The classic Sibelius tune Finlandia has become the unofficial national anthem of Finland. This jazz arrangement is a new twist on a classic, prompted by a kid in my brass ensemble saying, why don't you do a jazz version of Finlandia - so I did. Finlandia did not originally have words. Finnish lyrics were added, written by V A Koskenniemi. They were accepted by Sibelius as the official libretto in 1942.

The English words are from a hymn We Would Be One written for the Unitarian Universalists.

This arrangement has both Finnish and English words.
