Instrumental Duet B-Flat Clarinet,Harp,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552207 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Wedding. Score and parts. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #6265915. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552207). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme(Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers AwakeBach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera.Fourth MovementBach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales.

Brass Quintet Baritone Horn TC,Euphonium,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.817101 Composed by Anatole Liadov and Alexander Glazounov. Arranged by Charles Decker. 19th Century,Contest,Festival,Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. 22 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #3530649. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.817101). These five short, elegant fanfares by former students of Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov were composed for the 1890 concert celebrating his 20 years as professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia. Originally scored for an orchestral brass section, the fanfares retain their brilliance as a brass quintet and parts can be doubled to intensify the musical impact. Arranged for a brass quintet of two B-flat trumpets with alternate C trumpet parts, horn in F with alternate substitute parts for horn (B-flat trumpet, treble and bass clef baritone), trombone with a substitute treble clef baritone for trombone part and tuba. This is a very accessible work for student ensembles and less experienced players that will impress audiences and add festive excitement to concerts or ceremonies. The recording is an actual brass quintet performance and not computer playback.See more than 70 mixed brass ensemble publications at Charles Decker Music Press at Sheet Music Plus for inexperienced to advanced musicians with music ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary new works for trios, quartets, quintets, brass choir and brass band. Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.768520 Composed by Victor Ewald. Arranged by Roar Kvam. 20th Century. 204 pages. KVAMusic Edition #6424311. Published by KVAMusic Edition (A0.768520). Victor Ewald 27 November 1860 - 16 April 1935 Ewald was a Russian composer of music, mainly for conical brass instruments. He was born in Saint Petersburg and died in Leningrad. He also collected and published Russian folk songs. Ewald’s professional life, like that of many of his musical contemporaries, was in an entirely different field; that of a civil engineer, in which he excelled, being appointed in 1900 as professor and manager of the Faculty of Construction Materials at the Institute of Civil Engineers. Brass players however are indebted to him for something very different – a series of quintets which have become a staple of the repertoire and which represent almost the only, and certainly the most extended examples of original literature in the Romantic style. Ewald’s formal musical training began in 1872 when he enrolled at the St Petersburg Conservatory at the age of twelve. Founded in 1861 by Anton Rubenstein, this institution was the first of its kind in Russia and it was here that Ewald received lessons in cornet, piano, horn, cello, harmony and composition. As an adult he worked alongside fellow musical nationalists known collectively as the Mighty Handful-Borodin, Mily Balakirev, CeÌsar Cui, Modest Mussorgsky and the most famous of all, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. All of these men had day jobs in non-musical fields.Ewald’s contributions as a composer reflected an abiding love for brass instruments for which he wrote his quintets scored originally for two cornets, alto horn, baritone horn and tuba. I've edited these four quartets using Ewald's original instrumentation, but there are also separate substitute parts for the modern brass quintet (2 trumpets, horn in F, trombone and tuba). Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1394859 Composed by Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. Arranged by Robert Stevens. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival. 20 pages. SAXpress.com #978341. Published by SAXpress.com (A0.1394859). Flight of the Bumblebee (1900) Nicolai Rimsky Korsakov SATB Saxophone Quartet Everyone knows Flight of the Bumblebee. Originally it was an instrumental interlude in the opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan (1900). Later it gained fame as a piano piece. As arranged for SATB Saxophone Quartet, it is a great little show off piece for a moderately advanced quartet. While no altissimo is required in any part, it requires fast fingers and a good command of chromatic scales from all players. Many people believe Flight of the Bumblebee to be a very difficult workout for musicians. If you're well practiced on chromatic scales and comfortable with alternate fingerings, it's really not so difficult as it sounds. There is no need to tell your audience this fact. As for it being relentlessly fast, the tempo given in the original orchestra score is only 144bpm. Perfomance time on this arrangement is about 1:15 but nothing is stopping you from playing it faster.

Solo Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.841179 Composed by Nicolai Von Wilm. Arranged by John Murphy. Concert,Romantic Period. Individual part. 1 pages. John Murphy #4641895. Published by John Murphy (A0.841179). Armer Mann (Op81 N0 3) by N. Von Wilm (1834-1911) is a beautiful melodic piece with subtle harmonies that suit the intimate characteristics of the solo guitar version. I was able to use the original piano key of A minor in this guitar arrangement because the melody sits so perfectly on the 1st and 2nd strings of the guitar. A unique opportunity to explore inspiring music written for piano but that sounds equally at home on the guitar. Guitar Level: intermediate  This Guitar arrangement  is available in 3 versions: 1. Score (notes and Tab) 2. Notes Only 3. Tab only for Guitar
