Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1153733 By Stewart J Wallace. By Traditional. Arranged by Stewart J Wallace. 19th Century,A Cappella,Comedy,Folk,Traditional. Octavo. 12 pages. Stewart J Wallace #753994. Published by Stewart J Wallace (A0.1153733). An arrangement of the traditional West Country English folksong Widicombe Fair for SATB a cappella voices. This is a ghostly and humorous tale of Tom Pearce's old grey mare and the motley collection of Bill Brewer, Jan Stewar, Peter Gurney, Peter Davey, Daniel Widdon, Harry Hawke and old Uncle Tom Cobley who all endeavour to go to Widicombe Fair with the horse as their means of transport. The melody is mainly in the tenors and basses at the beginning, and there is a minor section for two verses in the middle. In the original song there are up to 9 verses with several variations, but this arrangement cuts it down to 8 verses which is still almost 4 minutes running time! A simple piano, guitar, or accordion accompaniment can be added by playing the chord symbols and the choir should be encouraged to add vocal effects to bring this song (and possibly the old grey mare) alive.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1091230 By Masakazu YAMAMOTO. By Claude Debussy. Arranged by Masakazu YAMAMOTO. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Pop. 14 pages. Motch Music #695394. Published by Motch Music (A0.1091230). Arrangement for concert band. This is the third song of Suite â€Bergamasque composed by Claude Debussy around 1890. Written in the style of nocturne, it is one of the most famous songs in Debussy's work. And also it is often featured as a repertoire among classical pianos as a whole. In this arrangement, while respecting the original song, bold “reharmonization†(change of chord) is applied. And further, an opening section as fade-in effect and an ending section extending the aftertaste time are added. All of them are used for creating new attractive of this song. And, I am also inspired by the title “A sentimental promenade which had been named at the time of publication in 1900-1901. There are many weak sounds throughout this song, but each phrase requires a rich expression centered on romanticism. At the same time, it is also important for the phrase to be passed down smoothly, and especially in the middle part, a flowing propulsion is required. I hope that those elements will be organically linked to the harmony taste, which is the key to this arrangement. Commissioned by conductor Keiko Kobayashi, and the Sony Concert Band. Premiered on July 2, 2022. Playing time: about 5'30(arr. Choral Choir (SAT) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1274473 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Contest,Festival,Folk,Multicultural,World. Octavo. 10 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #866616. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1274473). This is one of the most popular and best-loved folksongs of all time, made famous by Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and many others. The song is thought to have originated over four hundred years ago. Scarborough Fair is in the Dorian mode and a song suitable for any happy occasion. Its celebratory quality would make it ideal for holidays, end-of-semester concerts, weddings or folk music events. There are many different versions of the lyrics and by the end of the 19th century, dozens of variants existed. In this arrangement, four of the most popular verses have been used. The repeated chorus of “parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme†is significant. In olden times, these herbs had medicinal purposes. In addition, parsley was associated with comfort, sage with strength, rosemary with love and thyme with courage. Scarborough (SKAH-buh-ruh) is an English coastal town in the county of Yorkshire. It was occupied by the Romans during the fourth and fifth centuries but today has become the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast with a thriving fishing industry.  In this arrangement, each section of the choir shares the melody and the voice parts avoid difficult leaps. All the vocal parts are safely within normal range. Your choir is sure to enjoy singing this rewarding arrangement. This is scored for SAT choir and ideal for high school or college use where there are often fewer lower voices. The vocal ranges are Soprano 1: D4-E5; Alto: A3 (one note)-E5 (one note); Tenor: C3-D4.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956669 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Celtic,Concert,Standards,Wedding. 9 pages. C Melville-Mason #6867575. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956669). Mairi’s Wedding (or the Lewis Bridal Song) is generally regarded as a Scottish folk tune, though it is accredited to J R Bannerman in 1934, who composed the song to celebrate Mary C McNiven winning the prestigious gold medal for singing at that year’s National Mod competition.  The original song was in Gaelic – English words were added later, though these give the song a rather different character.  In Scotland, the tune is used as a pipe band march and for Scottish country dancing.  It can frequently be heard at some stage during a wedding celebration!

Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1444898 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Celtic,Folk,Historic,Irish,Multicultural,World. 20 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #1024766. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1444898). This is one of the most popular and best-loved folksongs of all time, made famous by Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and many others. The song is in the Dorian mode and thought to have originated over four hundred years ago.  Scarborough (SKAH-buh-ruh) is an English coastal town in the county of Yorkshire. The repeated chorus of “parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme” is significant. In olden times, these herbs had medicinal purposes. In addition, parsley was associated with comfort, sage with strength, rosemary with love and thyme with courage. The song takes the form of a melancholy dialogue between two individuals who were once lovers but now live separate lives. Each of them asks the listener to pass on a message to the other. The young man requests impossible tasks from his former lover, saying that if she can perform them, he will take her back. In return, she requests equally impossible things of him, saying she will perform her tasks when he performs his. The fact that all the tasks are impossible seems to imply that neither of them have any intention of becoming reunited.  This arrangement for woodwind instruments and piano stays well within the instrumental ranges and attempts to reflect the melancholy feeling of the lyrics. The clarinet part avoids awkward movement around the break. This arrangement would make a splendid encore piece for a recital.
