Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.895221 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Fernando Ramos. Christmas,Pop,Traditional. Score. 3 pages. Fernando Ramos #6134249. Published by Fernando Ramos (A0.895221). Hear it on YouTube:https://youtu.be/5t8X77Spo-kI make piano solo arrangements for my students of songs that they love! My goal is to create something that sounds beautiful as a standalone piece of music, but most importantly, that it actually makes pianistic sense. Sometimes I even hide exercises in the arrangements that I want a student to work on. All of my arrangements are usually made for a specific student, so the results will always vary. This arrangement was made for an early intermediate student in level 3 of the Alfred's Masterwork Classics series. She is working on another piece where the RH crosses over quite a bit, so I decided to create a good practice etude-ish version of What Child is This, since we are also preparing for a Christmas Recital. The reprise of the main melody is identical in the RH and LH, except the RH crosses over the LH the entire time. Overall, the piece has a very mysterious feel that really suits the melody and lovely to hear. Be careful if the tempo is slowed down too much because the dissonances might stick out more than preferred, so the LH will have to be played at pp in order to not distract from the pretty melody.I give fingering and pedal suggestions.

Oboe,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549426 Composed by Antonín Dvořák. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3494023. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549426). Score: 7 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Duration: 4:25  Not difficult, but requires sensitivity & dynamic control. Suitable for recitals, church meditations, or school programs. Dvořák Background Antonín Dvořák (1841 –1904) was, of course, a composer from Czechoslovakia. As a matter of fact, he was among the first Bohemian composers to attain universal recognition. It is important to realize that the late Romantic Nationalist period featured composers who used traditional and folk elements to portray the character of their nation. In particular, we see this in the music of Grieg (Norway), Finland (Sibelius), and Smetana (Bohemia).  Dvořák relied markedly on rhythms and other characteristics of Moravian and Bohemian folk music. Ascent to Fame Dvořák was truly a child musical prodigy on the violin. The premiere performances of his compositions notably occurred in 1872 and 1873. He submitted his First Symphony in particular to a German competition, but it failed to win. Consequently, in 1874 he presented two more symphonies to the Austrian State Prize for Composition. Johannes Brahms was the principal of the jury and was accordingly very impressed. They forthwith awarded the prize to Dvořák in 1874, 1876, and 1877. At this point, Brahms thereupon endorsed Dvořák to the publisher Simrock. Later, the publisher commissioned Dvořák to compose the Slavonic Dances, Op. 46. These became popular overnight and, as a result, Dvořák's worldwide status was launched. International Status Dvořák visited England upon invitation all nine times. On each visit, he frequently conducted performances of his own compositions. He conducted concerts of his music, especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Eventually, the Prague Conservatory in fact appointed Dvořák as a professor. There, to be sure, he wrote his famous Dumky Trio. United States Consequently, the National Conservatory of Music of America appointed him as director in 1892. As a result, Dvořák composed his two most famous symphonic works: the Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), which spread his name universally, and his Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, one of the most famous of all cello works. Moreover, he wrote his most celebrated American String Quartet during this time. At the same time, because of his growing recognition in Europe and his homesickness for his own country, he left to return to Bohemia in 1895.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1218720 Composed by Carrie Jacobs-Bond. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Classical,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score. 4 pages. Phil Beaman #815157. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1218720). Life's Garden is an arrangement of the 1914 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond.  I take this original melody and lyrics and put them to an entirely new setting of music.  The piece grows, starting with a single note unaccompanied melody and each line adds more depth and texture as the piece continues to build to the end with a dramatic key change on the last phrase.  The poetic Garden of Life is where all of the desirable characteristics of an ideal person (and love) grows; like sympathy, devotion, etc.  This is a timeless art song that is perfect for any wedding today, whether vintage or modern.     4 page score; 1:40 minutesI have published it in 3 different vocal ranges on this site:  High - low E to high G#; Medium - low Bb to high D; Low - low G to high B.   The MP3 recording is of the Medium Voice version.  Vocal part is Intermediate level, while Piano part is Advanced Intermediate level.  This piece is also found in my book, Vintage Wedding Songs, a collection of 5 songs which is also available on this site.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1450052 Composed by Nancy DeVries. Arranged by Nancy DeVries. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. Nancy DeVries #1029742. Published by Nancy DeVries (A0.1450052). Panis Angelicus for Piano/Organ is based on a beloved hymn by Fr. Louis Lambillotte (1796-1855), who also wrote Come Holy Ghost and On This Day, O Beautiful Mother. This hymn, Bread of Angels, appears in older Catholic hymn books, and has been a favorite for many years. This work is a musical reflection on the beauty of the hymn and the profound meaning of its words. It is especially suitable for Corpus Christi, but also would be appreciated at any Sunday throughout the Church year. Intermediate/Advanced Intermediate level.

Oboe,Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.1046400 By Keith Terrett. By Giacomo Puccini. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and part. 6 pages. Keith Terrett #650917. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1046400). An arrangement of one of Puccini’s greatest arias for Oboe & Piano. Great piece to improve trumpeter’s player’s bell canto style of playing. Take a listen to Conrad Gozzo’s playing on the Tutti Trumpet CD for a fine example! Quando me'n vo', also known as Musetta's Waltz, is a soprano aria, a waltz in act two of Puccini's 1896 opera La bohème. It is sung by Musetta, in the presence of her bohemian friends, hoping to reclaim the attention of her occasional boyfriend Marcello. This scene takes place at the Café Momus [fr]. Shortly after Mimì, Rodolfo, and their friends have taken seats for a drink, Marcello's former girlfriend, Musetta, shows up with her current patron, the elderly Alcindoro. They quarrel for a bit, then the episode begins as Musetta initiates her move on Marcello. She grabs the spotlight, musically speaking, for a short self-promoting aria (Quando me'n vo'). It is a song directed at the people in the café as much as at the audience in the theater. Popular renditions of the melody were produced during the 1950s, including an American Top 40 hit by Sammy Kaye (You) and a version by Della Reese (Don't You Know?), which reached number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. You will find more Italian arias and Neapolitan songs in my Sibelius & ArrangeMe stores.
