Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017037 Composed by Adam Lawrence. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Folk. Score and part. 2 pages. Adam Lawrence #6016571. Published by Adam Lawrence (A0.1017037). Please note that this is the EUPHONIUM part only. Other individual parts are available, as well as a bundle of the score with all individual parts included. One of my COVID19 summer lock-down projects, primarily inspired by recent events that saw the world come to a standstill. Written in treble clef for Bb instruments, this piece is great for any brass player looking for a solo piece to add to their repertoire. Whilst it is written with a piano accompaniment in mind, the accompaniment is primarily there to provide rhythm and bulk. As such it can be played without it, provided that the block rests are ignored.Original piece of music composed for a Solo Euphonium player of intermediate experience with a piano accompaniment, ideal for secondary school students or beginner players looking to challenge themselves. Can be played by itself as a standalone performance, for example in a talent or variety show, or as part of a larger programme such as a school concert or brass band performance.Any feedback is more than welcome.Composed using Sibelius Ultimate 2020.6 and recorded using sounds from Noteperformer 3. If you have enjoyed my work and would like to play my pieces yourself or discover more, please consider showing support using the links below.Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FireyshadowsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-vjf3a0uLYnZ9-fm3cC0lgSoundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/fireyshadows-music/Twitter: https://twitter.com/FireyMusic

Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.940772 Composed by Nick Walkley. Christian,Contemporary,Patriotic,World. Score and parts. 15 pages. Nick Walkley #3433499. Published by Nick Walkley (A0.940772). This is a meditative arrangement of a well known Norwegian hymn. The arrangement sets three verses of the melody 'bookended' by a mirrored introduction and coda. It was originally written for and performed by the cornet section of the Band of the Welsh Guards, before being also expanded to military (wind) and brass band formats. In the hymn, one sings of a hopeful final journey to a place without worry or sorrow. The arrangement reflects the mood of these three verses, with increaing tension and movement through ascending lines as the journey progresses towards a final resting place. The hymn is regularly used at funerals and memorial services. The text was originally old German and translated to Norwegian by Bernt Støyland in 1905. Translated to English, the text reads as:I know a castle in heaven above, shining as bright as the sun; you'll find no sin nor sorrow there, and never a tear is shed.I am a weary traveller; may my path lead me from here to my Father's land; God, bless me on my way.We thank you for eternity God the Father, one in three. For you are gentle and mild to us in Jesus Christ! Amen.Note to performers:The opening and closing sections require precision in the start and release of notes for the chord progression to function. Attention to detail should be paid to each individual crescendi, diminuendi and articulation. This is excellent training for all brass musicians!

Concert band - Grade 1 - Digital Download SKU: IZ.CBW184 Composed by Daniel Jones. Score and Parts. 62 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CBW184. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBW184). 9 x 12 in inches.Dorian Blues provides for a wealth of fun, yet educational musical moments for young musicians. Directors will have the opportunity to discuss modes, blues scales, and medieval plainchant. The piece mixes quasi-Dorian and blues scales and is grounded around the pitch concert D; therefore, the piece is largely in d-minor, a highly accessible key for emerging musicians. Students will have the opportunity to perform a variety of articulations, rhythms, accidentals and tempi. In addition, the numerous texture and mood changes will challenge the musicianship skills of the performers. The syncopated rhythms and quarter-note triplets will also provide for excellent teachable moments. The use of medieval modes in jazz certainly isn't a new concept as artists like Miles Davis utilized Dorian in So What, and John Coltrane as well in Impressions. Traditionally, modes have been found in instrumental music for centuries as seen in Sibelius' 6th Symphony, and more recently employed in wind band examples for students such as Elliot del Borgo's Dorian Rhapsody. Dorian Blues, however, is perhaps the first piece for young band that combines medieval chant on D Dorian with jazz-like rhythms and blue-notes.

Performers of this arrangement may choose to devise a similar scheme providing there are enough players in the ensemble. In this arrangement the range of each part has been reduced, some notes from the melody have been moved to Part 2 and additional rests introduced to assist with breathing for wind players. Programme note:The Water Music is a collection of orchestral movements composed by George Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759). It was first performed on the River Thames in London on 17 July 1717, in response to King George I's request for a concert on the River. The Water Music has been published as three suites, and the Bourrée and Hornpipe appear as movements 7 and 8 in the Suite No. 1 in F major (HMV 348).The Bourrée is a dance of French origin and the Hornpipe is any of several dance forms played and danced in Britain and Ireland from the 16th century onwards.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835771 Composed by Paul Burnell. Contemporary. Score. 21 pages. Paul Burnell #3110459. Published by Paul Burnell (A0.835771). Subside (from choleric to phlegmatic and back again) Composed 2004 Duration 6:00 approx. For ensemble and percussion This work was written in February 2004 in response to a call for pieces on the theme of 'The Four Temperaments'. This was part of CoMA’s Open Score project, made possible with funds from the Esmée Fairbairn and PRS Foundations. Programme note:'Subside' outlines a slow mood change from controlled violent anger to tenderness, then a sudden flip back to anger again. Technical notes: Percussion is essential, with the choice of instruments left to the discretion of the player(s), using the directions in the one-page score as a guide. The percussionists play on the 2nd and 4th beats throughout the piece - accenting the 4th beat. Other instrumentalists are divided between Parts 1 - 4. Parts are available in numerous transpositions - though it should be possible for instruments in C to read from the score. The dynamic markings in the score apply to all the parts. The size of the ensemble is not indicated, but ideally there should be enough players to allow for a reduction in the number of people playing two bars before letter D, and a further reduction to solo instruments six bars before letter E. However, this guidance can be ignored and the piece played by quite a small group; for example - violin, piano and percussion, or organ and percussion. If flutes and violins play Part 1 - the flutes may play an octave higher than written until letter A, and the violins may play tremolando until letter A. Keyboard players can play combinations of all parts. In addition, or alternatively, the keyboard players may double parts 3 and 4 an octave lower than written where indicated by the horizontal brackets, for example in the third and fourth bars. The allocation of instruments to the parts is left to the discretion of the musical director / performers - but should take account of the dynamic markings and expression indications. The last 2 bars of the piece are played 5 times in total.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1343120 Composed by Nicholas Yandell. 20th Century,21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Sacred. Score. 7 pages. Nicholas Yandell Music #928399. Published by Nicholas Yandell Music (A0.1343120). Premiered July 15, 2023 at the Cascadia Composers In Good Hands student piano concert at Portland State University, in Portland, Oregon, USA.Composed in 2023.Level: Intermediate level; great for a high school student recital, but could be a very managable piece for a college student as well. Composition notes: The first of a trio of pieces called Breathing Structures, this piece was written for and premiered/performed by Andrew Bren as part of the Cascadia Composers' In Good Hands program (where composers write custom works student performers). This is a expressive, post-minimalist influenced composition, with flexible tempos and dynamics. Great for students who are interested in late 20th-century/early 21st-century classical music influenced by Philip Glass, John Adams, Michael Torke, and Ludovico Einaudi. The following poem serves as the program note for this work: The Emergence Stepping out that place of hidingAn infernal state of comfortWith smothering holds of safetyShielding from rays of lucidity. Stumbling forwardOne step pastThe formerly towering limit.A rush of adrenalineAn urge of retreatBut staying firmly plantedWith bristling folliclesAnd quickened breathing.Transformation is jarringShedding skin is tiringYet soon will exhilarateReleasing onwardLeaving old pathsAs distant dreamsPainted by the hazeOf the oncoming gleam.Performing Rights Organization: ASCAPComposer's website: https://www.nicholasyandell.com.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.817949 Composed by Adrian Dee. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score and Parts. 97 pages. Adrian Dee #6682479. Published by Adrian Dee (A0.817949). I wrote Fantasy in the late spring of 2019. Before I could arrange a premier, the COVID-19 pandemic set in and everything stopped. I finally had the joy of premiering the piece on December 8, 2021, with my home team the Newport Symphony in Newport, Oregon, with Adam Flatt conducting. The audience was on their feet for both the matinee and the evening performances, so I guess they liked it! The piece is melodic, rhythmic, tonal, and just plain fun to play. It goes together easily. Each movement is about five and a half minutes, total play time about 17 minutes. It is appropriate for advanced student groups as well as professional groups. The first movement, Busy Day (Presto), makes repeated use of a four-note motif (G-F-A-D) and is a driving non-stop articulated melody.  The second movement, Lullabye (Andante), opens and closes with the flute playing a brief cadenza, floating above an ambiguous chord in the strings. The bulk of the movement is a dovetailed hypnotic ostinato in the strings with a gentle rocking motion, and the simple flute melody above. The third movement, Wild Dreams (Presto), should be exactly that, wild and raucous, with heavy aggressive accents as indicated. For additional notes, see p. 2 of the PDF.The Youtube link above (Watch) is a recording I made at home in 2020 with my computer playing the string parts. This is the first movement, the second and third follow. It is my sincere hope that this piece will bring joy and exuberance for both the performers and the audience. Let me know if you schedule a performance; I’d love to hear what someone else does with it.adriandeeflute@gmail.com adriandee.com

2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977034 Composed by Paul SanGregory. Contemporary. Score. 29 pages. Distant Engraver Music #3536815. Published by Distant Engraver Music (A0.977034). Each of these four short pieces has its own character, color and rhythmic flow. Because the interplay between parts is sometimes complex and challenging, they can provide wonderful ensemble workouts for performers as well as fun and exciting musical experiences for audiences. The title Harmonic Spaces refers to both the idea that they are musical spaces filled with colors and characters as well as to the widely-spaced harmonic intervals upon which those aspects are built. Each movement is based on one or two wide intervals that mimic the spacing of overtones (or partials) in the harmonic series. This approach allowed the composer to produce unique harmonies, colors and atmospheres. For listeners, of course, knowledge of these intervals isn't important, even though the colors, characters and atmospheres they produce is. Each movement is described briefly below: I - Simply and gracefully moving forward. (9th and 3rd partials)This gently flowing movement is a slow progression of widely-spaced chords with gracefully rising and falling strings of notes woven in and around them. The chords often appear in groups of two, with the second being quieter, like an echo of the first. That creates a sense of harmonic space within which the delicate lines move in and out of agreement with the chords.II - With a steady, even flow (or groove). (7th and 5th partials)The harmonic partials of this movement are what give dominant 7th chords their characteristic sound and function. Furthermore, because 7th chords are an important part of jazz harmony, jazz influences enter into this piece. Listeners may notice the outlines of gliding 7th chords, swinging meters and syncopated rhtyhms reminiscent of jazz.III - Gentle, flexible, but rhythmically accurate. (11th Partial)This movement unfolds slowly like a quiet summer afternoon under a shade tree watching lazy clouds. Because the 11th partial is a note that falls between the cracks of the piano keyboard, both the perfect 4th and augmented 4th (in very wide spacing) are used to approximate it. Although this creates some non-traditional harmonies and non-chord tone effects, the piece is tranquil, peaceful and beautiful. IV - With precision, energy and excitement. (13th Partial)This energetic finale uses much syncopation and rhythmic interplay as well as wide-ranging arpeggios that get shared between the two players. The primary interval often appears as widely spaced parallel motion, which adds a special color or flavor to the rhythms. The result is a joyful romp in a playground of rhythm, color, motion and contrast. (duration of all four pieces is ca. 12 minutes) This work was funded by the National Culture and Arts Foundation of Taiwan (ROC)
