Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1133721 By Various. By Anonymous, Claude Gervaise, Claudin de Sermisy, Erasmus Widmann, Giorgio Mainerio, Henry VIII, Juan Del Encina, Michael Praetorius, Pierre Attaignant, Pierre Phalese, Thoinot Arbeau, Tielman Susato, and William Cornysh. Arranged by Alastair Lodge. Early Music,Folk,Historic,Medieval,Renaissance. 50 pages. Wold Meridian #733832. Published by Wold Meridian (A0.1133721). This is a companion to my earlier volume Chording to the Dance Masters which presented 44 of my favourite Renaissance Dance band tunes and arranged them as a single melody line with chords derived from the original harmony lines. In this volume I have reunited 22 of the pieces with the lower parts in the score, so that with more collaborators, the fullness of the original arrangement can be heard. The chords are still present, so if the ensemble is short handed, and lines are missing, the arrangements will still work. What is more, by contrasting the melody and chords with the full scoring, it should be possible to work some light and shade into performances.  You can hear all the pieces and their chords on YouTube together with contemporary art and historical background material:https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYRWH2nycMkMoIoEYEMVPa_EXY6NVDpNSAs a help to those less confident in playing harmony lines, I have provided links to playlists of videos online for each part of each piece. You will hear the selected line on its own with chords and percussion, with the melody line added on repeats. The final repeat includes the other harmony lines, but the featured line is slightly louder in the mix. The performance starts with a percussion beat introduction to set the tempo.Who were the Publishers and the Dance Masters? What did they do? Sometime around the 1500s, the popularity of dance music exploded in Europe. Dance Masters were collecting chansons and dance tunes from courts and rural parts and were teaching these to new audiences, spreading their arrangements and reflecting the performance styles of the areas from which they had collected the tunes. Publishers were able to take these tunes that were becoming known across the regions and nations and spread them even more widely, thanks to technological innovations in music printing which made it quicker and therefore cheaper to produce collections of these dances in four or more parts. These publishers were often highly accomplished composers in their own right, who were both able to provide distinctive harmony lines and compose new tunes in the style of their sources, feeding the courts with enduring tunes. Composers and printers of this time would often use note values that are double the length of those we would be used to seeing today, and so to make this version more readable, breves have become semibreves or whole notes, semibreves have become minims or half notes and so on. Working with this publication For those just starting out in Early Music, the volume is an ideal introduction, since the ensemble can build from a soloist with accompaniment with the chords alone, and parts can be added in as additional musicians become available. Instrumentation for these pieces was not specified in the original prints. The range of each part is quite limited, and though the harmonies may seem strange at times, key signatures are kind to the less experienced musician. If enthusiasm takes hold, then reproductions of early music instruments are sold by some very talented makers, as well as coming up on auction sites. Otherwise, it is possible to put together a fairly convincing ensemble with recorders, violins, a cello and mandolins, bouzoukis, flutes or guitars and gradually introduce the authentic instruments as they become available.

Published by Moni Bergo (A0.1012747). Music and song composed by meVampire's dance I live between two worlds Between trash and slums This is a dream or reality ? The lie or the truth?  While I wait for sunsets I look at the sun and horizons And breathe freedom and my immortality  Desire for the infinite, Who has not ever tried ? That need to know that the stronger we are Invincible and powerful without the burden of age Over the centuries and the millennia Always gorgeous 20 years old  And then dance To the rhythm of the Vampire Do you feel my breath Let us give this eternal night  And then dance The senses amplified sharp teeth let's see who can stop us  around the fire like wolves, red eyes, a bit 'fierce,  we move in packs, invisible and fast , we are thieves thoughts ,so forgotten who you were  or roots or ties ,no land limits  And then dance To the rhythm of the Vampire Do you feel my breath Let us give this eternal night  And then dance The senses amplified sharp teeth let's see who can stop us  The mania destroys Hunger afflicts us But it will not be the food that will satisfy Torments and regrets, sad feelings, Nightime falling erase them We are shadows at night ,The heart that no beats We languid slaves the Voodoo rituals The pale faces, The ambiguous smiles Put the cross, you will not need  Strange characters So wild and free ,But  in this society ,Nothing scarier ago  I donate my blood every day  to The state or the government the Vampires are we ,There are monsters and vultures Those imprisoned vampires, In the faded pages  Elegant, charming, So beautiful and in high places and in they I recognize that mania that is also mine My hunger to know ,With food can not be satisfied  And then dance ,And crossing that border Now there is an end to what I can imagine And then dance, I sad renegade I lost soul, Who do not know who to give my heart  And then dance ,If you are not anyone ,If you lost in the journey You can not find a post to be filled      Look in the mirror  You can see my reflection? This is a dream or reality? The lie or the truth?                                                                  Monica Bergo

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488110 Composed by Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #1064990. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1488110). Shall We Dance? is a show tune from the 1951 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, The King and I. It is sung by the characters of Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam, originated on Broadway by Gertrude Lawrence and Yul Brynner respectively. This version was developed from a lead sheet and was simplified so that someone with average ability can play it and sound good doing so. We added root-based chord blocking and a few left-hand fills for rhythm - we hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!

Percussion Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.493119 Composed by Anderson Matos. Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Holiday,Latin,Multicultural,World. Score. 10 pages. Anderson M. Matos #108244. Published by Anderson M. Matos (A0.493119). The musical and choreographic style known as mambo was born in Cuba, the result of a fusion of various musical sounds. It was strongly influenced by Afro-Cuban cadences from the typical religious ceremonies of Congo. The term with which he was baptized comes from a common slang among black musicians – “are you mambo?â€, in other words, “are you all right?â€. These artists performed a rhythm known as El Son in Cuban musical groups. The modern mambo, on the other hand, was created in 1939, with Orestes López and Cachao López, who produced a danzón - a genre derived from the Creole dance, whose source is the Spanish contradanza and the French contredanse, from which various Latin American ballroom dances originate – which they named Mambo, using sounds from African culture.

Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.881254 Composed by Gary Powell Nash. Contemporary. Score and parts. 175 pages. Gary Powell Nash #4727399. Published by Gary Powell Nash (A0.881254). During the 2006-2007 academic year, Nash was fortunate to travel to Ghana, Spain and Vietnam. These experiences were quite profound and resulted in Nash composing new works that reflect those experiences. KORA’S SONG AND DANCE (2009) for symphonic wind ensemble is his first large ensemble composition written under this premise. Kora is a 21 stringed musical instrument from West Africa and KORA'S SONG AND DANCE is largely based on the tune Diabate’ by singer/songwriter Vieux Farke’ Toure’ of Mali. Diabate’ is also the name of well known kora musician, Toumani Diabate’ in which Toure’ dedicated the song to. KORA’S SONG AND DANCE uses melodies that are derived from the drone motif in Toure’s Diabate. Diabate’ is a medium tempo song with the drone motif occurring throughout and improvised melodies on top of the drone. KORA’S SONG AND DANCE begins with a slow introduction, featuring the alto sax and marimba. The rest of the ensemble gradually enters and builds to the end of the intro, transitioning to the next section by way of metric modulation. The next section builds with layers of instrumental textures, much like the intro and concludes with an English horn and piano duet. This particular pattern of musical events repeats, transitioning back to slow music, reminiscent of the intro and then ends big by going back to the faster tempo.

Violin Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.992461 Composed by Eric Watson. 20th Century,Contemporary. 6 pages. Eric Watson #3505615. Published by Eric Watson (A0.992461). The title Toccata comes from the Italian word toccare meaning to touch and generally implies a composition that has many fast notes featuring technical and virtuosic playing requiring great finger facility. The subtitle though is Eccentric Dance and as I wrote it I had in mind the Tarantella dance originating from the province of Taranto, Italy. This dance has two aspects, a stately court dance, which you can hear in the middle section of the work and a more frenetic, agitated movement which is heard in the first and final section. This supposedly originates from the jerky, hysterical and spasmodic body actions of a victim bitten by the wolf or tarantula spider common to that region of Italy. The ‘whirling, delirium’ tarantella dance is most often written in 6/8 and is played faster and faster and ends only when one of the dancers gives up in exhaustion! Toccata was written as a test pice for the Singapore National Piano and Violin Competition, 2017, and is 5.00 minutes in length.
