Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.763801 Composed by Nigel Williams. Sacred. Score. 3 pages. Nigel Williams #6504219. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763801). He shall feed me in a green pasture, and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort. The second verse of Psalm 23 provides the inspiration for this gentle and contemplative chorale with three short variations, The melodic and harmonic language is both modal and modern. The same solo stop can be used for each of the three variations, alternatively, as Carson Cooman demonstrates in this youtube recording, different registrations can be used, depending on what is available. Ideal repertoire in a service of worship where a reflective mood is required. If this music appeals, you might also enjoy browsing my organ arrangements published by The Lorenz Corporation.

Instrumental Duet Harp,Instrumental Duet,Viola - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1039821 Composed by David M. Sterrett. Classical,Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 49 pages. David Sterrett Music #644665. Published by David Sterrett Music (A0.1039821). This piece depicts the story of the Penitent Thief, one of the two other men who hung on a cross beside Jesus, as told in the Bible: One of the thieves who were hanged by Jesus was hurling abuse at him, saying, 'Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!' But the other answered, and rebuking him, said, 'Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? We indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.' And he was saying, 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom!' And Jesus said to him, 'Truly I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.' (Luke 23:39-43) I initially set out to portray the scene from a narrative perspective. As I began composing and felt the story resonate more and more with my own spiritual experiences, I decided to shift the focus onto what I imagined the emotional and spiritual experiences of the Penitent Thief were during this brief but transformative interaction with Jesus right before death. While the passage does not describe his internal experience, I imagine that Jesus’ extension of kindness and mercy, along with the promise ā€œToday you will be with me in Paradise,ā€ profoundly impacted him. In composing this, I hoped to convey that transformative encounter. Ultimately, The Penitent Thief depicts an experience familiar to many Christians: that of a lost and broken soul discovering Jesus offers the truth and salvation they long for. To capture the element of dialog, I envisioned the Viola as the Penitent Thief and the Harp as Jesus. Each has a distinct theme/motif. On the cross, the Penitent Thief is consumed by shame, sorrow, and fear of death. His demeanor shifts between moments of quiet contemplation and visceral emotional outbursts. Facing imminent death, he yearns for redemption and truth. He looks at Jesus hanging next to him, blameless and holy. He feels admiration and praise and is overcome by penitence and humility. He calls out, half in desperation, half in worship: ā€œJesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdomā€¦ā€ Jesus, moved by his penitence and belief, responds with kindness and mercy, extending salvation: Today you will be with me in Paradise.ā€ The Penitent Thief imagines Paradise and hopes for this to hold true. His hope becomes briefly overshadowed by lingering doubt and fear. Silence falls. Then, as the hour of death arrives, the man reaches out again and clings to Jesus’ promise, this time with more desperation. His soul suddenly becomes filled with joy, finding the fulfillment of longing, bound with Christ, and knowing that he will soon be at rest in Paradise. At peace, the man gazes upward, gives his final sputtering breath, and his soul departs this world.

Choral Choir (SA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.873030 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary. Octavo. 12 pages. Sally Whitwell #3869009. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873030). Composer’s Note - Growing into meOn a particularly blustery Winter's day, I went to the National Arboretum in my home town of Canberra, Australia, with a bunch of very lovely kids from the Woden Valley Youth Choir (WVYC). Their director Alpha Gregory had asked me to come and do a composition workshop with the kids, to which I had replied with an enthusiastic YES!.I'd done this kind of thing with WVYC before, but this time around I wanted to take it somehow to the next level, to give the piece a real sense of place, a specific and experiential connection to the local community or landscape, and the Arboretum seemed a natural choice for me for an inspirational excursion. I had a family connection to it myself at the time, my cousin Emma worked there and was very passionate about it. Also, it is an outdoorsy kind of place and I have such fond memories of outdoorsy exploratory kinds of activities filling my entire childhood, a very typically Canberran thing. I'm sure the WVYC kids have a similar experience and I hope they know how lucky they are!So we put on our winter coats and scarves and hiked up the mountain, being sure to not only look at what was there, but also to listen, to touch, to smell. It was truly a multi sensory experience. Then we all went down to a local church hall and talked about what we saw and heard and smelt and the kids were just bursting with wonderful ideas for our new song. I've incorporated as many of their ideas as possible into the completed product, as well as my own over-arching theme; the oldest of the trees at the National Arboretum are only a couple of years older than some of the children in the group, so it seemed a nice parallel to make, their growing up alongside each other. It is my hope that the writing of this piece bonds these children to this important and magical place, so ripe with possibility, and that the connection is a lasting and meaningful one for them. It certainly will be for me.-- Sally Whitwell

It can be suited ideally in any setting.Program Noteā€œDreamsā€ is a suite for symphony orchestra in three movements. The work was kindly commissioned by Dr. Luis VĆquez, conductor of the University of Rhode Island’s Symphony Orchestra and to whom this work is being dedicated alongside with his wife Melissa. The titles of the movements come from either an specific dream, or other topics about dreaming that I discovered in the process of writing the work.Ā I. Cherry trees in the morningNature has always inspired me. Every year during spring my family has the tradition to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to experience the cherry blossoms. I usually do not remember many of my dreams but in this particular dream I was in Japan under an esplanade of cherry trees. I remember how amazed I feel and is for sure one of my most memorable dreams.Ā II. DreamcatcherWhile I was writing the initial ideas of for the work I came across a Journal that explored how the use of a particular chord helped reduce nightmares in patients suffering from nightmare disorders. In the study, patients were exposed to the chord C69 (A C Major with the added 6th and 9th) during therapeutic sessions. This chord is used at the beginning of the movement as it moves to explore different sonorities. In this movement you might be able to hear a representation of the ā€œheartbeatā€ played by the bass drum and timpani, then a more ā€œstressfulā€ section will come to represent a nightmare followed again by another repetition of the C69 chord. If you feel relaxed during the performance, it is on purpose!Ā III. A Dance in the desertDreams, in my case, are usually a mix of different non-related things. For the final movement, I decided to use that idea. I started this dance with a ā€œorientalā€ style and them throughout the middle of the movement I moved it to a waltz that was influenced by my grandfather. He used to have a small orchestra and he used to play waltzes during events and private parties.I hope the music takes you through a journey of musical emotions.Juan Guerra GonzĆ”lez

Drum Set,Electric Bass Guitar,Electric Guitar,Piano Accompaniment,Synthesizer - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105120 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Christian,Contemporary,Folk,Rock. Full Performance. Duration 215. David Kai #708367. Published by David Kai (A0.1105120). This fun song was written when heart transplants were fairly new and still in the news. The song depicts the healing ministry of Jesus brought into modern times. Since people like to put music into categories, the style could be roughly described as being country/bluegrass/synth-driven/gospel pop, which might make it pretty unique! The song was first recorded by the Christian rock group, Whitestone. The Great Healer words and music by David Kai Ā©1980 I’ve had a heart transplant with a bit of a difference, it may seem rather odd No scalpel, no surgeon, no anesthetic, just between me and God And now a new life beats inside of me, it’s more than mere words can describe My heart keeps time to the rhythm of the Spirit inside Well I went fishing for the truth to life, but I opened up a can of worms False religions and philosophies, misleading me at every turn Well I soon realized that knowledge is fine, but it’s really just a place to start ā€˜Cause you can change your mind but it’s God that has to change your heart Chorus: Yes, he’s the great healer, in a world of pain and strife He’s the great healer, and he can mend a broken life And though your hurts be too much to bear He can heal your wounds with his loving care And give you a new life that will never die So if you feel that you’ve lost all your reason to live Good and bad look the same And you’re walking around more dead than alive Life clotting up in your veins Just end your confusion, accept a transfusion of love from the heavenly Lord And to your surprise you’ll find that you have been restored Chorus:.

Pace #911120. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1322852). A beautiful, sacred, original Christmas hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Krista Mason Pace.Text:Silent Night, Holy Night, bright star above, For whom are you silent or holy in love? The babe in the manger surrounded by hay? Could He be The Wonder still sought in my day? The chorus of angels that pierce through your veil, You welcome them humbly, your silence a trail. Their presence and glory grants holiness now; No wonder those shepherds so reverently bow.Silence then there again widens the glow; A silence to wonder that many will know, And holier still is the stillness inside; When silencing hearts that too often have cried. So silent a whisper, so holy a call; The wisemen come seeking one blessed above all. Their gifts grant a blessing to help in the way; Can they even imagine the depth He would pay?The world's not silent or holy just now. It takes conscious effort to reverently bow. I welcome you Silent Night, Holy Night. Star; Come dwell deep inside me. I feel who you are. The chorus of angels that piece through your veil. You welcome them humbly, your silence a trail. Their presence and glory grants holiness now; No wonder those shepherds so reverently bow.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.994711 Composed by Darian Stavans. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 25 pages. Music Studio #4320903. Published by Music Studio (A0.994711). Los Poemas del Olvido belongs to my piano music album Imagenes de Amor/Images of Love by Darian Stavans.Images of Love is a musical reflection intending to describe that love has no images. Inside ourselves we build impressions, we merge together emotions, affections and the bonds of love to form the images life gives us as we walk along its mundane paths. From that first light we see at birth and all through our daily lives and emotional existence, we link together the daily events that guide us to protection and elicit the courage to face ourselves. That is precisely the instant in which we create our images of love, those impressions that will forever remain in our minds and souls giving us an identity. After all of this, after feeling and extracting all the best from these sensations, we return to the starting point, that point where once again love has no images. This album is part of that amazing world summarized in our souls, of that potential to constantly create new images of love according to what life deals us and the value we assign to such images before we again come to terms with the fact that the only common thread consists in cultivating the knowledge that love is a chain of acts and actions… like the images we carry inside.12 pages.Duration: 12:54Performing Rights Organization: CD Baby / SACM Mexicowebsite: www.darianstavans.comemail: darianstavans@gmail.comYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/darianstavans/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Darian.Stavans1

Downloadable, study score. Duration 35 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q2283. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q2283). English.Karl Amadeus Hartmann wrote his first symphony in 1935/36. At that time he was still an unknown musician whose works stood no chance of being performed and who could not hope to find encouragement in his native Germany. He had to wait more than ten years for its first performance, which finally took place in Frankfurt in the spring of 1948 under the direction of Winfried Zillig. I was 21 at the time, and the work left an extraordinarily deep impression on me, an impression that marked the beginning of my admiration for Hartmann's music and its very special kind of intellectuality, which struck me as both important and significant: by this I mean its spontaneous and unrefracted immediacy, its honesty and straightforwardness – qualities that extend beyond this composer's works and affect his whole surroundings, including his fellow human beings. All Hartmann's works, moreover, contain an essential element of the art of compostion, namely, an exact correspondence between the artist's insistent need to express himself and the instrumental resources that he chooses. A superficial listener might perhaps fail to notice at first that the huge orchestral apparatus that Hartmann conjures up exactly matches his powerful expressivity and the colourful nature of his rhetoric. There is also the expansiveness and physically charged vitality of the native of southern Germany, a man capable of combining his own sense of inwardness with the beauty of the moment and a feeling of hymnic grandeur. It is a combination that reflects his own south German countryside and that answers a need to communicate sustained by his own unwavering faith in humanity. - Hans Werner Henze, in: Hartmann: Kleine Schriften.
