Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.1068480 Composed by 1776, 1830, Music – Thomas Hastingsm, and Words – Augustus M. Toplady. Arranged by Pat Holmberg. Christian,Contemporary,Gospel. Full Performance. Duration 122. Patricia Tanttila Holmberg #1966901. Published by Patricia Tanttila Holmberg (A0.1068480). This is an old well-known Christian hymn played on the piano. It has an updated rhythmic feel to give it a bit of life. Here are the lyrics, if you want to sing along with it: Rock of Ages cleft for me; Let me hide myself in Thee. Let the water and the blood from thy wounded side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure; Save from wrath and make me pure. Could my tears forever flow, Could my zeal no respite know, This for sin could not atone – Thou must save, and Thou along; In my hand no price I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling. When I draw my final breath, When my eyes shall close in death. When I rise to worlds unknown And be hold Thee on Thy throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1108150 By Jon Thingvall. By Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Jon Thingvall. 19th Century,Christmas,Classical,March. Score. 16 pages. Jon Thingvall #710774. Published by Jon Thingvall (A0.1108150). Looking for a version of this classic that has those thrilling string runs toward the end, and the woodwind countermelodies? This may be it! Don't be intimidated by the fact that this arrangement is played at holiday receptions in the White House, or that it received the approval of acclaimed pianist, John Bayless. I wrote it for myself, and I'm not more than an Intermediate-level pianist. I arranged it out of frustration at not being able to find a version that had those thrilling, ascending string runs toward the end. It may sound difficult, but that simply shows how Maestro Tchaikovsky was able to create an interwoven, arabesque-like frieze out of just a few notes. If you can play the Schirmer edition Suite, or even just some of it, you'll have no trouble with this one. Maestro Mikhail Pletnev's arrangement has the string runs in it, but the way he wrote them is so virtuosic that, brilliant as it is, there is no way I could play it. So, I had to write one out for myself. I'm pretty pleased with it, and think you will be too. The PDF is in two sections; one with written suggestions that may be helpful, and the other without them.

Small Ensemble Bouzouki,Guitar,Harpsichord,Mandolin,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017678 Composed by Anonymous. Arranged by Gordon Jackson. Baroque,Celtic,Classical,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 4 pages. Gordon Jackson #6436745. Published by Gordon Jackson (A0.1017678). Staines MorrisThe song, Staines Morris, is very well known by singers of traditional songs. It’s a 17th century song. It’s a 19th century song. Actually, it’s both! The lyrics were certainly published, and probably written, by Robert Cox for his play Actaeon and Diana, published in 1656. The tune was first published in John Playford’s The English Dancing Master in 1651. There is no evidence that, in the 17th century, the lyrics were sung to this melody. That didn’t happen for two hundred years, when William Chappell put the two together for his Popular Music of the Olden Time, vol. 1 (1859). I have added chords to the melody. Whilst humming the tune to myself, I found myself moving into 6/8 time, and that inspired me to compose a galliard based on it, complete with ‘divisions’ (runs of semiquavers or 32nd notes) and counterpoint. The song melody and the galliard can be played separately or as parts of one piece, perhaps with the galliard played between two of the verses. I put the galliard in A minor, to provide a contrast with the D minor song melody, but play them in whatever key takes your fancy. I have also added below the lyrics, as most often sung today.Come ye young men, come alongWith your music, dance and songBring your lasses in your handsFor ’tis that which love commands  Then to the Maypole haste away  For ’tis now our holidayIt is the choice time of the yearFor the violets now appearNow the rose receives its birthAnd the pretty primrose decks the earthAnd when you well reckoned haveWhat kisses you your sweetheart gaveTake them all again, and moreIt will never make them poorWhen you thus have spent your timeAnd the day be past its primeTo your beds repair at nightAnd dream there of your day’s delight

The pdf file contains score and parts. This is one of several arrangements based on my lullaby song The quiet way you move me.Lyrics of the original song:Sometimes when you fall asleep, it seems you take me with you deep into a peaceful land far from all the heartache; that you'll understand one day, you will understand one day the quiet way quiet way you move me quiet way quiet way you move me. Sometimes when you fall asleep it seems you take me with you, deep into a peaceful land far from all the heart ache. I find myself complete; I find myself repeating a prayer and smiling at the sky: the quiet way you move me even when you cry. Now within your drowsy eyes I can see why the world has lost all its wonders. A new dream is rising, impatient to begin. A new dream is rising impatient to begin. And when the dream is through, your hungry feelings will find me. My comfort is you. My comfort is you. The quiet way quiet way you move me quiet way quiet way you move me

Oboe Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018925 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 4 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6072955. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018925). Fugue: Wear Pearls and Smile is, on the outset, a fast, rambunctious adventure for many voices playing at the same time. It was conceived as a pairing for the equally vivacious second symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven–his 250th birthday is this year–but can stand on its own as one of my hardest, most challenging works to cook up.This piece is dedicated to those forced to appear positive when internally they’re falling apart. The title is inspired by a quote that’s been with me for a while, Why is it that men can be bastards and women must wear pearls and smile? by Lynn Hecht Schafren, the celebrated American jurist famous for campaigning for gender equity in courts. I’m taking the quote out of its initial context, but the power of that quote, for me, exemplifies how hard it is to maintain a sense of emotional decorum and dignity when you’re authentically a hot mess. And what’s more of a musical hot mess than a fugue? There are two realities to this piece. I’ll quote Dmitri Shostakovich, from his autobiography: The rejoicing is forced, created under threat, […] It’s as if someone were beating you with a stick and saying, ‘Your business is rejoicing, your business is rejoicing,’ and you rise, shaky, and go marching off, muttering ‘Our business is rejoicing, our business is rejoicing.’ On the one hand, it is insincere happiness, cloying perhaps. But the other truth, I’ll quote Oscar Hammerstein II, from The King and I: While shivering in my shoes / I strike a careless pose / And whistle a happy tune / And no one ever knows, / I'm afraid. I forced myself, against all impulses of my current being, to forge happiness. This piece, with its origin being a mental puzzle (fugues are puzzles), it became a construct where I could lift myself up and regain a sense of purpose. Therefore, it is invented–out of a literal need to survive–pure, genuine happiness.Future Performances: If you are interested in performing this work, please e-mail me.ABOUT THE COMPOSER: Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1153691 By Scott Custer Jr. By Scott Custer Jr. Contemporary. Score and parts. 101 pages. Scott Custer Jr #753948. Published by Scott Custer Jr (A0.1153691). My first complete concert band piece. It's been in the works for about 3 months. The early drafts of this piece were written in April/May and were then left to collect dust for months. I wrote it to experiment with melodic/harmonic minor scales and did not intend to finish the piece. Around the same time I wrote the early drafts of the piece, my high school band director asked if I wanted to write a piece for the concert band. I agreed and spent months working on different pieces of music, completing none of them. Around late October I stumbled across this looking through old pieces of music for some new ideas. I listened through it 3 or 4 times and decided to continue the piece. After spending roughly two months finishing the draft, and another month revising and adding parts, I had finally finished Trapped. When I started working on this piece with the intention of finishing it, I was at a difficult point in my life. I had recently come home from my rookie season of drum corps and was still transitioning back to the real world. The freedom of tour had been taken away from me, I had mentally matured a lot during the summer. While only 17 I felt like I was stuck with a bunch of kids. I had spent all summer with friends much older than me, learning a lot from them and taking inspiration from them in many ways. When I started this piece, I was conflicted with many thoughts and emotions. I was still under the impression that my peers in the music program hated me because of some of my actions last year. The girl from home I had been talking with all summer while I was gone, and hoped to start a relationship with, lied to me while I was gone about many things, causing me to remove them from my life. The last year and a half have involved many events like losing my best friend of 5 years because of, what I consider, an overreaction on my part; being used for my kindness; lied to; having secrets about me revealed behind my back by those I trusted; being a therapy friend; constant overthinking; as well as toxic friendships I didn’t want to leave because I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I felt trapped. I had spent so long trying to improve myself to become who I am today, and I still felt like crap. Even though I knew and promised myself I wouldn’t follow through, I was battling suicidal thoughts and I was in a severely depressive episode of my life. I wrote this piece to express the feeling of overthinking, being trapped in your mind, and the road to recovery. The constant back-and-forth battles with yourself, unsure of where to go and what to do next; feeling trapped. I hope that this piece connects and resonates with those of you in a similar position to what I was in, and I promise there is a way out and that life does get better. And with that, I present to you, Trapped.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1167223 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Classical,Contemporary. Octavo. 13 pages. Sally Whitwell #767600. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1167223). As a composer, I feel I always need to be working on somethinng. Even if it's not for a commission, I like to work on my skills, on my composing craft, on keepng the creative ideas flowing. So occasionally, I set myself assignments of a sort, which is how this song cycle Spectrum came to be. I set myself the task of interpreting the colours of the rainbow pride flag. Because I am so gay. The cycle is not actually LGBTQIA+ themed in its subject matter as such, the flag was just a kind of framework for my creativity. In thje intervening years since the cycle was first conceived, the LGBTQIA+ community has embraced a new flag, the Progress Pride FLag, which will give me a few more colours to interpret and add to the original cycle.Thie song Yellow Rain is a setting of a joyous poem by Monique Duval about getting caught in a sun shower on the beach.

Cello Duet Cello - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012643 Composed by Timothy Arliss OBrien. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. Timothy Arliss OBrien #5991021. Published by Timothy Arliss OBrien (A0.1012643). This aggressive cello duet was composed after many bouts of rage with myself. These bursts of anger haunted me for years and only after composing this piece was I freed of my anger. I still listen to this piece from time to time during bouts of rage to remind myself that the only way to win a fight is make concessions and come to an agreement with yourself. I hope these melodies will relieve your aggression and leave you humming this tune anytime you are frustrated. This beautifully fitful piece was performed and recorded by the cellist Raúl Andueza in June of 2020.

B-Flat Clarinet,Bassoon,Instrumental Duet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1313712 Composed by Geraldine Green. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. 47 pages. Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic #902438. Published by Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic (A0.1313712). ALL PURCHASES COME WITH SCORE AND PARTSThe Sonatina For Clarinet And Bassoon was written between March and June 2018 and is dedicated to my good bassoonist friend Jane Thompson and her family. It was her husband, Astley Jones, who asked me to write the piece as a way of showing her how much we all loved her! I thought that was the sweetest thing and the rest is history! We hoped to give this piece its world premiere at some point in 2018 or 2019, with Jane herself playing the bassoon and myself on clarinet. However, the first major hurdle was Jane having an operation on each hand to cure her Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and the second big hurdle was Covid-19! Due to life’s normal pressures, the work still awaits its long awaited for premiere. It has three movements, fast, slow, fast, and a total duration of approximately 15 minutes. The clarinet part is for Bflat clarinet.I have also transcribed the bassoon part for bass clarinet so the piece can be played by either combination. It could even be played by two bass clarinets, which would be hilarious!I feel, as a player myself, that its main challenge is in sheer breathing and playing stamina as it certainly gets you working up a sweat by the end, but its comical, quirky character will hopefully make it great fun for players and audience alike.

Organ - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q45410 Für Orgel. Composed by Christian Jost. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 15 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q45410. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q45410). There is no other work more closely associated with the organ than Johann Sebastian Bach’s Toccata in D minor. During my compositional preparation, I repeatedly found myself returning to this work. I had a number of different formal models in mind, but felt myself gravitating towards the rhapsodic character of toccata form so that my new composition for organ ultimately became a toccata developing from a pedal point on the fundamental note ’D’. As is appropriate to the volume of a large modern organ, my concept focuses on symphonic tonal layers whose suggestive maelstrom originates from the inner strength of repeating elements and their register- like augmentation, culminating in the unleashing of polyrhythmic progressions.
