Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552830). Very strong arrangement for Easter. Duration: 2:48. 84 ms. Score: 7 pg. Solo part 1 pg. piano part 3 pg. Morning Has Broken is a popular and well-known Christian hymn first published in 1931. It has words by English author Eleanor Farjeon and was inspired by the village of Alfriston in East Sussex, then set to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune known as Bunessan [1] (it shares this tune with the 19th century Christmas Carol Child in the Manger[2]). It is often sung in children's services and in Funeral services.[3] English pop musician and folk singer Cat Stevens included a version on his 1971 album Teaser and the Firecat. The song became identified with Stevens due to the popularity of this recording. It reached number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, number one on the U.S. easy listening chartin 1972,[4] and number four on the Canadian RPM Magazine charts. The hymn originally appeared in the second edition of Songs of Praise (published in 1931), to the tune Bunessan, composed in the Scottish Islands. In Songs of Praise Discussed, the editor, Percy Dearmer, explains that as there was need for a hymn to give thanks for each day, English poet and children's author Eleanor Farjeon had been asked to make a poem to fit the lovely Scottish tune. A slight variation on the original hymn, also written by Eleanor Farjeon, can be found in the form of a poem contributed to the anthology Children's Bells, under Farjeon's new title, A Morning Song (For the First Day of Spring), published by Oxford University Press in 1957. The song is noted in 9/4 time but with a 3/4 feel. Bunessan had been found in L. McBean's Songs and Hymns of the Gael, published in 1900.[5] Before Farjeon's words, the tune was used as a Christmas carol, which began Child in the manger, Infant of Mary, translated from the Scottish Gaelic lyrics written by Mary MacDonald. The English-language Roman Catholic hymnal also uses the tune for the James Quinn hymns, Christ Be Beside Me and This Day God Gives Me, both of which were adapted from the traditional Irish hymn St. Patrick's Breastplate. Another Christian hymn, Baptized In Water, borrows the tune. -Wikipedia

A lovely musical vocal duet between a child and Jesus Christ.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.  A musical conversation between a child and Jesus Christ. Text:Child: See me, O Lord. Draw near to my soul. Make my faith stronger than gold. Give eye, and shine forth; let light fill thy face. And comfort me with thy embrace. Christ:When vast darkness masks the sun, do not be afraid. I'm in the heavens, yet this earth I made. I created hearts to see, even through each cloud. I'll also help grow faith when one does not doubt. Christ:Some long trials hide my face, though I see you still.I've perfect vision, and hope to instill. Temporal spheres are not to keep; this life's not your own. Trudging through mortality readies one for Home. Child:Some long trials hide your face, though you see me; see me still. You've perfect vision and hope to instill. Temporal spheres are not to keep; this life's not my own. Trudging through mortality readies one for Home. Christ:Even I felt Father gone on my lonely cross, He'll never leave you, for I paid that loss. Come and claim God's promises; His gifts are in store.Love and light will shine bright through heaven's door. Child:See me, O Lord. I am near to thy soul With sure faith stronger than gold. I look and see pure light in thy face, Then I feel thy warm embrace.Christ:I give you pure light, my pure light, Then you feel my warm embrace.

Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033094 Composed by M.E. Speer. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Mary Speer #6072753. Published by Mary Speer (A0.1033094). This piece is great for young children beginning adults alike. First, there is an Alberti bass in the left hand for most of the piece; Alberti bass is a patterned bass used by the likes of Mozart, and it is a relatively easy way to allow for the suspension of a chord.  The pedaling for this piece can also teach students how to change the pedal when changing chord harmonies in a fairly simplified pattern that usually lasts a measure.  The dynamic markings are sparse at this point, but guide the student to start paying attention to loud and soft dynamics, and it is a good learning lesson about breaks and pauses in the music at the end of one patterned phrase and beginning of another.  The music itself leaves a lot of room for emotive expression because one can play with a rubato that allows one to stretch some measures to emphasize certain harmonies.  The whole piece sounds as if it were a setting of fairy tale set in the misty mountains complete with wizards, elves, and princesses.  It is perfect for an ambient and poetic mood of a player who would like to learn a relatively simple piece.  To practice this piece, try perfecting each section before going on to the next.

Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1285298 Composed by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV. 21 pages. Derek Hasted #876414. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1285298). FEED THE BIRDS (from Mary Poppins) - GUITAR DUETFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric GuitarDerek Hasted writes This delightful melody features in the film “Mary Poppinsâ€, where its beauty, simplicity and elegance really make this humble piece shine out.My arrangements for two guitars include all the verses and the instrumental break, wrapped up in two accessible arrangements that feel comfortable for both players. There are two arrangements in this one edition...The student/teacher version gives one player the vocal line - one note at once - and the other player an accompaniment comprising chords, arpeggios and melody. The performance version swaps roles at phrase boundaries, giving more interest for players and audience alike, and which makes the two parts equal in standard.I have included some fingering for the accompaniment so that it’s clear which positions are used, and there are skeleton dynamics that reflect the different textures in the arrangement. Please feel free to add more to make the performance yours.I hope you enjoy playing this lovely and moving piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by number of instruments, with links to soundclips and sample score.

Choral Choir (2-Part) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1078256 Composed by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. Arranged by Jason Liu. Broadway,Children,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Pop,Standards. Octavo. 12 pages. Jason Liu #682462. Published by Jason Liu (A0.1078256). Taken from Disney's 1964 film Mary Poppins, this song was sung by Mary Poppins instructing the two children to clean their room. The song was partly inspired by the polio vaccine taken by the songwriter's son, which was evident in the famous line A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine goes down. This arrangement was largely referencing the original movie soundtrack. The simple 2-part treble chorus, suitable for beginner and intermediate levels, is supported by the vivid and colourful piano accompaniment.
