Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1255512 Composed by Matthew Nunes. Classical,Thriller. Brass Band. 120 pages. Matthew Nunes Music #849018. Published by Matthew Nunes Music (A0.1255512). Listen to this piece hereJessica Mitford’s incisive 1963 essay Behind the Formaldehyde Curtain is the inspiration for this piece. Mitford dissects the embalming industry while baring the ironies and inhumanities of its processes. First included in her book The American Way of Death, we follow “Mr. Jones†from death to burial and experience all the tools, techniques, and abuses in-between. It was required reading for me as a high school junior and a text that grows more haunting with each added birthday candle. The piece follows “Mr. Jones†on his journey with narrated extracts from Mitford’s essay. The opening chords are constructed from the pitches D-flat, E-flat, A-flat, and another D-flat, following Igor Stravinsky’s final chord in The Rite of Spring (D-E-A-D). From here the material alternates between chromatically descending, as the corpse nears its final resting place, and ascending, while the embalmers fight to champion death.- Matthew NunesNiceville, July 2020.

Flute,Horn,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1381380 Composed by Jason V. Barabba. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Historic. 36 pages. Barabba Music #966091. Published by Barabba Music (A0.1381380). For Flute, Horn and NarratorTexts taken from Forsyth’s Orchestration. Commissioned by Peggy Moran with Kent Leslie, Bernhard Scully and Angela Winter Duration Approximately 11 minutesDecisions about the narration should be made with the acoustics of the hall and the voice of the narrator in mind. If no amplification is needed, that’s great. All the narrator’s parts are in the bold, boxed texts with quote marks. When a specific beat is not indicated, the text can be ready calmly and at a comfortable speed without concern for meter or pulse. The narrator should read the text with a sense of importance, but also sound relaxed…like an academic lecture. Even in places where the text is indicated for a specific beat within a measure, they should sound natural and not performative..pdf download include a full set of performance parts. Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1399884 By Holly Henderson. By Holly Henderson, Ron Patton, JD Mercer. Country,Film/TV,Folk,Pop,Rock. Score. 10 pages. Twintastic Music #983109. Published by Twintastic Music (A0.1399884). Empty Handed chronicles a narrator caught in the disillusionment of realizing her intense romantic yearnings for someone are completely unreciprocated and have existed only in her own mind.Through the verses, it's revealed that the narrator had misinterpreted the love interest's words and actions as signs of mutual affection, when in reality those perceived intimations were merely projections of the narrator's own desires. The chorus serves as a plaintive plea for the love interest to join the narrator on life's journey so they are not left alone and stranded in a metaphoric paradise without their love.
