Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1199863 Composed by Frank Loesser and Hoagy Carmichael. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Jazz,Pop,Standards. Score. 2 pages. John Fries #798773. Published by John Fries (A0.1199863). Please contact me by email at jfries@ptd.net to make a special request or to find out all that I have to offer and to express your comments or concerns.  You can also type John Fries in the searchbar to see all I have to offer.  The song tells of a young couple in love, who, despite being sleepy, sit up together until dawn because they don't want to say good night and part. Be that as it may, this looks suspiciously like a censorship issue, and as a song that debuted in a movie, it would be subject to the restrictions of the Production Code. Later on, in 1957, the Everly Brothers' Wake Up, Little Susie was banned in Boston, because it told of a dating couple who fell asleep at the movies and would be scandalously late coming home.

SATB Chorus,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1506542 Composed by Frank Loesser and Hoagy Carmichael. Arranged by Mark Jennings. A Cappella,Barbershop,Film/TV,Jazz,Standards. Barbershop Quartet. 8 pages. Mark Jennings #1081906. Published by Mark Jennings (A0.1506542). A light-hearted easy swing Hoagy Carmichael tune that is normally presented as a conversation between a married couple. For a barbershop quartet, it would ideally be sung by a 2 + 2 male/female configuration, although other configurations could possibly be made to work. In this arrangement, the verse and the first chorus have the melody in the lead line, but the melody could be divided between lead and baritone as desired, so positioning those two in the center of the quartet would make sense. In the second chorus, the first A section hasbass melody and the second A section has tenor melody, so it would make sense for all to switch places to position those two in the center spots. From the second B section to the end of the song, use any convenient configuration.
