Large Ensemble B-Flat Trumpet,Bass Trombone,Horn,Tenor Trombone,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1036437 Composed by P. F. Strohm. 20th Century,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Jazz. Score and parts. 108 pages. Pete Strohm Music #641461. Published by Pete Strohm Music (A0.1036437). Dialogue (for Brass Ensemble) from American composer P. F. Strohm, is an up-tempo, jazz-based work written for a 10-part ensemble, comprised of two brass quintets, one using tuba and one using bass trombone. The antiphonal scoring with the two quintets makes the work ideal for brass sections looking for a hard-hitting showpiece. It employs two quintet groupings to create straight-ahead, ensemble energy. The two quintets trade off melodic and rhythmic figures throughout the opening. In the mid-section, two trumpets and the soprano sax trade solo lines, then combine in a riveting climax. The two quintets then trade tight, challenging phrases as the piece rockets to a big tutti ending. Dialogue is an exciting work for contest or concert, and has a Medium-Advanced level of difficulty. Total performance time is 4:00. Member, ASCAP.

Piano,Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1216985 Composed by Saint-Saëns, Camille (1835-1921). Arranged by Kamada, Mikio. 20th Century,Opera. Score and part. 9 pages. ACORDO Sheet Music #813513. Published by ACORDO Sheet Music (A0.1216985). The story of Samson and Delilah is found in the Old Testament. Gaza, an ancient city of Israel, was once ruled by the Philistines. However, the Hebrew hero Samson killed the governor of Gaza. In revenge, the Philistine beauty Delilah tempted Samson to reveal his weakness. This led to the aria Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix, sung at the climax of Delilah's seduction. The aria, written for a mezzo-soprano, beautifully expresses the seductive atmosphere and Delilah's intense passion. It's considered one of the finest arias in all opera. In the scores, the solo part plays both Delilah's and Samson's parts. In the duets period, Delilah's part is played by the piano and the solo instrument plays Samson's part. Samson's part is written in a lower range, emphasizing the contrast with Delilah's part. The original piece is written in D-flat major, which can be challenging for some string players. This version is transposed to G major for their convenience.

Concert band - Digital Download SKU: IZ.CBS151-S Composed by Britt Burns. Score. 17 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CBS151-S. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBS151-S). 9 x 12 in inches.March of the Arachnids was composed with the intention of being music for the Halloween season, although it could beperformed at other times in the year. The early sketch was written in 2008, although the work wasn't fully realized until theSpring of 2011. The work is dedicated to my composer friend, Joseph Eidson, whose music largely inspired theorchestration and harmonic material for this piece.Creepy, energetic, dissonant, and playful - these adjectives best describe the work. It begins with the solo timpani thatimmediately sets the sneaking tone for the arachnids that have begun crawling. After a build-up in the woodwinds, thetrumpets introduce the terror with the main arachnid theme. From there, the tune is shared throughout the ensemble, givingnearly every instrument a chance to play the arachnid theme. A contrasting, calmer theme is introduced, simply to give ussome hope and relief that the arachnids will leave. The piece gradually grows more thick and dissonant over time, withwebby textures of woodwinds and muted brass. A short coda with the full ensemble ends the work where the piece reachesits climax.

After the somewhat bold introduction, the first theme brings a simple sense of comfort. The trumpets then stand proudly with a feeling of strength and confidence. After a climax we are led to a slightly contemplative section. The ending is filled with a recapitulation of the main theme accompanied with the music box. Rest and comfort come through with the sounding of the final chord. This title is available in SmartMusic.

Large Ensemble Cello,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Multi-Percussion,Trombone,Viola - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533688 Composed by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 26 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3038603. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533688). Concerto for Bass Trombone and Six Players (2006) was commissioned by the CarnegieMellon School of Music for the Carnegie Mellon Contemporary Ensemble, Walter Morales, director. The work is dedicated to trombonist Jim Siders, for whom the solo part was written. The work is scored for solo bass trombone with an ensemble of primarily “dark†instruments– alto flute, clarinet, viola, cello, contrabass, and percussion. The solo bass trombone is thefocal point of the musical discourse, acting throughout largely as a protagonist – with muchmaterial best described as bitterly lyrical. The work maintains a generally dark, obsessive, and bitter tone throughout.Unlike some concerti, however, the work is not about an aggression between soloist and therest of the ensemble. Rather the bass trombone is “first†among a collection of like mindedindividuals – all expressing the same sentiments and aggressions. The opening section is marked “spasmodic.†Quiet nervous twitches serve as a backdrop to amelodic unfolding of the basic material and interval content. The end of this part “breaksapart†to reveal a section marked “slow, otherworldly.†The harmonic material starts modal, open, and “distant†in feeling (perhaps a recollection of a distant past) before becominggradually gnarled again. The trombone leads towards the next section: an ever-building athletic “moto perpetuo.†Thisreaches its peak in an aggressive and horribly angry climax – with a wide-ranging trombonepart marked “wildly raving; insane, uglyâ€, obliterated by bass drum hits and shriekinghammer blows from the other instruments.A nervous and timid interlude returns to the nervous twitching of the opening – thougheverything is slightly slower and more hushed than before, finally breaking off into anenigmatic coda.Alto FluteClarinet in BbPercussion (1 player):bass drum, marimba, crotales(Percussionist needs one rosined bow for crotales.)ViolaCelloContrabassThis is the score only.   The score and parts are sold as another item

Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.996561 Composed by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby. Arranged by Rebecca J. Wood. Contemporary. Octavo. 5 pages. Rebecca J. Wood #5324813. Published by Rebecca J. Wood (A0.996561). Hear 30 second clip, beginning at measure 1.  Arrangement about 1 min 30 secs performance time.  This arrangement has a surprise ending, so the title needs to be just Angels.  The chords bring wonderful emotions which climax at m 52, followed by the surprise ending, the heart-swell.  Could be done by YWIH, high school age girls or Women's Choruses.  Use for shows, but not for Competition.  Some churches might allow it for Mother's Day services.  Feedback would be appreciated.  After thinking about ANGELS, I HAVE TO TELL YOU the most important line in the song.  After the Daddy tells the child what angels are, he says, They call them angels in Heaven (beautiful spot in the son), but we call them MOTHERS down here.  Such a tear-jerker, I think!!

SATB choir divisi a cappella - Digital Download SKU: MQ.41-96660-E Composed by Gary R. Schwartzhoff and Ivo Antognini. Octavo. 10 pages. Colla Voce Music - Digital #41-96660-E. Published by Colla Voce Music - Digital (MQ.41-96660-E). Antognini’s Ubi Caritas is a choral composition for mixed choir in rondo form, ABACAD. Each time that the A theme occurs, it is subject to small melodic and harmonic changes. On two occasions, we also find the famous plainchant melody (bars 25-26 and 36-41) in the soprano voice. In bar 55, the second part of the main theme starts a fourth higher than before, creating a sense of surprise. Beginning from here, the excitement rises and leads to the climax at bar 68 (glorianter vultum tuum: Thy face in glory). Just after this, there is a joyful and rhythmic coda that begins on the text “Gaudium quod est immensum†(The joy that is immense), followed by three Amens that take us back to the initial key (F), but in major mode. Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.719653 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Christian,Christmas,Sacred. Octavo. 9 pages. Curtis Hanson #506457. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719653). The awe and mystery of the night of all nights is never more exemplified than in this setting of Silent Night for mixed chorus and organ (or piano) and optional handbells. Beginning at a hushed pianissimo, the dynamics grow to a glorious fortissimo at the close of the third verse. Intended for a chorus with limited male voices, this setting features the men in unison melody on the first and third verses. Three-part women sing the second and provide the counterpoint to the men on the third. After the climax, the work diminishes to the quiet solemnity heard at the beginning. This piece is sure to be the highlight of any holiday program or worship service. An SATB version of the piece is available from Beautiful Star Publishing.

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030355 Composed by David Wang. Contemporary. Score and parts. 34 pages. David Wang NecroDavid #6247085. Published by David Wang NecroDavid (A0.1030355). Induced Hope for String Orchestra is written through the inspiration of multiple pieces. There are three short sections. The first section consists of a joyful and brilliant major opening and transition to a minor tonality. The first section features some bends and special percussive sound effects. The second section is a romantic ballad, which explores tension and release cycles which resolves dissonant chords and create a relaxing feeling. The last section is sudden and abrupt, and begins with an unusual 7/4 fast pattern. The melody first plays on high strings and then varied on the low strings to create contrast. It builds up into a climax and finish with a few powerful and chords in rhythmic unison.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017072 Composed by Eoin Buchanan. Contemporary. Score and parts. 87 pages. 7plc Music #6079111. Published by 7plc Music (A0.1017072). At the centre of the Norfolk city of Norwich lies Tombland. The name evokes thoughts of haunting, death and Black Plague burial pits. Actually Tombland simply means empty space and it was here that Norwich market was sited. Violence seems to have been a recurring theme in the history of Tombland. In 1549 Robert Kett led a rebellion against the enclosure of common land. After a fierce attack on Bishop Bridge, Kett and his band of followers gained access to the city and took the Mayor, Thomas Codd, prisoner. Having spent a number of years as a clergyman in the Diocese of Norwich, I can tell you that this area is very different nowadays. However, its Normal cathedral and older buildings still offer a sense of struggles past, present and future. Inspired by Ray Sampson’s book, Tombland, this original work for full orchestra uses harmonic and rhythmic dissonance to portray the violent and oppressive struggle between those with and ‘those without. The blacksmith’s anvil heralds village life with church bells sounding and flute introducing children playing in the village square. Very quickly the scene changes as Basses offer a deep threatening tone and slowly the rhythmic confusion builds to an eventual climax. Horns then introduce a quasi carillon Dies Irae theme and flutes and piccolo enter with a haunting bird call until low strings and Cor Anglais begin the build up to chaos once again. The work’s false, dying ending suddenly gives way to a sacred style chorale leading to the very abrupt Malcolm Arnold style ending.
