Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534651 Composed by Clémence de Grandval. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 73 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #5721673. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534651). Maria-Félicie-Clémence de Grandval (1828–1907) was born on January 28, 1828 at Saint-Rémy-des-Monts, France and died on January 15, 1907 in Paris. After the death of her mother, Louise Adèle du Temple de Mésières, her father the Baron de Reiset, a military officer remarried with an Englishwoman and moved his family to London. After beginning her musical studiesprivately, she studied the piano with the German composer Friedrich von Flotow, who was a family friend. Returning to France, she studied the piano briefly with Chopin and composition with Camille Saint-Saëns. At first writing mostly sacred music, most of her public success was due to her comic operas: la Comtesse Eva, la Pénitente, Piccolino and Mazeppa. She also wrote orchestral music, chamber music, and over 60 songs (to poets such as Sully-Prudhomme, Michel Carré, Henri Meilhac, Georges Hartmann, Charles Grandmougin and Louis Gallet.) She is chieflyknown today for her music for wind instruments, especially for the oboe.Scored for 2222/2000/strings, this item is the score and complete parts.  The score only is availabel as a seperate item.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927844 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Gianmaria Griglio. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 92 pages. Gianmaria Griglio #4988065. Published by Gianmaria Griglio (A0.927844). The Gypsy Baron (German: Der Zigeunerbaron) is an operetta in three acts by Johann Strauss II which premiered at the Theater an der Wien on 24 October 1885. During the composer's lifetime, the operetta enjoyed great success, second only to the popularity of Die Fledermaus (The bat). The Ouverture is a very popular piece, often performed during concerts but it normally requires large orchestral forces: hence the present arrangement, which only requires 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 clarinet, 1 bassoon, 1 horn, 2 percussion players, and strings.P.S.: if you want to listen to a beautiful performance of this Ouverture check out the Vienna Philharmonic with Carlos Kleiber. It's absolutely brilliant!

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1322867 Composed by Malcolm D Robertson. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 111 pages. Mr Malcolm D Robertson #911135. Published by Mr Malcolm D Robertson (A0.1322867). Composed between the end of December 2022 & the start of July 2023. The Symphony is in 4 movements following a more classical ordering and is a little under 35 minutes in length. The initial rising scale idea with 'missing' notes pervades much of the material in the symphony The symphony took longer to compose than is normal for me as it was composed during the difficult period of my father's swiftly evolving final illness, death & dealing with the aftermath. The shadow of my father's final illness & witnessing his swift decline particularly hangs over the slow 2nd movement. The first movement after a broad but forward moving introduction, is energetic with a continual forward momentum. The 3rd movement is a deliberately elusive scherzo movement with a strange inconclusive coda. The finale, after a reserved opening is surprisingly optimistic pushing to a sonorous conclusion. As is the norm for me, I composed directly into full score.Orchestral parts can be supplied upon request.

Flute,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025532 Composed by Douglas Knehans. Contemporary. Score and part. 68 pages. Armadillo Edition #4823081. Published by Armadillo Edition (A0.1025532). **** ...wonderfully orchestrated... dynamic and endlessly evolving...-BBC Music MagazineTempest is a flute concerto and takes its idea from the movement of the wind around the world, and the  'deeper aspects of the human condition, the human experience, thought, reflection, psychology and emotion'. The turbulent opening is immediately arresting. and one can imagine the swirling wind flowing around powerfully. Pulsing rhythms and captivating brass lines reinforce this sense of power, before the mood breaks into a more gentle duo moment for flute and harp. Knehans' orchestration is imaginative and full of colour, making effective use of different timbral combinations and creating a transparency of texture through the use of solo lines from around the orchestra. The flute part is dazzling and takes centre stage with a sense of charismatic virtuosity. Challenging and exhilarating throughout, the first movement has the sort of energy one might associate with the opening movement of the lbert concerto, but intensified and developed to reflect the 21st century flute and the modem world. The second movement has a greater sense of stillness, and the flute line weaves around relatively static strings, low woodwind. Despite the stillness, an underlying intensity gives the music a brooding feel; this is music that deals with profound ideas, and as such, it is vital that the music, too, has depth. Knehans has achieved this convincingly; this is a piece which demands attention and holds you in its spell. The final movement is full of rhythmic punchiness and fantastic orchestral energy. The scoring is once again highly imaginative, making use of bassoons and low brass in pounding rhythms punctuated by the strings. Over all of this, (flutist) Gareth Davies astonishes and dazzles; displaying not only a phenomenal technique but also a magnetic energy and charisma which is spellbinding . I would not be exaggerating to say that this is one of the best flute recordings I have heard for a long time.An impressively vibrant compositional voice. String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.878900 Composed by Eric Moore. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 83 pages. Cello Loft #3420919. Published by Cello Loft (A0.878900). Written for an advanced high school cellist to play with his/her own school orchestra. This is a great way to feature a fantastic cellist while introducing the whole orchestra (and audience) to some accessible trends in contemporary music. The orchestra students were *very* excited and engaged with this piece, and the audience absolutely loved it.Compositional goals included:Accessible introduction to contemporary music.Fun and engaging parts for each section of the orchestraHighlight both cellist and orchestra with parts that sound difficult but are relatively simple.Clear-cut form and motivic material as a starting point for discussion of composition.Circles is 11:00 long, in 4 movements with no breaks.Mvt I. Circles begins high-energy and includes sweeping arpeggio figures and measured tremolo oscillations. The energy dissipates and a simple lyrical theme emerges, battling complications as they arise in the orchestra.Mvt II. Passacaglia is built over an exotic vamp and includes jete (to imitate castanets), col legno, snap pizz and instrument slaps. Mvt III. Lament begins with the soloist doing slow pizzicato arpeggiations while the orchestra bows weeping chords. Eventually, everyone is pizzicato, echoing and transforming the solo line. A cello cadenza recalls material from the Passacaglia. The soloist introduces triple-stop string crossings that lead into the fourth movement.Mvt IV. Coda is fast, with the triple stops in the solo part as a moto perpetuo, while the string sections come in one-by-one underneath. By the end, everyone is bowing and we circle back to the opening material of the 1st movement. The Soloist should be fluent through 3 octaves.Orchestra parts are easier and generally require fluency through 4th position. Written in 2011-12 and premiered by Eric with the Mountain View High School (Loveland, CO), Peter Toews conducting. Recording is of that premier. Eric can provide a MIDI if desired.Eric is happy to work with the orchestra and/or soloist via Skype (or a similar arrangement).

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1404778 Composed by Stanley M Hoffman. Arranged by Stanley M Hoffman. 20th Century,21st Century,Classical. 88 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #987840. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1404778). Written in 2024, Romance for String Orchestra is unabashedly tonal piece based on music from my compositions Romance for Orchestra (1982) and Pasacalle Triste (2024). Romance for Orchestra was composed as my undergraduate thesis at The Boston Conservatory of Music and has since writhed in obscurity. One understands why, though: various passages sound like juvenilia. Still, others sound a good deal stronger, and it is those passages that I have rescued, and which are featured in Romance for String Orchestra. Newly composed passages bracket and are intertwined with older ones, many of which are here transposed. Though just a smattering when compared to the number of passages borrowed from Romance for Orchestra, the ones borrowed from Pasacalle Triste nonetheless provide a meaningful creative arc manifested in one composition, and they provide just the right touches during various sequential passages. Speaking of sequences, Romance for Orchestra contains what is for my oeuvre the most expansive sequence I have composed to date; in both cases that sequence leads to the formal recapitulation of the main theme in the tonic key C Minor. I hope you enjoy Romance for Orchestra. Thank you for your time and attention.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1412646 By Brent C Robitaille. By Brent C Robitaille. 21st Century,Classical. 83 pages. Brent C Robitaille #994677. Published by Brent C Robitaille (A0.1412646). One Second to the Future (Guitar Orchestra) Composer: Brent Robitaille  • “One Second to the Future†is a two-movement piece for either a single or optional double guitar orchestra with four separate parts for electric guitar and classical guitar. Two optional steel string guitar and electric bass parts are available but may be substituted if these instruments are unavailable. The total score will be around 500 measures with a running time of approximately 12-15 minutes. The piece is quite approachable for intermediate-level guitarists, with the more challenging sections arranged for the 1st and 2nd parts of the electric and classical guitar. Three overhead mics from the stage will be used to spatialize the sound into a stereo or surround sound system.  • The first movement starts with a fixed audio shortwave recording from the Canadian time signal shortwave station CHU, gently fading in for approximately 20 seconds before the guitar orchestra begins with natural and artificial harmonics.  • The second fixed audio track gently enters around the 1:00-minute mark. This track was recorded using eight amplified and non-amplified guitars in altered tunings with eight separate microphones to integrate into stereo or surround sound. The guitar's open strings were left to vibrate sympathetically as the volume increased and struck on the headstock with various rubber and metal sticks, violin bows or paint brushes to get the strings vibrating. The resulting wave files were then imported into a sampling program and filtered into the overtone series with “C†as the fundamental, emphasising the first 14 partials. This recording will be used intermittently throughout the first movement, acting primarily as a background pad.   • At approximately 3:00 minutes into the first movement, the players are asked to use a glass or metal slide to tap out rhythms based on the international Morse code. Several other standard slide guitar techniques are also integrated into this section. See instructions in the score. The first movement ends with both fixed audio tracks fading away.  • The second movement integrates a more traditional guitar playing and composition approach. Its bulk is at a robust tempo of 160 bpm and uses several rhythmic and timbral techniques, including sul tasto, sul ponticello, harmonics, golpe, string snaps, and the further use of guitar slides.  • Midway through the second movement, a rallentando proceeds to a section indicated by the tempo mark “slow motion.†At this point, a third fixed audio recording of a single vibrating guitar string slowed down by 3000% will fade in. The orchestra is instructed to play with this recording in slow motion or approximately 30 bpm. See score for details. The orchestra eventually returns to the original tempo to finish the 2nd movement.  Technical Requirements • Three mono or stereo mics from the orchestra will be required and blended with the stereo or surround sound. • A standard guitar delay and distortion pedal for electric guitar parts one and two is required. • Glass and metal guitar slides are required.   To download the fixed audio tracks, go here: https://soundcloud.com/kalymi/sets/one-second-to-the-future-guitar-orchestra-fixed-audio-tracks For fixed audio track information and information, contact me at:info@brentrobitaille.com.

Sweet Suzanne - p. 37 Strings & Threads Suite for violin and string orchestra is a piece comprising thirteen tunes composed by Mark O’Connor. In 1986, the Tennessee Dance Theater commissioned the Suite to be performed at Nashville’s Summer Lights Festival. A few years later Edgar Meyer provided the beautiful string orchestra arrangement that is contained in this score. The individual tunes are in various folk styles appearing in a chronological order O’Connor says, not only represents the evolution of American folk music, but also mirrors his own family’s migration from Ireland and Holland to America. It traces the family’s route through the thirteen colonies initially, and then eventually West during WWI nearly 300 hundred years later. O’Connor wrote the pieces in a manner and style he felt his family could have heard along the way. The Suite begins with Irish music, perhaps similar to the music O’Connor’s family brought with them. Then in a thoughtful progression, he reveals music they must have encountered living in early America. Strings & Threads musically describes how folk music styles hundreds of years apart are interconnected – possessing a common thread – from an Irish reel to jazz. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels but portions of the piece can be appropriate for beginners. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1986 Composed By Mark O’ConnorString Orchestra arrangement by Edgar MeyerStrings & Threads Suite (violin and string orchestra version) can be heard on American Seasons Sony Classical Mark O’Connor – violin, Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra, Scott YooCatalogue Number MO134BCopyright © 1986 by Mark O’Connor Music InternationalFor more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:www.oconnormethod.com
