Piano - Digital Download SKU: B8.EB-8935 Urtext. Composed by Eduard Franck. These Six Piano Sonatas op. 40 comprise the first great sonata cycle by Eduard Franck. Composed in a longer period before 1882, the sonatas immediately found a great, in part brilliant reception after publication. Score. 152 pages. Breitkopf and Haertel - Digital #EB-8935. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel - Digital (B8.EB-8935). ISBN 9790004186022. 9 x 12 in inches. So, for instance, the Neue Zeitschrift fur Musik opined on 11 May 1883: Since Beethoven probably few top-ranking composers have brought into being such creations as Eduard Franck. […] Several of them deserved to be performed symphonically, because prevalent in them are dramatic elements […]. Eduard Franck's piano sonatas are perceived in our time as a modest continuation of the classical and romantic piano sonata in line with a recognized and proven model. With op. 40 now appearing, Breitkopf & Hartel begins its edition of Eduard Franck's piano works, thus completing the picture of the romantic piano sonata in the second half of the 19th century.

Piano,Soprano Saxophone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.837485 Composed by Brett L. Wery. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Jazz. Score and part. 53 pages. Sonata Grendel Publishing #4346989. Published by Sonata Grendel Publishing (A0.837485). Samuel Detweiler is a superb musician and accomplished saxophonist, equally at home in both jazz and classical idioms. Naturally, I was thrilled when Sam told me of his plans to commission a work that incorporated improvisation in what would otherwise be a neo-classical sonata form. The result is a piece that is technically demanding for most classical saxophonists but also requires a reasonable amount of proficiency in improvisation. Much of classical music is driven by development (the restatement, fragmentation, exploitation, evolution, and eventual transformation of musical ideas). In this sonata much of the development is left to the performer. The first movement is in sonata allegro form with the development being largely improvised. The second movement leaves one entire statement of the form open for improvisation much like any jazz standard. The third movement is a sonata rondo, again, leaving the development section open for improvisation. This 17 minute piece is ideal for college and professional players. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 21 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3395439. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534369). I. InventionII. AriosoIII. GigueThe Sonatine for Two Like Saxophones is dedicated to the memory of Germaine Tailleferreand is especially influenced by her Sonata for Solo Clarinet, a work in which she exploredatonal language. It may be played on any two saxophones of the same type (ie two sopranosaxophones in Bb, two baritone saxophones in Eb etc). The work is in three movements. The first, « Invention », uses a strict contrapunctaltreatment of a theme in fourths. The Second, « Arioso », is a slow lyric dance in ¾. TheThird movement, « Gigue », is based on a « hunting horn » motif which also exploits the useof 6/8 superimposed on ¾.

Clarinet,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.918832 Composed by Celeste Leitch Gates. 20th Century,Chamber,Contemporary,Jazz. Score and part. 47 pages. Celeste Leitch Gates #3425701. Published by Celeste Leitch Gates (A0.918832). This Sonata has equal parts between the clarinet and the piano. It is equally difficult and would be a good recital piece for music majors. It's final movement is full of vivaciousness and makes a great finale. It has been performed many times and each time the audience has received it extremely well. It is filled with mixed meters and hemiolas, the rhythm gives this piece it's cohesiveness from beginning to end. The mp3 is of the composer performing it and unfortunately the person recording it did not get the audience applause at the end which was an immediate enthusiastic standing ovation. An mp3 is available by searching for each movement.  Mvt. 1 is called Sassy, Mvt 2 Reflection, Mvt. 3 Playful all from Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Celeste Leitch Gates. The clarinet sheet music is sold separately.

Taylor #2852185. Published by James K. Taylor (A0.872472). This advanced version of the NATIONAL ANTHEM has many familiar harmonies and walking bass lines, but I have added a few new musical items I think you will enjoy. For one thing, I put a big emphasis on FLAG WAS SITLL THERE!. You are welcome to use your own percussion parts as the ones I have written (with the exception of the mallets) are pretty much traditional. Instrumentation: picc, flute, oboe, bassoon, clar. 1,2,3, bass clar, alto 1,2, tenor, bari, tpt 1,2,3, horn 1,2,3, trombone 1,2,3, baritone (both TC and BC parts), tuba, mallets, perc (snare, bass drum and crash cym)The MP3 recording was created with the FINALE sounds. Naturally, it does not reproduce MARCATO style unless I input input all quarters as dotted 8ths. Actually, I start the piece CANTABILE and switch to MARCATO at and the rocket's red glare. I never could get the percussion sounds I wanted so I entered the snare roll as individual notes. Thanks.

AllegroII. AdagioIII. AllegroJ.S. Bach's Trio Sonatas BWV 525-530 are some of the most popular and beloved works of the Baroque period. Composed in 1717, these six trio sonatas for the organ are among Bach's earliest works for the instrument. They are all in the traditional three-movement form and are composed in the style of the Italian concerto grosso, with two upper voices (treble and alto) and a basso continuo. The two upper voices often intertwine in intricate contrapuntal melodies, while the basso continuo provides harmonic support. The works are also full of virtuosic passages that demonstrate Bach's mastery of the organ. The Trio Sonatas are considered to be among the most important and influential works of the Baroque era, and they continue to be widely performed and studied today. The Bach Trio Sonatas have been successfully transcribed for a variety of ensembles, including wind, string, and brass ensembles. The parts are easily divided among a variety of wind instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and saxophone. In these transcriptions, the original material is retained, but often with some additional orchestration or embellishment. These transcriptions often emphasize the polyphonic texture of the original works, creating a rich soundscape.  The Sonatas have also been successfully adapted for a variety of string ensembles. In these versions, the original two-part texture with the basso is maintained, creating a full and satisfying sound that allows for a more nuanced interpretation of the works. In addition, these transcriptions often add a variety of dynamic markings and articulations that were not present in the original editions. These transcriptions provide performers with a variety of options for interpreting and performing these beloved works.
