Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.762491 By Elle King. By Dave Bassett and Tanner Schneider. Arranged by Rowena Harper. A Cappella,Barbershop,Pop. Octavo. 9 pages. Rowena Harper #4330565. Published by Rowena Harper (A0.762491). A challenging rhythmic arrangement with some fun characterisation and comical lyrics discussing Elle King's previous lovers!  Where the guitar lead would do a solo / lead break, in this arrangement the baritone sings a cameo with her own contribution to the list of lovers adding further comic appeal to the song.  This cameo also includes some four part triplets that have real attitude, however this section could also be easily cut out to suit the performers, instead going directly to the chorus.  Purchasing allows printing of one copy, and one copy per singer is required.Range (Lowest-Highest): Bass E-E, Baritone B-B, Lead B-B, Tenor G-G.The price is for a set of parts (four copies).  Also available priced at the large ensemble rate - see my other listings.(Note: This sheet music is notated in barbershop format: Tenor (S.1) and Lead (S.2) in treble clef , Baritone (A.1) and Bass (A.2) in bass clef. The Bass clef parts are sung an octave higher than written.) Contact: acappellatenor@gmail.com or on FB Rowena Harper Arrangements.

Voice Duet Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576010 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. 3 pages. David Warin Solomons #2029831. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576010). Comic song about a naughty dog, based on a poem by Mary Holtby (permission obtained from the copyright holder). (The poem is, in turn, a parody of TS Eliot's Macavity the mystery cat) The sound sample is a performance by the composer. A video can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLXg78wzhR0 This can be sung by contralto or countertenor, but a countertenor will find it easier to reach the occasional comical bass note phrases. (A contralto could simply go into speaking voice at those points if required) The music has also been arranged for bassoon and guitar (McQuiddity for bassoon and guitar) and a more extensive arrangement for organ solo, under the title My Quiddity.

Piano Quintet Cello,Piano,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1312666 By Cello - Will Mace, Robert Aston - Piano, Viola - Zoe Greenhalgh, and Violins - Matthew Chadbond and James Warburton. By Geraldine (Denny) Green. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. 222 pages. Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic #901515. Published by Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic (A0.1312666). ALL PURCHASES COME WITH SCORE AND PARTSIn 4 movements – total duration 35 minutes.Quincie was written between July 2018 and January 2019. I had just begun receiving the main ideas for it when a pianist I know locally, Robert Aston, happened to ask me if I had written anything for piano and string quartet. I believe that Quincie “heard†this and that was the trigger and the door unlocking. Because the next thing I knew I was absolutely engulfed in the writing of this work for the next six months.Like all my works, this one is an emotional journey, and my own nickname for it is Quincie, The Comic Healer. Each movement tells a progressive story of the different stages of a journey through a long period of grief, illness, depression and chronic anxiety. The overall mood of the whole piece is extremely energetic, loving, warm, compassionate and audience friendly, and while there is some heart ache in the middle of the first movement, the work is also extremely comical and hilarious in its third and fourth movements. It has a great sense of slapstick humour alongside the deep ache of grief and unfathomable sadness. It is completely tonal and in a highly Romantic style. It has enjoyed the following performances:April 27th 2019 at the Triangle Church, Bolton BL1 5QP 7.30pm by the Pennine QuintetJune 1st 2019 at the Victoria Hall, Knowsley St. Bolton BL1 2AS at 1pm Lunchtime concert, by the Pennine QuintetJuly 7th 2019 at the Horwich Community Centre, Beaumont Rd, BL6 7BG at 2.45pm as part of the Horwich Music Festival.A great start for a brand new work! My gratitude to the Pennine Quintet and concert organizers is immense and not something I will ever forget. Thank you. The following performance was recorded and filmed at the Horwich Music Festival on July 7th 2019 and added to YouTube with permission of the Pennine Ensemble. Many many thanks.Very sadly, in June 2020, the pianist, Robert Aston, passed away from cancer. Without his wonderful support and encouragement this work never would have had even one performance let alone FOUR! Therefore, I have now fully dedicated this piece to Robert as the least I could do to thank him for all the wonderful music he gave so freely to Bolton, UK, over his lifetime. Thank you, Robert. You were FAB!!!

Harp - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797370 Arranged by Becky Baxter. Celtic,Classical,Folk. Score. 16 pages. Afghan Press Music for the Harp #4830455. Published by Afghan Press Music for the Harp (A0.797370). Modern interpretations of early music. Although originally intended to be performed as duets, the pieces can also work nicely as solos by playing the harp 1 part and omitting Harp 2. The Highlander's Farewell to Ireland is a wire harp solo. Designations gut or nylon harp and Celtic harp are interchangeable; the gut or nylon distinction is made in pieces that call for wire-strung harp as Harp II in order to clarify the need for the two distinct sound colors. Harmonics are played where written. Fingerings are generally omitted except for damping suggestions in The Highlander's Farewell. This book contains only the score, with harp 1 and harp 2 on the same page. Page turns have been adjusted so they are as easy as possible.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1152172 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Wesley Besancon. 20th Century,March. Score and Parts. 62 pages. Wesley Besancon #752386. Published by Wesley Besancon (A0.1152172). Throughout Sousa’s career as a conductor, he often altered the performance of his marches without marking or changing the printed music. These alterations were designed for concert performances and included varying dynamics and omitting certain instruments on repeated strains to expand the range of the musical textures, as well as adding unscripted percussion accents for dramatic emphasis at key points in the music. Although Sousa never documented his performance techniques himself, several players who worked extensively with Sousa provided directions for his frequently performed marches, most notably cornetist Frank Simon. Sousa continued to conduct many of his earlier marches later in his career with these unique alterations, but he rarely returned to several of the marches composed between 1873 and 1880. Although no written confirmation exists for how Sousa might have performed these earliest compositions, select elements of his typical performance practices can also be applied to these marches. “Our Flirtation†is the earliest march for which Simon documented Sousa’s common adjustments in performance. The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa appears in chronological order and is based on some of the earliest known sources for each composition. These newly edited full scores correct many mistakes and inconsistencies found in the parts of early publications; however, all remaining markings and the original scoring are preserved. Additionally, the alterations traditionally employed by the United States Marine Band in performance are incorporated throughout; either those specifically documented by Sousa’s musicians or changes modeled on the customary practices of “The March King.†Performance practices that deviate from the original printed indications are described below and appear in [brackets] in the score. In many instances these indications appear side-by-side with the original markings. An open diamond marked with an accent in the cymbal part indicates that the cymbal player should let that accent ring for an additional beat before rejoining the bass drum part. Second strain (m. 21-38): The dynamic should drop to piano first time through with piccolo, E-flat clarinet, cornets/trumpets, and trombones tacet first time. Additionally, all clarinets should play down one octave as indicated by the cued notes. All instruments rejoin fortissimo and at the original octave in the first ending. A percussion accent may be added in m. 29 the second time. The printed percussion figure in the first ending continues the previous pattern, yet muddies the pick-ups to the second strain and may be omitted for just that one bar as indicated after the downbeat. Trio (m. 39-54): Piccolo and cornets/trumpets are tacet once more as well as cymbals, but trombones have an interesting part in the texture and may continue to play softly here. All instruments rejoin for the fortissimo pick up notes in m. 54. Interlude/Break-up strain (m. 55-70): A percussion accent may be added on beat two in m. 62 and 70, both times, to match the accented chords in the rest of the band. Final strain (m. 71-end): The first time through this strain is piano once more and piccolo, cornets/trumpets, trombones, and cymbals are tacet again. First and second B-flat clarinets should also play one octave lower as indicated by the cued notes. All instruments rejoin in the first ending for the repeat of the break-up strain and play fortissimo to the end.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797741 Composed by Josef Ivanovici. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 21 pages. Derek Hasted #4363453. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797741). THE DANUBE WAVES - for THREE GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This isn’t just one little Waltz - the original work was, in fact, 4 Waltzes played end to end. The first one is perhaps the most famous, but the others are charming too. Here we have all four plus an introduction too.My guitar trio arrangement is based on a facsimile of an original piano reduction with extra countermelodies to thicken the texture. This composition has been arranged by many people to be played on piano or by full orchestra, and quite often one or more of the waltzes is omitted, or they are played in a different order or a different number of times. It’s fair to say there are probably a dozen variants! More than that, each arranger seems to take it upon themselves to write an introduction. In keeping with that tradition, I have penned an introduction too... it’s a mysterious, slightly slow, statement of the first theme, which, as the first Waltz starts, comes alive at tempo. In this particular arrangement, I’ve made sure everyone has the tune at some point - with about five minutes of music here, it’s not right that some parts are in the limelight and others aren’t - music is for sharing! At phrase boundaries, the roles of tune, countermelody and accompaniment all move round. In concert, one might consider omitting one of the Waltzes if time is at a premium.

Snowball.Text:Hollow grief and vibrations of loss leave me isolated, uniquelyAlone.Shouting silence echoes against every promised dream.Emptiness sobs wildly, yet no one perceives my searing, stingingPain. My pierced and bruised heart halts; no hands reach out, andI weep.He trammels from side to side with weight of words and wood,Alone.Shouldering all burdens bears gut groans and crimson blood . . .Void to those who are blind to His solitary, sacrificing, wrenchingPain. His severed heart stretches to reach those with shielded eyes, andHe weeps. With shackled sight silently loosed, I see woeful mourning is neverAlone.Yoked by clear cleansing, and trusting each atoning breath,I grasp His robe with welcoming arms—His, which can subdue everyPain. My humbled heart cries out to Him with joy, and clinging gratefully,We weep.

Bassoon & piano - Digital Download SKU: IZ.PDP106 Composed by Nicolas Nabokov. Score and Parts. 35 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #PDP106. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.PDP106). 9 x 12 in inches.Nabokov composed the Sonata for Bassoon and Piano is in two movements. The first of these bears the subtitle A Litany for Bassoon and Piano and contains elements of bitonality within a modified sonata form. A brief cadenza after the recapitulation leads to a closing section reminiscent of a modal folksong. The second movement begins with a march-like character, but changes tempo and style several times before the dramatic conclusion. Bruce Gbur, bassoon, and Slawomir Dobrzanski, piano, presented the first performance of the Nabokov Sonata for Bassoon and Piano on a recital at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, on 27 February 2007. That performance was made possible through the kind permission of Mme. Dominique Nabokov, New York Ci_ty, and Richard Workman of the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas, Austin. I would also like to thank Mme. Nabokov and Mr. Workman for granting permission for the publication of this work. I am indebted to my friend Slawomir Dobrzanski for adding his fingerings to the piano score for this publication. I believe that the Nabokov Sonata for Bassoon and Piano will prove to be a significant addition to the bassoonists' twentieth-century recital repertoire.

Small Ensemble Bass Clef Instrument,Bass Trombone,Tenor Trombone,Trombone/Baritone B.C.,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.961209 Composed by Ernie Burnett. Arranged by Robert Coil. 20th Century,Folk,Holiday,Jazz. Score and parts. 14 pages. Polished Brass #6423805. Published by Polished Brass (A0.961209). In this arrangement for trombone quintet, the melody is predominantly in the first and 2nd parts, with the range on the first part up to b1 above the staff and the second trombone goes to a1 above the staff. This song is often performed without the verse, which precedes the chorus, but is included in this arrangement, set apart with a lighter texture and slower tempo. The stretching of pulse in the first measure can be omitted if the cohesiveness of the ensemble dictates. The familiar chorus should have a comfortable swing feel. The lyrics, by George Norton, Come to me my melancholy baby, Cuddle up and don't be blue, have probably been whispered between partners countless times. This infectious little tune has been recorded in a variety of tempos and styles, from sultry ballad to up tempo swing, by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Charlie Parker. The combination of lyrics and melody have made this a timeless hit. The arranger, Bob Coil, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, where he studied bass trombone with Betty Glover. Dr. Coil is the leader of the Bones of Cincinnatus trombone ensemble in Cincinnati, OH.

Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1508482 Composed by Bruce Channel and Margaret Cobb. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Country,Film/TV,Pop,R & B. 43 pages. John Ivor Holland #1083732. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1508482). Hey! Baby! is a song written by Margaret Cobb and Bruce Channel, being first recorded by Channel in 1961. It reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks in March 1962. The song features a prominent riff from well-known harmonica player Delbert McClinton; while touring the UK in 1962 with the Beatles, McClinton gave John Lennon some harmonica tips; Lennon put the lessons to use right away on Love Me Do and later Please Please Me. Lennon included Hey! Baby in his jukebox and a version of the song was recorded by Ringo Starr in 1976. Hey! Baby! was used in the 1987 hit film 'Dirty Dancing' in the scene in which Johnny and Baby dance on top of a log; a dance remix in early 2000 by Austrian artist DJ Ötzi brought it back to prominence again, reaching number 1 in the UK, Irish and Australian charts. This arrangement for concert band has a harmonica part to tie-in with the original, but is beefed up with elements used from a marching band chart by Tom Wallace.
