Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818064 Composed by Anton R. Tajanlangit. Christian,Contemporary,Spiritual. Score. 7 pages. Antonality #4612847. Published by Antonality (A0.818064). No More Pain - in memory of Sr. Cecille Tajanlangit, OSC. The very last note says it all...In October 2016, my younger sister Marilou, who is also Sr. Cecille Tajanlangit, OSC, Mother Abbess of the St. Clare Monastery in Biliran, Leyte, Philippines, died of a chronic illness that had no known cure and that had caused her so much pain and suffering through so many years.A few months before, and going into the time that she died, she had been listening to all my works, 24/7, by her bedside. She told me over an overseas call that she was my number one fan and joked that she wanted to be the president of a fan club she was going to start up for me.But then not long afterward, she passed away-more than 13,000 kilometres away from me.I just composed this very sad piano piece to commemorate her life, which she had dedicated to Christ in His sufferings too. I'm sure she will hear this too from wherever she is. I did ask her, when she was still alive, to let God hear all my works when she gets to heaven. She said she would. Maybe that's where my fan club will be set up, among the angels! Those who were by her death bed recount that she twitched slightly on her last breath, and at the next instant a smile of deliverance showed up on her face! Please play the piece and try to decipher the hidden meanings behind each section. Towards the end of the piece, she falls into Jesus' lap and ... on the very last note, everything that she was hoping for came true. NO MORE PAIN!P.S. Musicians who hear this will recognize it as the Tierce de Picardie.

Guitar - Advanced - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4244 Composed by Konstantin Bliokh. Score. 13 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4244. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4244). Sonata No. 6 Kharkiv for guitar solo was composed in 2021, in the end of the COVID-19 lockdown. At that time my family and I were staying in our home city of Kharkiv (also known as Kharkov), Ukraine for almost two years. We considered that pandemic period as a disaster, but later have realized that it actually was a rather happy time, because a war came to our homeland just a few months later. Since 2022 a considerable fraction of the 1.5 millions of Kharkiv citizens have left their homes, those who stayed have been living under ceaseless missile attacks, and many have been killed. I would like to dedicate this Sonata to the frontier city of Kharkiv and, most of all, to its citizens suffering from the war.Yet, the music of the Sonata does not have any specific program. Here I will give a brief overview of its main composition elements to facilitate future interpretations. The first and fourth movements of this Sonata are based on the interplay between the twelve-tone principle and the G-major tonal center, natural for the guitar. Namely, the first movement is based on the interaction of the G-major triad G??B??D of the open guitar strings 2??3??4, ascending motif 1 involving the notes E??F#??A??C# (originally on the first string), and descending motif 2 using the notes E-??C??Bb??A- (originally, on the bass string 6). These elements supplement each other to almost make up twelve tones (apart from the missing F), and the motifs alternate with ostinato fragments where each note in the G major triad is step-by-step moved by a semitone up or down. The second movement is a Scherzo involving numerous semitones in accented chords and fast passages, as well as chromatic melodic motion in the bass voice. It is almost atonal in some fragments, but has an overall tonal center of A-minor.The third movement is a meditative Adagio based on a theme composed within hexatonic scale D??E??F??G#??A??B and ostinato chords involving open bass strings E??A??D and semitone B??C.Finally, the fourth movement is based on the complete twelve-tone theme consisting of two phrases including motifs 1 and 2 from the first movement: G??F??Bb??Ab??C??Eb??D and E??B??C#??A??F#. This theme is presented in its prime and retrograde forms. There are dialogues between the first string, basses and open middle strings, similar to the first movement. In the culmination, the twelve-tone theme is performed using the parallel motion of the standard guitar G-major chord with open middle strings across twelve positions. The Sonata was premiered and recorded (CD Naxos No. 8.574630) by the prominent Ukrainian guitarist Marko Topchii who has also lived and studied in Kharkiv. I am extremely grateful to him for the brilliant performance of this piece.I am greatly indebted to Productions d??Oz for keeping my original notations in places where these do not conform to the publisher??s style.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.746742 Composed by Charles W.A Ellerbrook, Daniel Adams Butterfield, Daniel Decatur Dan Emmett ( 1815 – 1904), and Valentine Vousden. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Contemporary,Multicultural,Patriotic,Traditional,World. 39 pages. Keith Terrett #2941995. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746742). De facto Anthems of the Confederate States of America  ''I Wish I Was in Dixie & Taps''- ''God Save the South No. 1''  - The Bonnie Blue Flag, ''God Save the South No. 2'', arranged for Brass Quintet & Percussion. The Confederate States of America (also referred to as The Confederacy or simply The South) had, like the United States at the time, several patriotic songs in use which could have been considered anthems, like Dixie, The Bonnie Blue Flag, and God Save the South, none of which were officially declared (possibly because declaring an official anthem wasn’t as important to a new nation then as it is now). God Save the South does have more of an anthemaic quality in the music and lyrics, and several publications of the song refer to it as a (or the) anthem, and was also the first song to be published in the Confederacy (which was subsequently published in at least nine editions).God Save the South was written by George H. Miles under the pseudonym Earnest Halphin, soon after the war started. Miles was a Marylander, a state that did not officially secede and join the confederacy, but, being a border state, had several citizens with sympathies for the south. An interesting thing to note about the song is the reference to George Washington (the first president of the United States) in the song’s fifth verse. Apparently, the author of the song meant to tie in Washington’s stance as a rebel against the British in the American revolution with the South’s rebellion against the northern United States in the civil war.The music was written by C. W. A. Ellerbock, but another tune by C. T. De Cœniél was also popular at the time as well. (Ellerbock’s version, however, seems to be the original.)For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores:http://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keith_terrethttp://musicforalloccasions.org.ukhttp://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrettNeed an anthem fast?  They are ALL in my store! All my anthem arrangements are also available for Orchestra, Recorders, Saxophones, Wind, Brass and Flexible band. Luis Anjos Teixeira #3492515. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889419). For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry Eternal Bridge was made to be performed by a group of six soloists playing the following instruments: Oboe, Harp, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass. It is not a difficult piece once learned. It is really a great fun for the players and very easy listening too, It covers a very wide range of audience demands. There is a groove feeling on it that makes it very pleasant to most all people. Because of its plasticity the piece allows many interpretations, therefore I did not made much use of interpretation symbols in order to leave to the performers the freedom of doing their own. Bowing and fingering are left totally virgin at the hands of the schools or the creativity of the performing Artists. P.S. - The score was written on Finale. The sound file For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry, was performed with samplers from Garritan and conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. This is the first time that this version is published in Sheet Music Plus. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music. Sheers! Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the cover design, all the Love and inspiration. Special Thanks to Nina and Stray Queen Mimi for my Family, all their Love Patience and Compassion. Love Forever.„The litle story of the - „Eternal BridgeEternal Bridge came out of a dream. Imagine a little railway station, a train that comes and stops, and your friends go inside. As you step on the little stairs to go inside, the doors close letting you out, and the train starts rolling. It speeds up very fast and enough so you can`t jump out of the little stairs back to the ground, you are holding now to the iron bars around the doors of the train, you see your friends and the people inside but they can`t see you, they can`t hear you, and you notice that the train is now on a bridge so high, that you can`t see the earth any more. Wind is blowing around me and I feel this cosmic cold and everything starts to twist around in a gigantic spiral. I still feel the Gravity but it goes in all directions at the same time pushing me violently and I feared to fail the grip on the iron bars and fall down, in an imaginary endless abyss. Little by little the speed of the events slows down progressively until everything freezes. Now, The other side of the bridge does not exist at all, neither the beginning or up or down. The train disappeared in a glimpse and I noticed that I was not falling down, just hanging there out in hyperspace, Free from Gravity. I lost the fear of falling in the abyss, it felt kind a good, because the only thing that I could see was light, pure beautiful bright white light, I was floating in light, I realised I could stay there forever, but then I felt lonely and wanted to come back home. When I finally woke up, I wrote this words in Portuguese and made a song out of it. the words go like:Ponte eterna abismo sem fundo - Vento ciclónico medo profundo - Comboio gelado lentidão d`aço - Espiral eterna suspensa no espaço - Maos agarram a vida duas barras d` aço - Corpo sacudido em espasmos de medo - Alucinação divina acordar de um sonho Eternal Bridge endless Abyss - Cyclonic wind deep Fear - Frozen Train slowness of steel - Eternal spiral suspended in space - Hands cling to life on two bars of steel - Body shaken into spasms of fear - Divine hallucination waking up from a dream

White Piano International Publishing #692692. Published by White Piano International Publishing (A0.1090868). UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN (A Song Of Gratitude) by Robert Van Horne Piano / Vocal 5 pages Approx. Time: 2:20 It was December 2006 when I performed the First Friday Concert at the Atrium Retirement Community (now Brookdale San Jose). At the end of the program, the entertainment director presented me with a Christmas gift bag. Inside were Christmas cards from many of the residents expressing to me their holiday best wishes and how much they appreciated and enjoyed my once a month concerts. I was deeply touched by all who wrote words of kindness, thoughtfulness and gratitude. After the performance, I left feeling inspired to write a special song for all of them. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN is that special song. I printed copies of the music and words which I presented to the Atrium residents. At the next First Friday, January 2007 concert, I performed it for the first time. This special song is: “Dedicated to all the wonderful people who live at the Atrium Retirement Community, December 2006.” The sheet music is clearly notated with meaningful lyrics, chords, piano accompaniment and vocal part. It makes a wonderful song for concluding concerts that audiences will love and appreciate. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1255098 Composed by Ross Fiddes. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score. 25 pages. Ross Fiddes #848692. Published by Ross Fiddes (A0.1255098). It was in the aftermath of the 2020 summer bushfires in Australia that soprano Ayse Goknur Shanala rang me from Cyprus to suggest I compose a work about climate change, a subject of concern for me.  My research for lyrics did not elicit anything I considered suitable, so I turned to Derek Dowding, a local poet, singer, actor, raconteur, and a person vitally interested in the future of humanity and of the planet.Derek and I had worked together before – he brilliantly performed the role of Abelard in the workshopping and concert performances of my hybrid opera “Abelard and Heloise”, which, in 1997, won the supreme CONDA (City of Newcastle Drama Award)  for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Newcastle Theatre’ against some 200 other stage productions in Newcastle’s bi-centenary year.Derek worked long and late on the lyrics for the work, producing an emotional document covering history, cause and effect.  His words produced musical responses from me which I consider react appropriately to both his words and the subject matter. I hope our listeners will agree. For the musical treatment I had to consider that the length of the work, through-sung, 20+ minutes, required a recurrent grounding to avoid too many thematic ideas getting in the way of the words.  To that end, I created a quasi-reflective section which appears, rondo-style, quite a few times during the length of the piece.  And, for further cohesion, I built an ABA (ternary) section early to address certain word structures.  Mostly, the various sections followed the stanza structure provided by Derek, with some combinations.  My musical style is essentially melodic, but with dramatic and other episodes, be they tonal, astringent, harmonically indecisive and so on.  In building the work I was principally influenced by the impact and flow of the words. The work is quite mammoth for both the singer and the pianist.  I was absolutely delighted that Anna Fraser again premiered a work of mine – in 2015 she marvellously premiered another major composition of mine, reviewed here:  http://soundslikesydney.com.au/reviews/concert-review-the-man-in-the-other-roomacacia-quartetanna-fraser/19830.htmlWe can only hope that the new work ultimately adds to the chorus of warnings and concern about the climactic future that awaits if we continue to ignore or postpone dramatic and urgent attention to addressing the causes of climate change.A living orb cloaked white and blue and greenRevolving and evolving, tight-hugged in orbit flightWe ride her back; dependent, fragile offspring.Suckling all the while …but have we bonded?A world unlike any other world we’ve seenGifted with Water, Air, Earth and perfect Light. The essentials of life. Freely, these gifts she brings.Free for all but how have we responded?                                                                     Poem© 2020 Derek DowdingRoss FiddesJanuary 2023.

Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1116380). CAROL OF THE DRUM - 6 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLE For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes Carol Of The Drum is the official title, but many people know this as “The Little Drummer Boy”.This charming piece was written comparatively recently and has enjoyed being covered, re-arranged, beefed up and slimmed down by dozens of famous performers from Bing Crosby to Justin Bieber and many more besides. My arrangement suits a sextet or a large ensemble, and the complexity of the parts range from almost complete beginner up to early intermediate. I’ve suggested that this piece grows in volume throughout the 3 verses that I’ve arranged, and to support this, the number of notes each part has gradually increases, so that the notes have less time to die away before they are replaced. So part of the build in volume happens automagically! There are no page turns. The soundfile alongside the score is from the 3rd verse where you can hear that the sound is becoming busy and powerful. Guitar 6 requires the bottom string tuned down to D. I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

Striadica: A Symphonic PassageThe every-day, reshaped by contingencies. The time-bound path twists through certainty, bewilderment, and fragile reconstruction. Upon release, recognition arrives.Duration: 8 - 9 mins.I was specifically asked to write a work where everyone had something to play. As is my usual style, I tend to allow the second players and less-prominent instruments a chance to shine, and in general shake up the usual orchestral hierarchy. (The second violins, for example, even get their own solo passage!)The wind parts are much more individualized, where the first part may have a completely different line than the second.A colleague who is a trombone player challenged me to write parts that sing for his instrument; hence the word dolce occurs in the low brass parts. Although the low brass parts are rather simple, they do require finesse and nuance. In general, none of the parts are overly challenging; rather, I hope each player finds the music allows them the opportunity to express themselves both individually and as an ensemble.Instrumentation1 Piccolo2 Flutes2 Oboes2 Clarinets in A2 Bassoons4 Horns in F2 Trumpets in C3 Trombones (2 Tenor, 1 Bass Trombone)1 TubaTimpani (B / D)Percussion: Wood Blocks, Snare Drum1 HarpStrings------Commissioned by the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra, IL. Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158382 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical. 49 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758665. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158382). Brass quintet in six short movements. Duration, approx. 8 minutes. Movement I: “Family Vacations.” Fond memories of childhood vacations as well as leading out on road trips as a father, are reflected by the excitement of this movement. Feel free to reminisce on your own family trips as you listen to or perform this movement. Movement II: “Jovial Banter.” I was going to call this movement “Roughhousing,” but that is only part of what this playful piece conjures. Besides wrestling my five boys (with my one girl amusedly watching off to the side), friendly joking with friends about rival universities, and playing harmless pranks on friends and family, all seem to be rolled up into this truly jovial movement. It has its own tricks and surprises to one who has never heard it before. Movement III: “Holiday Foods.” This waltz displays more elegance and structure than most of the other movements. It primarily elicits memories of the distinctive Thrower Christmas feasts, for which we created a unique tradition. Our yuletide banquets hail from a different country every year. Through the decades, we have discovered and adopted many international favorites that we continue to enjoy! Note the middle section of the waltz gets a bit spicy… Movement IV: “Pets.” Though as an adult I have not had the pleasure of enjoying personal pets, my youngest son developed an affinity for YouTube videos about funny cats and dogs. Nevertheless, my favorite childhood pet was “Blackie,” the splendid satin feline featured on the cover of this work. Pets are often quirky and extremely fun, as is this music. If it doesn’t put a smile on the listener’s face, someone in the line of musical communication may have failed. Movement V: “Sharing God’s Wonders.” Slow and wondrous, the music in this movement yearns to be shared. The theme, though only somewhat related to the other variations, strays to its own content after the first motivic notes. The melody is borrowed from a 2010 band composition of mine titled “Tribute to Joel Robison,” an ancestor, and a Texas hero. One passion I have enjoyed through the years is family history, truly a God-given legacy from which I draw much inspiration. Movement VI: “Personal Triumphs.” Indeed a subject to celebrate, triumphs of self-mastery, conquests over difficult tasks, and achievements of monumental goals all prompt me to break out in triumphant fanfares!

Thomas Oboe Lee #15879. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869356). Instrumentation: 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 English horn, 2 bassoons, 2 French horns, timpani and strings.Program note: In the year 2010, my wife Kristin Beckwith and I went to Paris twice, the first time in May and the second time in December right after Christmas. The weather was magnificent in May. Our friends Seph and Roger met us there. Being long-time veterans of Paris, they took us all over the city: Le Marais, the Left Bank, Montmartre, Sacré Coeur, Père LaChaise cemetery, Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Jardin du Luxembourg, Jardin des Tuileries, Notre Dame cathedral, Eiffel Tower, the flea market at Porte de Clignancourt, the canal at Saint Martin, etc. Since the weather was so great we basically stayed outside the entire two weeks. My wife Kris said that we had to return next again to Paris to go inside the museums. So we did. The weather in Paris after Christmas was very damp and chilly. So we did indoor activities: Le Louvre, Musée D’Orsay, Palais Garnier, etc. We even attended a beautiful performance of Swan Lake by the Paris Opera Ballet at L’Opéra Bastille. I should also mention that on both occasions I met up with a former student of mine from Berklee, Joe Makholm. He makes a living in Paris playing jazz piano. Joe got us a gig at the Swan Bar in Montparnasse. On the first occasion we did it as a trio with a French bass player. I played flute. On the second occasion, we did it as a duo. Playing jazz in Paris? You can’t beat that!!! Early this year, Steven Lipsitt and I had a chat about my writing a new work for the Boston Classical Orchestra. My last work for the BCO was a piano concerto with Robert Levin as soloist. I told Steven that this time I wanted to write a symphony. He said, Sure. Go ahead. I told him it would be about Paris. He said he would put Mozart’s Paris Symphony on the same program. I said, Fabulous! Symphony No. 8 … City of Light (2011) is in five movements. 1. La Seine Presto, Moderato 2. Basilique du Sacré-Coeur Largo 3. Palais Garnier Allegro, Trio 4. Avenue des Champs-Élysées Allegro 5. Musée du Louvre Largo, Moderato This work is dedicated to my wife and muse, Kristin Beckwith. Composer’s Note - The BirdsI lived for a couple of years in a little top floor Art Deco apartment in Sydney’s Kings Cross. There were always birds sitting on my window sill because of the huge Jacaranda tree outside. I was at a bit of a crossroads in my life at that time, and would spend at least an hour daily walking in the neighbourhood, along those twisting, sloping streets and slowly eroding sandstone staircases so typical of Sydney’s harbourside suburbs. On the wall by such a staircase very close to my home was a tiny red spray painted bird with little music notes emanating from his beak. His was a constant presence in my life, I really rather liked him.Birds seemed to be making appearances everywhere in my life at that time, which I took as some kind of message from the universe. I was reading quite a lot of Christina Rossetti that year too, enjoying her writings about birds and all that they symbolised for her; beauty and sadness, hope and joy. There was a quiet optimism in her words, sometimes veiled but always present, which propelled me to write this song cycle T he Birds.-- Sally Whitwell

Published by NJR Music (A0.754097). This piece is for B Flat Clarinet, Horn in F and Piano. The work was selected by Access Contemporary Music to be performed in a Chicago reading session by members of the contemporary music ensemble Anaphora and broadcast over the internet in February 2012. This atonal work utilizing tone rows has a total duration of 9 minute.  The title makes reference to both the dodecaphonic movement in music from the early 20th Century and my immigrant family's immigration to the United States during the very early part of the 20th Century. This serial piece was composed using 10 tone rows. Each instrument was assigned a separate tone row. Rows 1 - 3 comprise first section. Rows 4 - 6 comprise the second section beginning at measure 20. Rows 7 - 9 comprise the third section beginning at measure 41 and Rows 3, 6 & 10 comprise the final section beginning at measure 100. The algorithm used proper names with letters outside the 7 letter musical alphabet being converted using the numbers 1 - 7 in a recurring fashion. Musical letters were first considered natural with duplications in any particular tone row first lowered then raised. Any additional duplication was returned to the natural form. Octaves are considered the same as unison. There were no enharmonic accommodations made to the tone rows. ASCAP.
