Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.931217 Composed by Michael Praetorius. Arranged by Alessandro Macrì. Film/TV,Renaissance,Standards. 69 pages. Music Macri Editions #5317471. Published by Music Macri Editions (A0.931217). Written for Sardigna Brass Festival Three Dances from Terpsichore (Introduzione - Spagnola - Bransle simple de Novelle) The Terpsichore is a compendium of more than 300 instrumental dances published in 1612 by the German composer Michael Praetorius. The collection takes its name from the muse of dance. In his introduction Praetorius takes credit for arranging the music rather than composing the tunes. The collection is based on French dance repertoire of the time, although some of the tunes have been identified as coming from elsewhere in Europe, for example England and Spain. The publication was rediscovered in the twentieth century by the early music movement. Recordings include a selection performed by the Early Music Consort (which was released in 1973),and others from the New London Consort etc.

Trombone Duet Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792280 Composed by Bach, J. S. Arranged by Sauer, Ralph. Baroque,Classical,Renaissance. Score. 36 pages. Gordon Cherry #4803805. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792280). The Four Duets, BWV 802-805 are part of a larger collection, the Clavier-übung III sometimes called the German Organ Mass. They were first published in 1739, mostly likely intended to be performed on the organ, as they have a range from C2 to C6; playable on almost any organ from that era. However, they could have been performed on any keyboard of the time. Musically they are more complex than the Two Part Inventions, and their purpose was most likely to take two-part counterpoint to the max. • Fugue 1 is a double fugue in E minor • Fugue 2 is a fugue in F major written as a da capo aria (ABA) • Fugue 3 in G major is light and dance-like • Fugue 4 in A minor is a fugue in strict counterpoint Ralph Sauer has once again done an extraordinary job of finding great music for our instrument and transcribing it in the most beautiful way possible. Appropriate for advanced performers. Each player has their own part as well as a study score. The 2nd part may be performed on a tenor with f-attachment or a bass trombone.

David McKeown #5743987. Published by David McKeown (A0.588402). Merengue de Merlín is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Soprano and one Alto Saxophone. This duet is based on the traditional Latin style of Merengue that emerged in the Dominican Republic during the Nineteenth Century. Merengue Tipico bands maintain the traditional instrumentation of the double-headed tambora drum, güira, accordion and vocal, while urban bands in the North American diaspora often add saxophone, bass and other percussion. The Merengue dance became hugely popular in the 1950s and new forms continue to draw audiences around the world. If you play to an intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The steady quintilla tambora rhythm is present throughout, and following the precise articulation in the score will help convey the style. The main challenge is the fast tempo and melodies should be clearly articulated. Merengue de Merlín has a performance time of around two and a half minutes at full tempo. Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Instrumental Duet,Soprano Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.734332 Composed by Georges Bizet. Arranged by Dennis Ruello. Christmas,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Romantic Period,Sacred. Score and parts. 2 pages. Chicory Music #2926727. Published by Chicory Music (A0.734332). March of the Three Kings for Mixed (Soprano & Alto) Saxophone Duet at the Intermediate level. The Crusades, those religious expeditions to rescue the holy places in Palestine from the Muslims, created an enormous interest in both faith and fighting in the Middle Ages. French peasants from Provence in the 13th century, when the tune for this March of the Kings was being sung and danced to, must have endowed the Three Kings of the Christmas story with all the virtues and appearance of their own folk heroes nearer at hand. These were the French dukes, clad in gleaming armor, carrying brilliant banners and bejeweled shields, who fought for the Pope far more willingly than they would have for the lives of their own serfs. Hence the martial references in this text, sung to a tune that is perhaps even older than the verses. Georges Bizet, composer of the opera Carmen, used the same tune as a farandole, or stately dance, in his incidental music for Alphonse Daudet’s play L’Arlesienne (The Woman from Aries). The March of the Three Kings has been arranged in the sax friendly key of g minor at the intermediate level. Performance time: approx. 2 minutes.

Published by David McKeown (A0.589027). Joropo de Justina is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for two Trombones. This duet is based on the traditional Latin style of Joropo which is the national and traditional music of Venezuela. The music and its accompanying dance comes from the central plains area and is also found over the border in parts of Colombia. The basic pulse of the Joropo is 3, but this is overlaid with complex cross-rhythms. The main instrument is the harp, along with cuatro and maracas as the only percussion instrument. In the modern era other instruments may join the ensemble, especially bass. This arrangement represents the song style of Joropo, with the vocal alternating with instrumental breaks. If you play to an advanced intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. The many cross rhythms will provide a rhythmic challenge and there is little time to catch breath; following the articulation in the score will help convey the style. Joropo de Justina has a performance time of around two minutes at full tempo.
