or offer your student the opportunity to experience chamber music with a friend. The cello part is also at an intermediate level.
