Soloists, choir and orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q24858 Opera in 3 acts. Composed by Sir Michael Tippett. Choral music - Ernst Eulenburg - Score. Eulenburg Miniature Scores. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 150 minutes. Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital #Q24858. Published by Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital (S9.Q24858). English.Like few other theatre works—The Magic Flute, A Midsummer Night’s Dream—Tippett’s first opera creates a wholly other place, one where human actions can be seen as in a tilted mirror. Since this is indeed an opera, the place, or dreamspace, is conjured by music: by luminescent music that, in its flowing abundance, radiant harmonies and evocative wind colourings, represents the natural world within which the characters have to integrate themselves. The central couple, those whose marriage is at first subverted and then gloriously celebrated, are Mark and Jenifer: he a young man of the earth and the senses, she a young woman of lofty spirituality. Each is only half a person, and before they can be united they have to be made whole, have to find within themselves an understanding of the other. Overseeing their mythic initiation and psychic healing are two Ancients, votaries of a temple on a wooded hilltop. As in the Mozart precedent, which the composer certainly had in mind, there is also a more workaday couple, Jack and Bella. The other principals are Jenifer’s businessman father King Fisher, who wants to stop the wedding for reasons of his own, and an Erda-like seer. There is also a dancer, Strephon, leading the exuberant ballet in which the orchestra completes the story of enlightenment and passion. It is ultimately a victory of love and, before love, self-knowledge.(Paul Griffiths).

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596525 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Latin. Score. 7 pages. Juan Maria Solare #3621769. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596525). The piano piece Bad Hombres Jumping Over my Wall While Yelling '¡Arriba!, ¡Arriba!' was composed in Bremen, Germany, in August 2018, for the project 45miniatures by pianist Nick Phillips. The overall character of this piece responds vaguely to Nicholas Phillips' suggestion: playful/childish outbursts, in the form of heckler chords or bad hombre-like non-chord tones. The title depicts a surrealistic, clownesque, ridiculous situation; a dream for some and a nightmare for others. For those totally unaware: the expression Bad Hombres was used by president Donald Trump during the third 2016 United States Presidential Debate. While answering a question about his immigration policy, Donald Trump stated that there were a lot of drug lords in the United States and that they needed to be removed. He concluded his comment by saying we have some bad hombres here and we have to get them out. (thus implying that the responsible of US' drug problems are Latinos)Character and moods: happy, merry, mysterious. About the performance All the piece consists of mini clusters (two minor seconds). The notation can be sometimes obscure (due to the many unavoidable accidentals). To facilitate the reading (deciphering) of the score, the easiest is to follow the highest note of each cluster: they usually form a simple chord. For instance, bar 17 is (melodically speaking) a F7 chord. Got it? L = Left Hand R = Right Hand The verbal comments along the music are not meant to be actually read aloud, but alla mente (like in some Satie's music). However, if you want to recite them at concert, go ahead.Juan María Solare (http://www.JuanMariaSolare.com)

Piano Trio,String Ensemble Cello,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.938413 Composed by Colin Bayliss. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 59 pages. Colin Bayliss #9995. Published by Colin Bayliss (A0.938413). Piano Trio (B44) was written in the spring of 1991 for David Johnson and the trio which he was forming in Cologne. The work is in three movements:-1. Structures The three instruments build differing structural patterns based on a 12-note row. The violin and 'cello often complement each other, but the piano rarely joins them and tries to pull the music towards a diatonic tonal language, eventually succeeding to end in G major. The movement is in arch form, the second half being based on the retrogrades of the note row. 2. Textures Most forms of sound textures are used, including col legno and sul ponticello for the strings, while the piano occasionally employs soft-headed timpani sticks both on the keyboard and the interior of the instrument. Again the movement is in arch form, with a central section incorporating a miniature scherzo, with a trio section parodying the palm court trio style with a tune of sickly sentimentality. [ This movement may be played separately under the title Einer Kleiner Alptraum - A Little Night... mare] 3. Metamorphoses The notes which will eventually become a Scottish folk tune are hidden either in the repeated notes or in the left hand of the piano, either singly or in harmony. After a neo- classical exposition, using a serial melody, progress is quickly halted by the use of some of the notes of the folk tune being arranged into the theme of Weber's Turandot which was used by Hindemith in his Symphonic Metamorphoses . This pulls the music into a slightly more tonal frame work which becomes more pronounced after a reference to the theme of the slow movement of the Eroica symphony used in Richard Strauss' Metamorphosen. From then onwards, tonality, or rather modality, is established and the folk tune style is maintained with simplicity to the end, except for a miniscule coda reminiscent of the opening of the movement. The sound sample is a performance of the second movement Textures.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596631 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 4 pages. Juan Maria Solare #6608145. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596631). Juan María SolareEvaporación detenida (Stopped evaporation)for toy pianoThis miniature presents, through sound, two opposing worlds. The volatile, the stable. The movement and the static. The flurries and the columns. The fragment of the poem (by Javier Adúriz) that heads this work underlines the impossibility – and the wish – of opposing the ephemeral, of contradicting transience. Technically, this musical work is based on a harmonic field of semitone + minor third + whole tone, which actually includes all intervals from semitone to tritone. I call this harmonic field 'modo Verdi' in my notes, because he uses it (as scala enigmatica) in his Quattro Pezzi Sacri. Although it is conceived for toy piano, I do not object to this work being played on other keyboard instruments, nor to its being adapted for various instrumental duets. Evaporación detenida (Stopped evaporation or Evaporation at standstill) was composed in Bremen on October 30, 2021 in the framework of an invitation by the US-American keyboardist David Bohn (a native of Wisconsin), to whom it is dedicated. Duration: 1:00 Juan María Solare Juan María Solare (b. 1966 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a pianist and composer. He is active primarily in Bremen (Germany), where he teaches at the Hochschule für Künste and at the University. Editor of four piano albums for Ricordi (Universal Music) and a fifth for Peters Verlag (Leipzig).
