Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Leyandder Trustworthy. Baroque,Christian,Easter,Sacred,World. Score. 3 pages. Leyandder Trustworthy #6331227. Published by Leyandder Trustworthy (A0.964505).

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is a popular piece of choral music. It was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is the 10th movement of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. It was written during Bach's first year in Leipzig, Germany. Bach did not compose the melody. That was written by Johann Schop. Bach only harmonized and orchestrated Schop's melody. A transcription of Jesu was done by English pianist Myra Hess (1890-1965), and was published in 1926 for solo piano.
In 1934, Hess' version was adapted for piano duet. British organist Peter Hurford made a transcription of Jesu for organ. Today, Bach's piece is often performed at weddings and funerals. Bach wrote the piece for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings and continuo. Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is one of Bach's most enduring pieces of music.
The present version is a facilitated reduction of the theme where it is soloed by Organ and chords. Ideal for young music students in the area, if you don't have a teacher to play along, search for item number: S0.1006121, here is an audio playback so you can play and study with ease and fluidity.

Composed by Thos Williams, George J. Elvey. Arranged by Zack Richards. Christian,Contemporary,Easter,Sacred. Score and parts. 11 pages. Zack Richards #5191159. Published by Zack Richards (A0.894383).

I originally wrote this as a Trumpet duet with Organ, which is also available on my website. I wrote this arrangement for a special performance on Easter Sunday 2011 at my Elementary School music teacher's church, where she is the organist. It is one of my first arrangements and is perfect for a prelude or feature for any Easter service.  Two well-known tunes are used in this arrangement. Truro from Psalmodia Evangelica, 1789 by Thos Williams and Diademata from Appendix to Hymns Ancient and Modern, 1868 by George J. Elvey.

Composed by Charles Austin Miles. Arranged by KATHLEEN HOLYOAK. Christian,Easter,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Kathleen Holyoak #1037515. Published by Kathleen Holyoak (A0.1458588).

This famous and beloved old song, written by Charles Austin Miles in 1912, is often sung at funerals and was inspired by John, Chapter 20 in the Bible where Mary goes to the Garden Easter morning and finds the tomb of Jesus empty. Mary is distraught but then she hears a voice and realizes it is the voice of Jesus and not the gardener.  Upon many requests, the arranger, Kathleen Holyoak, has written this as an organ solo, having previously published it for vocal solo and instrumental versions.  This is one title every organist needs to include in their library or organ music.

The words are inspiring and can be printed in a program as follows:

I come to the garden alone
while the dew is still on the roses,
and the voice I hear falling on my ear
the Son of God discloses.

And he walks with me, and he talks with me,
and He tells me I am his own;
and the joy we share as we tarry there,
none other has ever known.
