Brass Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.940769 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by Nick Walkley. Children,Contemporary,Patriotic,Standards,World. Score and parts. 45 pages. Nick Walkley #3422303. Published by Nick Walkley (A0.940769). Based on Grieg's famous orchestral movement from 'Peer Gynt Suite no.1', this arrangement is a contemporary twist on an old classic and designed to appeal to young audiences and musicians. It was originally written for Sæbø Skulemusikklag, Norway, for World Brass Day 2017. The performance was recorded as representation of Norwegian culture and uploaded to Youtube in a shared playlist alongside others from around the globe*. The arrangement begins in a similar creepy manner to the original, tip-toeing in and gradually building up to a frightening frenzy. Something of a surprise is in store for the audience after a familiar opening however; a dubstep/drum n bass twist drops in before the melody rejoins in a new fashion, leading on to solo moments for drum kit and timpani. Elements of the original orchestration are again infused into the repeated refrain to intensify the music towards a dramatic final close.Note to conductors:Difficult solo tuba parts are a feature, but a simplified version is also supplied for less advanced players. The soprano cornet, 2nd horn and 2nd baritone parts are supplementary and can be omitted without problem. Beginner level (aspirant) parts are provided, written in B and E flat as 'Trolls' so that newer band members can join in. *this arrangement has been edited since that performance for publication.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.814521 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6612851. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.814521). Brass Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Russian Dance (Trepak), from Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's extremely popular, The Nutcracker Suite, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but would be most appropriate during the Holiday season. This selection has been arranged to keep all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet with a score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960's and is performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Some critics have called it astonishingly rich in detailed inspiration and from beginning to end, beautiful, melodious, original and characteristic. The ballet's first complete performance outside Russia took place in England in 1934. The first complete United States performance was on December 24, 1944, by the San Francisco Ballet. It was such an enormous success that the San Francisco Ballet has presented The Nutcracker every Christmas Eve and throughout the winter season, debuting new productions in 1944, 1954, 1967 and 2004. In Salt Lake City, it has been performed every year since 1963. The New York City Ballet gave its first annual performance in 1954. In addition to annual live stagings of the work, many productions have also been televised or released on home video. The Nutcracker continues to be one of Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions and contains some of his most memorable works. Tchaikovsky made a selection of eight of the numbers from the ballet before the ballet's December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, and is intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on March 19, 1892. The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance, one of the character dances, based on the traditional Russian and Ukrainian folk dance, Trepak, for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the Russian Dance for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 3 Trumpets, 1 French Horn and 1 Trombone, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the Russian Dance, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the March as well. Scheduling the March followed by the Russian Dance would be a very satisfying addition to any concert or recital. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of the Russian Dance from Tchaikovsky's marvelous holiday.

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1199398 Composed by Giuseppe Verdi. Arranged by André Nusa. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. 11 pages. Andre_Nusa #798466. Published by Andre_Nusa (A0.1199398). Addio del passato is a deeply moving and melancholic aria from the opera La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi. Although originally composed for soprano voice and orchestra, the piece can be arranged for a variety of instrumental combinations, including a classical guitar and violin duo like this. The arrangement highlights the beauty of the original aria, while also showcasing the unique qualities of the violin and classical guitar. The violin plays the melody and the guitar plays the accompaniment with some occasional solo parts. The classical guitar and violin arrangement of Addio del passato is a touching interpretation of Verdi's timeless aria. The interplay between the two instruments creates a nuanced and expressive performance that highlights the emotional depth and beauty of the original piece.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.746511 Composed by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Patriotic,World. 32 pages. Keith Terrett #1989071. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746511). A slow march I entitled The Royal Hussar, is an original ceremonial slow march of mine, suitable for indoor or outdoor performance. Slow March: This is a ceremonial pace, used for funeral marches and when a unit’s colours are marched out in front of the troops. The feet are kept parallel to the ground and the arms are never used. In the United States Marine Corps, arms swing as the distance they normally would in quicktime, but at the same pace as marching. U.S. Marine Color Guards do not swing their arms. Slow March is typically used in the Marine Corps for funeral details and ceremonies such as the Marine Corps Ball (when the cake is escorted out). In Spain, Latin America, and the Philippines this is done during religious processions whenever a military band joins it. This march style is the official parade march in the armed forces of Bolivia and Ecuador and the military academies and schools of Venezuela, done with the goose step during parades and ceremonies. The standard pace is 60 paces per minute. Famous slow marches include:Preobrajensky Regimental Slow March Presented to the Royal Marines by Admiral of the Fleet The Earl Mountbatten of Burma on 10th June 1964 and first performed as the Regimental Slow March of the Royal Marines on Horse Guards Parade that night. The march was composed by the Russian composer Donajowsky for the Russian Tzar’s Preobrajensky Guard. The Royal Hussars Slow March ’Coburg’, a tune composed by Haydn and arranged by Grant-James in the late 19th Century, is without doubt one of the most well-known and famous Slow Marches to be written. ’The Eagle’, which itself is a combination of the 14th and 20th Hussars slow marches is also a very strong march, but not widely known outside 14th/20th King’s Hussars’ circles. The Garb of Old Gaul (sometimes given as Auld Gaul) is an 18th-century patriotic Scottish march and song about Highland soldiers during the Seven Years War. The music was written by General John Reid, who was a senior officer of the 42nd Regiment of Foot (The Black Watch) during the Seven Years War. The words have traditionally been attributed to Sir Harry Erskine (1710 -1765). Robert Burns described it as This excellent loyal Scottish song and states that it first appeared in print in Herd’s Collection of 1769. Alternative titles include The Highland Character and The Highland or 42nd Regiment’s March. The tune was originally a quick march but was later rearranged as a slow march. Other famous slow marches of the British Army include Golden Spurs & Scipio. Put away Scipio, Coburg & Garb of Old gaul, time for a newcomer on the block! Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1428144 By Queen. By Brian May. Arranged by John Langley / Studio Orchestrations. Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Opera,Pop,Rock. 114 pages. Www.studio-orchestrations.com #1008972. Published by www.studio-orchestrations.com (A0.1428144). This arrangement / score is set in E Minor, the original key of the recorded song.  Versions of this same score will be available on this website in both D Minor [Down a Tone / 2 Steps] and also C sharp Minor [Down a minor 3rd / 3 steps] to give your vocal soloist and choir key options.Amid a truly extraordinary and long back catalogue of amazing songs written and performed by QUEEN, Who wants to live forever stands out as one of their greatest and most popular musical achievements.  Written originally for the 1986 Sean Connery/Christopher Lambert film HIGHLANDER it highlighted the incredible range of musical output the band were capable of, being best known for their rock music output.  It became a poignant and wistful anthem for the great Freddie Mercury who died only a matter of 5 years later. It is the most incredible song and in this arrangement combines symphony orchestra, with rock singer, rhythm section and for added value optional SATB chorus, bringing an additional  texture to what is already an epic piece. The Youtube link below (in the lower key of C# Minor) illustrates the power of this version in an incarnation recorded during lockdown in 2020 with the combined forces of the Welsh National Opera orchestra and chorus and Welsh, TV stage and Hollywood actor star Luke Evans.  All individual tracks and performances were recorded in their singers and musicians own homes, then mixed, spliced and compiled into what many have now come to regard as a classic. Both this and the WNO version were arranged by John Langley and pay a respectful tribute to the original version and its composer Brian May. We commend this for any concert of film or popular music with your professional, semi-professional or intermediate orchestra, choir and soloist.  [The choir is optional but the piece is much more epic with one!]INSTRUMENTATION:2 Flutes1 Oboe1 Clarinet1 Bassoon4 Horns2 Trumpets3 TrombonesTimpani2 Percussion [Cymbals / Bass Drum / Snare Drum / Cabasa or small shaker]Piano/KeyboardElectric GuitarBass GuitarDrum KitRock - Tenor SoloistSATB [Optional but desirable!]Strings.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1453916 Composed by Domenico Gallo. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Baroque. 18 pages. RayThompsonMusic #1033104. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1453916). Arranged wind quintet. This music was originally attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi, as they were so described in a Mr R. Bremner's original 1780 London publication. They were also arranged later by Hugo Riemann, and were again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi. They are actually  3 movements from 2 of Domenico Gallo's Trio SonatasThey were used by Igor Stravinsky as a basis of the third movement (Scherzino) of his Neo Classical Ballet Pulcinella. The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts. But even though Stravinsky used Gallo's (Pergolesi's) melodies and bass lines with little change, he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications. My arrangement is of the the original Gallo pieces:The only change I have made is to move the bar lines so that my piece starts, as does Stravinsky's, with a quaver pickup, rather than Gallo's half bar and a quaver pickup. My arrangement uses Gallo's classical/baroque harmonies. It does not sound too dissimilar to Stravinsky's which sadly will be in copyright for many years.Check out my other arrangements of other music used by Stravinsky in his Pulcinella Suite.
