French Horn,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548477 Composed by Mueller. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #3386535. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548477). Traditional Christmas song arranged for Horn in F and Piano. Third verse features new harmony. Score: 2 pg. Part: 1 pg.Away in a Manger Away in a Manger is a popular Christmas song published originally sometime in the later 19th century and performed throughout the world. In England, it is considered one of the two most popular carols of all time; a 1996 poll ranked it as a tie for second place. To begin with, many thought it was written by Martin Luther, but now the song is considered to be absolutely American. The most common musical arrangements are by William Kirkpatrick (1895) and James R. Murray (1887). The melody was first published, as Luther's Cradle Hymn, by James R. Murray. Then, came a confusing series of explanations about how Martin Luther wrote the song. Murray even went so far as to suggest that Luther wrote it for his children. As a result, the song has become known as simply Mueller. Nobody knows who this Mueller actually is, but the name stuck. Popularity By the 1880’s the cradle song was being performed in church. By the 1990’s the song was becoming the most popular Christmas song of all time. It was sung in school, in church, and at home by nearly everyone. Other musical settings The first musical setting published with the lyrics appeared in the Little Children's Book for Schools and Families (1885). The title was Away in a Manger. This edition is the first one not to attribute the song to Martin Luther.   Charles H. Gabriel was the first arranger to present the third verse. He also composed and published a large number of different arrangements of the song. In one of his settings, he supplies a chorus for each verse with asleep sung in canon. Another prevalent preparation uses the lyrics to the melody Flow Gently, Sweet Afton. Yet another arrangement dating uses the lyrics to an old Normandy Carol.  Register for free lifetime updates and revisions of this product at www.jamesguthrie.com

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977361 Composed by John Barry. Arranged by Des McNutty. Contemporary. Score and parts. 14 pages. Des Press #6857803. Published by Des Press (A0.977361). Do you expect me to talk? No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! It's hard to get more iconic than Sean Connery as James Bond in the 1964 blockbuster, Goldfinger, with Gert Fröbe in the title role.John Barry composed the metal-heavy score and the title song. It was his personal favorite.Barry named Shirley Bassey as the ideal interpretrix for Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley's lyrics with her can belto delivery. Nobody could have sung it like her; she had that great dramatic sense. he said. But the name-dropping doesn't end there: The session producer at Abbey Road Studios was George Martin (who produced for The Beatles). Strumming away on guitars are John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page, who later became half of rock legends Led Zeppelin. That's a whole lotta awesome! This arrangement for string quartet is a relatively straight-forward idiomatic transcription but transposed to the tonality of the sheet music published in 1964. The recording with Shirley Bassey is a semitone lower. The level is intermediate in a technical sense but please pay attention to style. Try to leave your audience emotionally stirred, not shaken. Enjoy!

Easy Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596592 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Juan Maria Solare #5799759. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596592). About the music Both pieces of this diptych are miniatures with a structure quite similar to each of the pieces of the Album für die Jugend Opus 68 by Robert Schumann. The melodies are strongly rooted in Japanese music (particularly obvious in the second piece). Aesthetically, this is neoclassical music (a quite broad concept nowadays). Fans of Erik Satie, Ludovico Einaudi or Joep Beving will possibly feel at home. Both pieces were composed on 6 June 2020 (the first one with my daughter Laura sleeping on my breast). Find this music soon on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube or any other streaming platform (either under my name or performed by other pianists, possibly Iannis Eralos). Because… where is the issue with weeping? The first step is to accept that pain exists. Nobody has the moral authority to deny you the possibility of crying. Weeping is not a shame or a disgrace. Besides, only he who weeps is credible when he laughs.  By the way, these words are sometimes attributed to Confucius. I leave to you the task of determining whether Jacobowski borrowed this thought from him.
