Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1189545 By Brian Golden. By Brian Golden. Arranged by Brian Golden. Classical,Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. Brian Golden #789177. Published by Brian Golden (A0.1189545). Prelude 1 in C Major Ionian from 24 Preludes for the Piano in Major and Minor Modes by composer Brian Golden.   The creative concept in writing these preludes is to provide a link to past preludes written for the keyboard, and in particular to the works of J.S. Bach and Frederic Chopin, whose works stand as essential repertoire for any student of the piano.  Using Bach’s and Chopin’s examples, my goal was to compose in all twenty-four keys, yet offer my own variation on the progression of key signatures – Bach’s being a pattern of major to parallel minor progressing chromatically through all keys, and Chopin’s a pattern of major to relative minor keys progressing clockwise through the circle of fifths.  In order to expand my harmonic and melodic possibilities, I have included the modal keys rather than only the major and harmonic minor keys, and have chosen to work counterclockwise through the circle of fifths, which is a more natural harmonic progression.  Therefore, all major preludes resolve from one to another V-I, as well as do all the minor preludes.   While there are seven modal scales, I decided to leave out the locrian modes for the following reasons.  First, due to the diminished fifth, the locrian mode cannot be thought of as either major nor minor.  Second, the locrian mode did not have a relative key to pair with, since there were no other keys with the identical characteristic notes.    In creating the key architecture, I determined that there was only one solution to pairing major and relative minor scales based on a shared parent key and characteristic note - ionian/aolian, mixolydian/phrygian and lydian/dorian.  This specific order of modal scales is the only order that would enable composing in all twelve key signatures.  Finally, the inspiration for each prelude came from playing through several other preludes in the same keys - mostly by Bach and Chopin - and letting their themes and styles influence me in the writing of my own.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.950766 Composed by Chris Monteiro. Christian,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 10 pages. Christopher M. Monteiro #3365211. Published by Christopher M. Monteiro (A0.950766). I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns! This lively and majestic canon is a fanfare for the great wedding of the Lamb and His bride. In a B-flat Mixolydian Mode for SATB Choir, it has been fashioned to help you internalize God’s Word. The range of the canon melody for sopranos and altos is from B-flat below Middle C to the 2nd D above Middle C. For tenors and basses, the canon melody is one octave lower. Each of the voices splits into two parts in the final measures, the 1st sopranos ending on the 2nd F above Middle C. The text of this song is from The World English Bible (WEB), a Public Domain (no copyright) Modern English translation of the Holy Bible based on the American Standard Version of the Holy Bible first published in 1901, the Biblia Hebraica Stutgartensa Old Testament, and the Greek Majority Text New Testament.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1493982 By Beka Wilson. By Beka Wilson. Arranged by Beka Wilson. Contemporary,Folk,Multicultural,World. Score. 3 pages. Beka Wilson #1070592. Published by Beka Wilson (A0.1493982). I started writing this song in 2020, around when I began playing the harp more often and when I first started writing my own original pieces. It went through several iterations, but what started out as an experiment in mixolydian mode turned out to be a calming piece that celebrates just being still. So often we pack our schedules to the brim, and burn out trying to do all the things. Lately I've come to appreciate the value of just stopping to breathe, to pray, to just be in the moment. Sometimes the best music happens in the space between notes. Length: approximately 3.5 minutes, 3 pagesLevel: late intermediate as written, early intermediate if you edit out the mordents and other ornamentations.

Flute Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.837512 Composed by Brett L. Wery. Instructional. Individual part. 96 pages. Sonata Grendel Publishing #6710119. Published by Sonata Grendel Publishing (A0.837512). A Tonal Lexicon for Flute is a complete method for scale and arpeggio training on flute. It contains the basic vocabulary of tonal music and includes: ·      Chromatic Scales·      Diminished Scale·      Dominant Seventh Chords·      Dorian Scales·      Full-Range Major Scales·      Full-Range Melodic Minor Scales·      Fully-Diminished Seventh Chords·      Half-Diminished Seventh Chords·      Harmonic Minor Scales·      Major Scales·      Major Seventh Chords·      Major Triads·      Melodic Minor Scale in Thirds·      Melodic Minor Scales·      Minor Seventh Chords·      Minor Triads·      Mixolydian Scales·      Natural Minor Scales·      Scales in Thirds·      Scales in Trills·      Whole Tone Scales Scales and arpeggios are ordered so that they progress logically, one to the other. This order contextualizes the melodic and harmonic structures so that the performer begins to develop a natural sense of how the scales and arpeggios function within a tonal framework. The scales and arpeggios are divided into three large units that include both major and minor keys, easy and difficult keys. The close relationship of each key is emphasized to build automaticity in fingering patterns. Enharmonic keys are represented in both spellings and non-diatonic scales such as whole tone and chromatic scales are spelled as they would be found in each of the fifteen key signatures. The use of octave designation symbols is avoided so that the player is able to acclimate themselves to the many ledger lines sometimes found in flute music. This is an essential book for any serious flute player who wishes to build reading acuity and fluency in any tonal setting.

A rapid 12/8 percussion ostinatato in the style of traditional Irish folk music sets up the second section and continues under the haunting Mixolydian melody. A drone-style accompaniment and interesting counter-melodies add to the excitement before the hymn returns in a glorious maestoso. This unique combination of musical elements makes for another thrilling and inspiring new work from John O'Reilly!
