Piano,Tenor Saxophone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522193 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score and part. 28 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3133717. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522193). My Saxophone and Me consists of fourteen short and delightful pieces written especially for absolute beginners up to students at elementary level. The book comes in two versions, one for B flat saxophones and the other for E flat instruments. However, for obvious reasons you cannot mix B flat and E flat instruments in the same group.   The pieces are intended as supplementary material to your usual tutor books. The music can be used with any number of players and the pieces remain in the lower register. Several early pieces use only the notes B, A and G and the key of G major predominates. Six of the pieces use only half notes (minims) and quarter notes (crotchets). The low C, a tricky note for some beginners, has been avoided almost completely. On the one occasion it appears, the note C an octave above is given as optional. Although the pieces are arranged in approximate order of difficulty you can play them in any order you want, depending on the musical needs of the student. Your students are sure to enjoy these pieces, which are both easy on the fingers and easy on the ear! Several pieces have a few measures (bars) rest in the middle not only to give the player a break and add musical contrast but also to give the experience of counting empty bars during the music. When space allows, piano cues appear in the solo part. Some of the later pieces in the book have good performing potential and could be strung together in any order to create a small suite. Every piece has a short piano introduction so that the student can sense the tempo and musical style before playing. The keyboard accompaniments have been kept as simple as possible with the minimum number of notes. Dynamic markings (e.g. piano and mezzo-forte) are used from the start, but phrasing has been omitted from the solo part. This is because the teacher is usually in the best position to suggest phrasing within the physical capabilities of each student. Slurs have been employed sparingly and only when necessary. An MP3 file of all the piano accompaniments is also available as a separate item. You can find it here: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/20679835 The book includes a well-known folk lullaby from Wales and a lively folk song from Thailand which is known by all Thai people because it’s taught in elementary schools throughout the country. The music has been converted into pdf files at 1,200 dpi which will produce professional looking printed copies of high quality. However, the output quality will also depend on your own printer settings and capabilities. The publication consists of a teacher's book (18 pages) and a student's book (8 pages) both contained in the same pdf file. The sample MP3 (click on the “Listen†button above) contains recordings of Starting Tune (No 1); Island Song (No 3); Waltzing Around (No 7); Just a Minuet (No 11) and Donkey Trot (No 12). Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.693015 Composed by Ben Dockery. Concert,Contemporary,Graduation,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Ben Dockery #3408953. Published by Ben Dockery (A0.693015). This intermediate level piece for piano (2 min, 45 sec) is the third meditation in a volume of twelve. Its recurring melodic and rhythmic motif unifies the composition through contrasting moments of light and darkness. Throughout the harmonic progression, there is an emphasis on the subdominant--always a relaxation of tonality. And it is this plagal sound that is heard last, suggesting a resting place, a moment's peace on an unfinished journey. The performer should be aware of the left-hand's missing eighth-note rest on the down-beat of nearly every measure. It was omitted to avoid a graphic collision. Therefore, the higher octaves are all played on the ands of each beat. Also, notice that in measures 13-14 and other similar places the right-hand plays higher voiced notes in the bass clef. Be careful not to over-emphasize the left-hand ostinato figure, especially the notes played with the thumb. They should be the softest sounds throughought.  Learn more here:   http://www.bendockery.com/my-blogOr subscribe to my email list for updates and free music: https://gumroad.com/bendockery .

Small Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Saxophone,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.938331 Composed by Dr Anthony Costandius. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 72 pages. Anthony Costandius Music #14899. Published by Anthony Costandius Music (A0.938331). A piece for solo Alto Saxophone and String Orchestra. The church was made a cathedral in 1564 when the city was granted its bishopric. The cathedral was built on the site of the Aljama Mosque in the first third of the 14th century. The name of this structure, El Salvador Cathedral, literally means the Cathedral of the Transfiguration. The cathedral has three portals: the Puerta de las Cardenas (Portal of the Chains, 14th century) is in Islamic style, the Puerta de Loreto (mid-15th century) is Gothic, and Puerta de la Anunciación (Portal of the Annunciation, built in 1588 by Juan Inglés), which has a Renaissance-style triumphal arch-shape. Part 1: Introitis. The saxophone mimics a chant based on the metre of the Introitis: Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant iustum: aperiatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem (Bedew us, heavens, from above; ye clouds, rain down the Just One. Let the earth be opened up, and produce the Saviour. The intervals 1 (tonic), 5 (dominant), 6 (super-dominant) and 4 (subdominant), based on the year 1564 referred to in the section above, are used as the basis for the harmony progression for the string section. Part 2: Puerta de las Cardenas Acts 12:3–19 says that Peter was put into prison by King Herod, but the night before his trial an angel appeared to him, and told him to leave. Peter's chains fell off, and he followed the angel out of prison, thinking it was a vision (verse 9). The prison doors opened of their own accord, and the angel led Peter into the city. The visit from the angel, release from the chains and the prison, as well as the journey into the city is expressed against the background of the Islamic design of the portal, hence the referral to Arabian rhythms and scales in the music. Part 3: Puerta de Loreto The Puerta de Loreto is of gothic design. Loreto refers to the Italian city of Loreto in the province of Ancona. It is said that the holy house where the Mother Mary lived in Nazareth was translated miraculously to Loreto on December 19, 1294 - more than 700 years ago. The house did not go straight to Loreto, but in the year 1291 it was miraculously transported from Nazareth to the town of Tersatto in Dalmatia (Croatia). The local population, filled with astonishment, did not know how to explain its sudden appearance. Their Bishop, who was gravely ill, now appeared in their midst cured. He had prayed to the Virgin Mary that he might be strong enough to see the prodigy for himself, and the Mother of God appeared to him, surrounded by Angels, saying: My son, you have called for me, and here I am. I came to give you succor and to reveal to you the mystery [of the translation of the Holy House] you desire to know. The holy dwelling is the very house where I was born and raised. It was there that I received the good news brought by the Archangel Gabriel and I conceived the Divine Infant by the operation of the Holy Ghost. It was there that the Word was made flesh... For you to bear witness to all that I am telling you now, you will suddenly be cured and return to full health after the long illness you have borne, so that through you all will believe in this miracle. Part 4: Puerta de la Anunciación The Annunciation is the Christian celebration of the announcement by the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and become the mother of Jesus, the Son of God, marking his Incarnation. Gabriel told Mary to name her son Jesus, meaning Saviour. Part 5: Exit The work ends with a re-interpretation of the first section, the Introitis. This is to bind the work together, but also to again reflect on the text, as stated: Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant iustum: a periatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem, and to comtemplate how that gives meaning to the being, essence and history of the Catedral de Orihuela.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1308086 By Jay Jordan. By Jay Jordan. Arranged by Jay Jordan. Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Praise & Worship,Traditional. 13 pages. Pro Creations Music #897359. Published by Pro Creations Music (A0.1308086). In early summer 2014 I attended the funeral of Marc Baires, a former student.  Always a sad affair, his passing was unusual for me in that it marked the first time I had “witnessed†the illness and eventual passing of a former student via social media.  Though heavily involved in music in high school Mark had chosen science as his career path and was a successful scientist at a prominent, local biotech firm.  Mark approached his cancer diagnosis with a matter-of-fact, analytical attitude and posted frequent updates about his condition, culminating with a posthumous message from his loved ones.   The prayer card handed out at Marc’s funeral featured the Afterglow poem by Helen Lowry Marshall (1904 - 1975).  It moved me greatly, as the message of love and comfort for those left behind was totally consistent with Marc’s generous spirit, something that was confirmed in the eulogies of his colleagues.  I decided that I would attempt to set the poem in a treatment that, hopefully, conveyed the intent of Afterglow, and that honored a man who had brought smiles to many with his somewhat goofy personality and his many unselfish deeds.Musical noteConductors should try to honor the metronomic markings to create the feeling steady forward motion.  The leaps in the main theme should be sung as delicately as possible.
