Large Ensemble Bass Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.955720

Composed by Hector Berlioz. Arranged by Phil Thrift. Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 56 pages. Phil Thrift #5322013. Published by Phil Thrift (A0.955720).

This, the trombone octet adaptation of my trombone quartet arrangement of Hector Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique, again features all the well-known themes of the full orchestral symphony. The beginning is identical with the original, but then proceeds immediately to the March to the Scaffold of the fourth movement. The famous idée fixe of the symphony is first heard at measure 72, and this is followed by other themes from the first movement. The adagio at measure 164 re-creates the pastoral duet of the symphony’s third movement. As indicated on the charts, the first trombone (alto) should play this section offstage (as for the oboist in the original), while the others remain on stage. If this is not possible, then the first trombone should play this section muted. This very reflective interlude is followed by my personal favorite, the wondrously jolly waltz from the symphony’s second movement. The Witches’ Round Dance, a sort of fugue, comes next, and leads to the dies irae – played in four octaves here, but in this octet version heard together with the Witches’ Round Dance. The idée fixe is stated once again before the arrangement concludes in the same way as the original symphony.
This is a light-hearted arrangement that is not intended to re-create exactly the grandeur of the original with its huge orchestral forces. Lasting nearly 9 min, depending on how fast you take some sections, this piece will require some stamina, but with many sections arranged for two, three or four trombones, every player does get a break. The first part requires a very capable alto trombonist with a good high register.
Player 1 plays alto throughout, player 2 switches between alto and tenor, and parts 7 and 8 are for bass trombone.
Sensible page turns were impossible to incorporate in some of the parts while at the same time not exceeding four pages. So in those parts the players are instructed – during longer breaks – to fetch the next page in good time, which is easily possible if the parts are printed out on separate sheets. Players using tablets won’t have any problems, of course.

All the things you are by Oscar Hammerstein Ii and Jerome Kern. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. this score is in F#, but, the audio is in Ab. How to read accidents in sheet music Lesson 9 Signs of change. This class is about sharp #, flat b and bequadro (I can't do this sign by keyboard. That's why it's important to watch this class that will be on the card in the upper right corner). There are still the signs of double sharp x or ## and double flat bb. Don't be folded bequadro. I ask permission to use pleonasm Sharp # function: raises the pitch of the note by a semitone up. Makes the note a semitone higher. B-flat function: lower the pitch of the note by a semitone down. Makes the note a semitone lower. Double sharp x or ## function: raise the pitch of the note by one step. Makes the note a higher pitch. Double-flat bb function: lower the pitch of the note by one tone. Makes the pitch of the note a lower pitch. Bequadro function (I can't make this signal by keyboard. That's why it's important to watch this class that will be on the cards in the upper right corner). Nullify both the sharp (whether it's doubled or not) and the flat function (whether it's doubled or not). The bequadro still cancels the accidents of the key signature. Lesson 10 Bars and bar numbers It is a vertical line placed on the pentagram. It serves to organize the writing of the score in a Cartesian way. When the amount of beats exceeds the measure, it is necessary to place the vertical line and continue in another measure. This is one of the reasons to know the bar count. Another reason is when a large group is going to rehearse a song and it is often necessary to stop the rehearsal in order to make necessary adjustments. In this case, to optimize the rehearsal, the music is not restarted from measure 1, but from a few measures before the adjustments made, whether by the group, conductors, etc. The barline cancels out the accidentals that occur. For example, if an F# note appears in the middle of a piece of music, when that F moves to the next measure, it will no longer be sharp. The barline also cancels the bequadro in this situation, that is, if by chance the music is not set to a key other than C major or A minor, when the bequadro appears precisely on the keynote note, in the next bar if it is not spelled again, the key signature accident takes effect.

Composed by Kara Williams. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,March. Score and Parts. 69 pages. Kara Williams #870997. Published by Kara Williams (A0.1279514).

The third movement from the four movement 'Suite in Sea' written for clarinet and piano by Kara Williams, 'Brew Time March' has been orchestrated for wind ensemble by the composer and has since proven to be a favourite with performers and audiences.

We follow a young sailor as they excitedly hear the bugle call to have a break from work (brew time), grab a coffee (brew) and sit on the bow to watch the waves… lost in thoughts, the young sailor unexpectedly hears the sound of work recommencing, and scurries back, making it just in the nick of time… waiting eagerly for next the next call for Brew Time!

Opening with the 'Stand Easy' (break time) bugle call, Brew Time March is full of familiarly-sea-worthy sounds, and is a fun concert march that would be a great addition to any ensemble's library.

In the style of a traditional military march, unless otherwise specified, notes should be played slightly detached throughout. Ensure the bass solo has plenty of attitude, and the rhythmic accompanying parts let the melodies breathe. Use a small set of crash cymbals (if parade-style cymbals are not available) - your percussionist will thank you! Also, hit the cymbals together slightly off-centre for zing and dynamic control, and hold the edges of the cymbals against the body to choke the ring where indicated. Keep this march a very steady two-feel throughout; however, feel free to completely stress the upper woodwinds out by going as fast as musically possible where marked at the end :-)

Brew Time March runs for around 2:45 and is scored for full wind ensemble; however, it will work without one, some, or all the following parts: piccolo, 4th clarinet, baritone sax, bass clarinet, bassoon, horns in F, and bass trombone.

ABOUT LIBERTARIA: In a post-USSA apocalyptic world, the young Libertaria escapes from evil geneticists and teams up with her addict father Simeon to defeat the Collective with a ragtag Underground army of cyborgs and misfits. The world’s first machinima opera, Libertaria has been called Groundbreaking by the Palm Beach Arts Paper. A truly dystopian novelization, the Libertaria Chronicles, is now available at Amazon.

One of my favorite things about this story is its odd apocalyptic tone and strong sci-fi/fantasy foundation. The dark quality that comes with it is the cherry on top. –FanboysAnonymous.com

***SCORE and CHORAL SCORE SOLD SEPARATELY***

Nebraska, My Heartland was written to not only celebrate 150 years of Nebraskan history, but to express my own gratitude for all that the Midwestern way of life has to offer. It celebrates the natural beauty of the Sandhills, prairies, forests, and bluffs, along with the strength of its people, its flourishing family friendly communities, and its deep and rich traditions in the arts. I have lived near mountains, near oceans, and visited some of the most beautiful places in the world, but none of those places have ever felt as much like home as Nebraska.

Nebraska, My Heartland incorporates the poetry of both Willa Cather, the famous Nebraskan poet and writer who helped the rest of America gain an appreciation for the pioneer life, and Veronica Torraca-Bragdon, a contemporary poet and friend whose heart will always belong to Nebraska. Cather’s poem, Prairie Spring was chosen because it vividly portrays the struggles of the pioneers who originally settled here, yet juxtaposes this struggle with youthful determination, and the optimism and enthusiasm brought about by hope.  Veronica’s poem, titled Nebraska, is the centerpiece for the fanfare and celebration of a state that abounds with success in all of the ways that make Nebraska a great place to live.

The music begins as the sun is about to rise and burst forth with the promise of a new day. It speaks of Nebraska’s natural beauty and landscapes while the sweet song of the Western Meadowlark, our state bird, drifts on the wind.  Next, the changing seasons and thriving spirit of Nebraska’s people are portrayed with an energetic, youthful melody leading into a celebratory sesquicentennial fanfare. But as the seasons change, the listener is reminded that to thrive is also to persevere, and soon a storm begins to loom. First the rolling thunder, then the rain, and finally the full devastation of nature’s fury are realized by the combined forces of both ensembles. Yet, as hope springs eternal, we are reminded again of the strength of the pioneer and the roots that keep us anchored against the storm. Out of this resilience bursts forth a brilliant light signifying the future that is before us for this generation and the next, ending with words that summarize so eloquently how Nebraskans feel about their home: With loving beauty, you’ll forever shine!

Composed by Charles Wesley. Arranged by Dana F. Everson. Christmas. Sheet Music. Sacred instrumental music. Score and parts. 16 pages. David E. Smith - Digital Sheet Music #169423. Published by David E. Smith - Digital Sheet Music (DX.169423).

A string quartet with optional violin for viola. After a full ensemble introduction the piece gives way to a duet in the viola and cello. With the violins entering one at a time the piece now becomes full with all parts present gravitating to motivic development moving to a modulation. The next section gives the tune to the cello with the upper lines adding punctuated accompanied figures. The next section uses motivic patterns while passing portions of the tune to the various players. A modulation- then the parts become increasingly more active in a variation style. With a solid ensemble altering the melody; a brake; then, repose.

Composed by Alessandro Scarlatti. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Baroque,Opera,Standards. 6 pages. Phil Beaman #5969595. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844886).

The Italian Baroque composer Alessandro Scarlatti wrote Cara e Dolce as a Vocal Aria for his opera Fidalba e Oreste (ca 1679). It was originally written with just melody and a figured bass line. I have arranged it for an Instrumental Trio. I began by putting the original melody and bass line in place with minor changes. Then I realized a single inner voice according to the figured bass. Since there were no lyrics now, I needed to add interest musically. I next elaborated each of the lines with extra notes to create a more melodic line for each part. Then in several places I also elaborated the figured bass and used period chord substitutions to strengthen texture. Next I devised detailed new phrasing to create a more polyphonic feeling. Finally I decorated with numerous baroque ornaments and dynamics. Don't worry, all that effort was just to make it easy and fun for you to play and absolutely gorgeous. This piece is a fantastic addition to Baroque period repertoire.

Composed by Siobhan Dyson. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Film/TV. 50 pages. Siobhan Dyson #706947. Published by Siobhan Dyson (A0.1103677).

Chapter Two This small ensemble piece was written to showcase Siobhan’s second chapter in her life. After six years of higher education study, Siobhan is now ready to move onto the next chapter of her life by writing music for a variety of studios and companies. Siobhan is confident in her pursuit of becoming a well-known composer who is known for writing music for a variety of media. She is already undertaking this task by writing for a documentary and a potential game. Siobhan feels ready to leave and cannot wait to see what this next chapter brings her. She wrote this piece as a farewell to her lecturer of her entire RCS career, Dr Oliver Searle who she has admired and adored throughout her studies. Note from the composer: Dear Oliver, Surprise, I wrote this to say thanks to you, embarrassing I know :/ So as my last final effort to embarrass both of us I wrote this into my programme note. (Kind of cringey and, as I am writing this, I’m getting totes emosh) Thank you for being the best lecturer I could have ever asked for, thank you for being a great person who is caring, kind and someone who truly listens and teaches well. I hope to make you proud in my pursuits! I will always look back on the times of terrible dad jokes (not me), trying to break my stubbornness and all the funny times we had (mostly me :P). I will cherish all you have taught me (except the key signature thing, still not changing my mind on that). You have watched me grow into this weird, funny, and slightly embarrassing person. I don’t think I would be where I am today without you and, from my dark, dark evil heart, thank you for pushing me to being the person I am today. (So, if it all goes wrong, I blame you :P) K, Thanks. Signed: Your favourite.
