String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742477 Composed by Alexander Borodin. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Concert,Easter,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and parts. 31 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #4602739. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742477). Alexander Porfiryevich Borodin (Russian: ÐлекÑаÌндр ПорфиÌрьевич БородиÌн, IPA: [Élʲɪkˈsandr pÉrˈfʲi rʲjɪvʲɪtÉ• bÉ™rÉˈdʲin] (12 November 1833 – 27 February 1887) was a Russian chemist and Romantic musical composer ofGeorgian ancestry. He was one of the prominent 19th-century composers known as The Mighty Handful, a group dedicated to producing a uniquely Russian kind of classical music, rather than imitating earlier Western European models.[3][4][5]Borodin is known best for his symphonies, his two string quartets, the symphonic poem In the Steppes of Central Asia and his opera Prince Igor. Music fromPrince Igor and his string quartets was later adapted for the US musical Kismet. A doctor and chemist by profession, Borodin made important early contributions to organic chemistry. Although he is presently known better as a composer, during his lifetime, he regarded medicine and science as his primary occupations, only practising music and composition in his spare time or when he was ill. As a chemist, Borodin is known best for his work concerning organic synthesis, including being among the first chemists to demonstrate nucleophilic substitution, as well as being the co-discoverer of the aldol reaction. Borodin was a promoter of education in Russia and founded the School of Medicine for Women in Saint Petersburg, where he taught until 1885. Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Borodin

Woodwind Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.996124 Composed by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. Arranged by Erik Cole. Romantic Period. 15 pages. Erik Cole #4793071. Published by Erik Cole (A0.996124). This is a transcription of the complete Pictures at an Exhibition for double reed choir. It is all in the original keys and based on the well-known Ravel orchestration, which is quite difficult. As a result, this arrangement is even more challenging. It is designed with at least 2 players per part in mind, and all of the oboe and bassoon parts are divisi throughout. The attached MP3 recordings are multi-track recordings of me playing all the parts. This was, by far, the most daunting recording I have put together for any of my arrangements, and I apologize for any minor imperfections in timing or pitch. In many places, this really stretched the limits of what I am capable of on bassoon. This movement is the only one with enough low notes to really need two contrabassoons. Many groups won’t have that, and the harmonies actually work better leaving out the lowest note in those spots. The prominent contra parts in this movement make it pretty obvious that the MP3’s were made without access to one at all.

Brass Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.766978 Composed by Traditional English Christmas Carol. Arranged by Bob Delfausse. Christmas,Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 25 pages. Robert Delfausse #3259685. Published by Robert Delfausse (A0.766978). 2017 Holiday Contest EntryThis is a challenging quintet, but I think a very rewarding one.  I tried to make this familiar carol into a genuine set of variations, and one way I did this was to have each stanza (one for each of the 12 days) in a different major key, ascending by half-step all the way.  I hope you'll agree that the stanzas present many other kinds of variety as well--texture, tempo, mood, etc. There are quotations of many seasonal hymns and songs, most often used as transitions/modulations between stanzas.  Jeanette Isabella, one of my favorites, has a more prominent role. Other than playing in all keys, the demands on the players are not extreme (though it's definitely a blow).  Duration: 4 minutes, 33 seconds.  Enjoy! .
