'Landscape With Deserted House' is a piece of a dark and very individual character, almost a 'gothic piece'. The topos of the deserted house comes from the literature of Victorian England, but also points toward the present time, especially toward Northern Europe where, after half a century of migration from the countryside, countless houses and estates are unoccupied and left to decay. It is especially the percussion part of 'Landscape With Deserted House', mainly played on simple everyday objects, that refers to this aspect of the title while the other instruments create a sound space full of peculiar poetry in finely tuned mixtures. A piece which will delight every professional musician with experience in modern playing techniques.

Recuerdos de mi tierra - Cuarteto para ClarinetesEsta pieza evoca recuerdos de los años 90 cuando formaba parte de la Banda BASTLAM en la comunidad Mixe de Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca, México. Practicábamos el estilo Zapateado-Vals con solos y acompañamiento de banda. Cada instrumento tenía solos y tuttis únicos. En ese entonces, era innovador tocar como solista en un pueblo rico en cultura pero aislado y con limitado acceso a información y conocimientos formales de música. Prácticamente no existían bandas infantiles ni juveniles, por lo que la creación de la Banda Infantil-Juvenil-Bastlam fue uno de los primeros grandes proyectos impulsados por las autoridades municipales. Posteriormente, adoptaron el proyecto y continuaron formando bandas infantiles escalonadamente en dicha comunidad replicándose en otros pueblos y regiones de Oaxaca.El origen del zapateado es incierto. Se cree que proviene de las sevillanas, fandanguillos, bulerías y peteneras españolas, las cuales se fusionaron con elementos africanos. Sin embargo, fue en México donde este tipo de zapateado instrumental se arraigó y enriqueció en las bandas filarmónicas tradicionales de los pueblos oaxaqueños. El zapateado representa una fusión global entre culturas y sus representaciones. No existe ningún baile o forma musical completamente puro; todos son producto de mestizajes.

Es parte de una inscripción griega escrita en una columna de mármol puesta sobre la tumba que había hecho construir Sícilo para su esposa Euterpe, cerca de Trales (en Asia Menor), actual ciudad de Aydın, a unos 30 km de la ciudad costera de Éfeso (en Turquía) y datada en el siglo I aproximadamente. El autor es anónimo. El tema de El Epitafio de Seikilos (en griego Ἐπιτάφιος τοῦ Σεικίλου), es inscripción funeraria grabada hacia el siglo I en una columna de mármol. Bonita inscripción puesta sobre la tumba que había hecho construir un tal Sícilo (o Seikilos) para su esposa Euterpe en la actual ciudad de Aydın (en Turquía). Actualmente se encuentra en un museo en Dinamarca. La inscripción y su particular descripción de su musicalidad están precedidas por el siguiente texto:Soy una imagen de piedra. Seikilos me pone aquí, donde soy por siempre, señal de eterno recuerdo. El epitafio consta de este texto, sobre el que se anota la melodía cuya línea intermedia recoge la pronunciación aproximada en griego koiné: Brilla, mientras estás vivo, no estás triste, porque la vida es por cierto corta, y el tiempo exige su derecho.La melodía, escrita en Harmonia o Tonoi Griego frigio en la adaptación escrita, e hipofrigio en género diatónico, se desenvuelve en un ámbito de octava justa. La canción es melancólica, clasificada como skolion o 'canción para beber'. Se desconoce la velocidad (tempo) de la canción, ya que no está explicada en la notación. El ethos de la composición es equilibrado y está definido por la especie de octava (Harmonía o Tonoi) escogido (Frigio). No se pretende, aparentemente, expresar sentimientos de tristeza ni alegría.
