John and Michelle Phillips wrote this song during a chill winter in New York in 1963. California Dreamin' is a number one hit from John and Michelle Phillips (who were members of the folk group the New Journeymen, which later evolved into the Mamas and the Papas). Originally written in C#-minor this version transposed to C-minor to make it easier for you to follow (for example on the piano). You can accompany it with the piano using the chords given above or let your choir sing A-capella. The special part about this arrangement is the constant change of melody between the different voices. The iconic flute solo is not included in this arrangement but can be simply added between the second chorus and the Dal Segno.
