Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1089944 By Raluca Bojor. By Clara H. Scott. Arranged by Raluca Bojor. Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual,Traditional. Score. 4 pages. Raluca Bojor #694168. Published by Raluca Bojor (A0.1089944). This is the prefect piano hymn arrangement to play on Pentecost Sunday (or any other Sunday, for that matter). In this text, the author invites the Holy Spirit to transform her life by opening her eyes, her mouth, her ears. Each stanza ends with “illumine me, Spirit divine!†May that be our motto every day of our lives! The piano arrangement is structured in three sections (one style for each verse). In the first section the hands stay close to the middle register and the voicing is modest. And the oom-pah-pah rhythms will give it a light bounce that will bring a smile to whoever plays or listens. On the second verse the hands move to a higher register where the music suddenly becomes more delicate. Think of a music box! Lastly, on the third verse we pull all the stops! Large leaps in the left hand between the bass note and the chords plus full chords and octaves in the right hand. Download the PDF sheet music now:.

Published by ScoresbyAlex (A0.1032606). This is a beautiful and accessible 21st Century, Neo-Romantic a cappella setting of the Spanish Hail Mary prayer (Dios te salve, María) for SATB chorus, perfect for choirs ranging from high school to college and beyond. It also includes an alternate setting of the Latin Ave Maria prayer for those who might prefer that. (Here’s a link to the premiere performance: https://soundcloud.com/musicoalex/dios-te-salve-maria?in=musicoalex/sets/my-compositions.) A versatile musician, Alex Guerrero, whose setting of Tenebrae factae sunt was a prize winner in The New York Virtuoso Singers’ composition competition, always strives to write lyrical music that’s not only beautiful, but singable. He’s also an accomplished singer whose vast experience greatly informs his compositional style. As an operatic lyric tenor he performs with the Choruses at The Metropolitan Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago; as a concert soloist his repertoire spans from Bach cantatas, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, and frequent premieres of new music; and he has many years of experience performing as a chamber and concert choral artist with some of the premier ensembles in the US that include Yale Choral Artists and the Grammy Award-winning True Concord, as well as the symphonic choruses alongside world-renown orchestras like The Philadelphia Orchestra and The New York Philharmonic. He’s also an active liturgical musician in churches and synagogues with many years of experience serving in congregations of many different denominations: in New York City he’s served in the choirs at Temple Emanu-El, the largest Jewish Reform congregation in the US, the Anglican-style choir of men and boys at St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, Marble Collegiate Church, pulpit of the late Norman Vincent Peale, Congregation Shearith Israel - The Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, an Orthodox Sephardi congregation which is the oldest Jewish congregation in North America, and is currently a staff cantor at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, one of the preeminent Roman Catholic cathedrals in the US.

SATB choir - Digital Download SKU: LX.65-1915LA A strikingly vivid and thoughtful portrayal. Composed by Gregg Sewell. Choral Cantatas. Christmas. Cant. 48 pages. Laurel Press #e65/1915LA. Published by Laurel Press (LX.65-1915LA). UPC: 000308051353. Text: Larry Hoffsis.God created the world by speaking into the silence of chaos. Ever creative, he offers salvation to us, breaking the silence surrounding our lives by speaking through his son, Jesus the Christ. This unique Christmas work examines the ways in which God has spoken to us from creation to the birth of Christ Child. God's creative word comes to us through the angels, the shepherds, the Wise Men and through the Babe of Bethlehem himself. The orchestrations are distinctive, and the choral parts are moderately easy, yet full-sounding.

Alto Voice,Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1387467 By András Csáki (guitar) and Bernadett Nagy (alto). By David Warin Solomons. Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 259. David Warin Solomons #971321. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1387467). Poem by Baudelaire (from Les Fleurs du mal). The guitar part contains many tremolo and harmonics effects. The hour approacheth, when, as their stems incline,The flowers evaporate like an incense urn,And sounds and scents in the vesper breezes turn;A melancholy waltz — and a drowsiness divine. The flowers evaporate like an incense urn,The viol vibrates like the wailing of souls that repine.A melancholy waltz — and a drowsiness divine,The skies like a mosque are beautiful and stern. The viol vibrates like the wailing of souls that repine;Sweet souls that shrink from chaos vast and etern,The skies like a mosque are beautiful and stern,The sunset drowns within its blood-red brine.Sweet souls that shrink from chaos vast and etern,Essay the wreaths of their faded Past to entwine,The sunset drowns within its blood-red brine,Thy thought within me glows like an incense urn.— Cyril Scott, Baudelaire: The Flowers of Evil (London: Elkin Mathews, 1909).

Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497861 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 26 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074273. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497861). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Ritualise, Between the Octaves finally found its identity with the word ritualise. It began as announce, became pronounce, then declare and went as far a pontificate for a title. At that point I realised I was mocking my own music and needed to take it more seriously. Ritualise brought out a meaning to the music that I hadn’t wanted to admit to. It is quite folk-like, in a primal and entrancing kind of way. I can imagine a communal dance for some ceremonial purpose in this music with both public and private elements.Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Piano Duo is ideally two Steinway grands, otherwise, whatever is available. An enjoyment of the tensions and relationships generated between the two instruments: grand-upright, upright-electronic keyboard is to be explored as a positive. Each piece creates its own world in the suite and can be part of smaller subgroups taken from the suite, in any combination, but the order of the pieces needs to be maintained if more than one is played. Here is a taste of the background to the musical world of this 53 minute compositional suite. During a reflective time I read the following: The whole philosophy of dharma art (Buddhist art) is that you don't try to be artistic, but you just approach objects as they are, and the message comes through automatically. (Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, from 'True Perception The Path of Dharma Art.' Shambhala 2008, p.133.) The 'objects as they are' became the 'octaves as they are'. As the pieces were composed the octaves had a centring and clarifying role that allowed other material to circulate around or play against them. They acted as pivots, repetitions, drones, ostinati, pointillist nodes, pedals, melodic features, struts, harmonic turnpikes, breathing spaces, bass lines: musical imperatives. The octaves called the musical shots most of the time. When the music pulled a semitone up or down and away from the octaves (as it did quite often) it was especially telling in the context of the ringing spaces the octaves were creating. I became interested in the subtle dislocation that two pianos could provide. By dislocation I mean a degree of tension between the natural acoustics of the two instruments in the room and the players idiosyncrasies as musicians.  The whole point of this work was to examine the nature of my syntax, grammar, and compositional thinking. The title demanded one thing above all: what notes am I going to use between these octaves?? My choice of notes was derived in most instances from the tempo, pitch, and rhythm of the initial octaves at the beginning of each piece alongside the individual word titles that I set out to explore as musical images. The audio was developed from Sibelius software, via MIDI to Logic samples of a Steinway grand piano.
