Easy Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1416228 By Martina McBride. By Stuart K. Hine and Traditional Swedish Folk Tune. Arranged by Ken Litton. Christian,Instructional,Praise and Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. Artist of Note, Inc. #997260. Published by Artist of Note, Inc. (A0.1416228). How Great Thou Art MEDIUM EASY PIANOStuart K. Hine served as a British Methodist missionary for a time in Ukraine. In 1931 he heard the Russian translation of a German song inspired by Carl Boberg's poem O Store Gud (O Great God). Hine translated the song to English and added verses. The central theme appears in the third verse: And when I think that God, His Son not sparing, sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in. Mr. Hine and his family left Ukraine as famine and World War Two began, settling in Somerset, Britain, where he continued to serve in missionary efforts. And, although several competing translations appeared through the years, this version of the lyric was published in 1949 and quickly spread in popularity. It was first widely used, though after further introduction by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Team in its London Crusade of 1954, as well as in subsequent American meetings.Colossians 1:16Psalm 90:2Psalm 105:2Expressed simply and clearly for beginning pianists, with fingering suggestions for both teacher and player, itâ??s a perfect choice for prelude, brief offertory, recital or other occasions and itâ??s perfect for each of the stanzas from most hymnals.Soâ?¦check out other versions of How Great Thou Art, including EASY PIANO from Studio B ProductionsThanks, as always to the good folks at ArrangeMe.com, a division of Hal Leonard!

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.833867 By The Searchers. By Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Arranged by Michael Compton. Contemporary. Score and parts. 24 pages. Kreechur Kumfort Publishing #6479471. Published by Kreechur Kumfort Publishing (A0.833867). Written in 1959 by Lieber of Stoller, Love Potion Number 9 was first released by the Clovers who took it to number 23 on Billboard, then recorded by the Searchers who reached number 3 with it. The song describes a man seeking help to find love who then enlists the help of a gypsy who determines, by means of palmistry, that he needs love potion number 9. The potion, an aphrodisiac, causes him to fall in love with everything he sees, kissing whatever is in front of him, eventually kissing a policeman on the street corner, who breaks his bottle of love potion. This arrangement is set for intermediate level jazz band and has solo space for the piano - but can of course be passed off to any member.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.755101 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 124 pages. Sy Brandon #3384577. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.755101). Arizona Centennial Overture was commissioned by the Arizona Commission on the Arts as part of the Centennial Legacy Project to help celebrate Arizona’s centennial. There are three versions of the compositions, chamber orchestra, full orchestra, and band. The overture pays tribute to the unique blend of the various cultures that had a part in shaping Arizona into what it is today. This six and a half minute composition is divided into three main sections. The first section begins with fanfares that announce the celebration. After thirty seconds, the introduction fades into music that pays tribute to the pioneers that migrated to Arizona. The music has a rustic quality reflecting the pioneering spirit of the ranchers, farmers, miners, and merchants who came to Arizona seeking a better way of life. This section is intended to be inclusive as it is impossible to represent each culture individually in a short musical composition. The second section pays tribute to the various Native American cultures that are a large part of Arizona’s history and its present way of life. Flutes and percussion instruments are used in the beginning of this section to represent the Native American respect for nature. This quiet section evolves into a ceremonial dance that increases in intensity. Towards the end of this section one hears fragments of the pioneer melody as these culture come together. The third section is influenced by Mariachi music to recognize the Hispanic influence in Arizona. The first part uses an original rollicking tune with four beats to the measure over syncopation. The second part contains a lyrical melody with three beats to the measure accompanied by instruments playing accents that create the Hispanic sounding grouping of six notes into three groups of two alternating with two groups of three. A brief ending using the fanfares of celebration interspersed with figures from the Native American and pioneer sections brings the work to a rousing close. The score prints on legal size paper and the parts on letter.

Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497861 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 26 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074273. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497861). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Ritualise, Between the Octaves finally found its identity with the word ritualise. It began as announce, became pronounce, then declare and went as far a pontificate for a title. At that point I realised I was mocking my own music and needed to take it more seriously. Ritualise brought out a meaning to the music that I hadn’t wanted to admit to. It is quite folk-like, in a primal and entrancing kind of way. I can imagine a communal dance for some ceremonial purpose in this music with both public and private elements.Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Piano Duo is ideally two Steinway grands, otherwise, whatever is available. An enjoyment of the tensions and relationships generated between the two instruments: grand-upright, upright-electronic keyboard is to be explored as a positive. Each piece creates its own world in the suite and can be part of smaller subgroups taken from the suite, in any combination, but the order of the pieces needs to be maintained if more than one is played. Here is a taste of the background to the musical world of this 53 minute compositional suite. During a reflective time I read the following: The whole philosophy of dharma art (Buddhist art) is that you don't try to be artistic, but you just approach objects as they are, and the message comes through automatically. (Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, from 'True Perception The Path of Dharma Art.' Shambhala 2008, p.133.) The 'objects as they are' became the 'octaves as they are'. As the pieces were composed the octaves had a centring and clarifying role that allowed other material to circulate around or play against them. They acted as pivots, repetitions, drones, ostinati, pointillist nodes, pedals, melodic features, struts, harmonic turnpikes, breathing spaces, bass lines: musical imperatives. The octaves called the musical shots most of the time. When the music pulled a semitone up or down and away from the octaves (as it did quite often) it was especially telling in the context of the ringing spaces the octaves were creating. I became interested in the subtle dislocation that two pianos could provide. By dislocation I mean a degree of tension between the natural acoustics of the two instruments in the room and the players idiosyncrasies as musicians.  The whole point of this work was to examine the nature of my syntax, grammar, and compositional thinking. The title demanded one thing above all: what notes am I going to use between these octaves?? My choice of notes was derived in most instances from the tempo, pitch, and rhythm of the initial octaves at the beginning of each piece alongside the individual word titles that I set out to explore as musical images. The audio was developed from Sibelius software, via MIDI to Logic samples of a Steinway grand piano.

Tenor Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767084 Composed by Mike Lyons. Contemporary. 7 pages. Lyons Music Services #1646913. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767084). This is a setting of the poem The Rainy Day by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The music reflects both the gloominess of the first two stanzas and the hope of the final stanza. The text is very reflective, focussing on the thoughts of an older man as he looks at his life and sees the sadness and unpleasantness he has lived through, but eventually realises that everyone has these traumas at some point and one has to move on. There is always hope. The tempo should be relaxed but forward moving, giving the tenor the room he needs to shape the words.
