Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Clarinet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1034375 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 9 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #639724. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1034375). This easy arrangement for clarinet trio has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students because of the ease imposed on the piece. It is often performed at wedding ceremonies slowly and reverently, challenging the effect suggested by Bach in his original score for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings, and continuous bass. This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works.

Brass Quintet Baritone Horn TC,Bass Trombone,Cornet,Euphonium,Flugelhorn,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1239585 Composed by Johannes Brahms. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. 19th Century,Classical,Folk,Romantic Period,Traditional. 32 pages. RBMusic #834940. Published by RBMusic (A0.1239585). The Hungarian Dances are some of Brahms’s most famous works. Completed in 1879, they were originally written for piano duet (one piano, four hands) and were very lucrative to him. Brahms published the dances in 4 books.Only 3 of the 21 lively dances are entirely original compositions (numbers 11, 14 and 16). Dance number 5, arranged here, was based on a composition by the Hungarian composer Béla Kéler, specifically the csárdás Bártfai emlék (Memories of Bártfa); it is thought the Brahms mistook this work for a traditional folksong. This arrangement includes alternative parts for tenor horn, treble-clef trombone/euphonium and tuba. Apart from dance number 5, these arrangements are in the original key; number 5 has been lowered by a semitone. A recording for piano duet can be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJS0pHvDX4c.Other searchable terms: Johannes Brahms, 1869, F-sharp minor, F# minor, F minor, Allegro, Vivace, Hungary, Traditional.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.882143 Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Samuel Wellman. Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. Samuel Wellman #6055749. Published by Samuel Wellman (A0.882143). This piece is an exact mirror of Chopin's 'Minute' Waltz. The left hand now plays what the right hand originally had, and vice versa. It's not simply an inversion but the same relationship of black and white keys so that the 'feel' of the left hand duplicates the right hand original. One may inspect Vincent Persichetti's 'Seven Mirror Etudes' to see how this works; in his pieces the LH is a mirror of the RH. But in mine there are two mirrors, so to speak: each hand is a mirror of what the opposite hand has in the Chopin original. The result is somewhat odd, since major triads become minor and tonal relationships are altered.

String Ensemble,String Quintet Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813185 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Christmas,Instructional,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 20 pages. Regis Bookshar #6130607. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813185). Violin Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, And the Glory of the Lord, from George Frideric Handel's world-famous oratorio, Messiah, would be an excellent addition to any music library. Originally written for a four-part chorus accompanied by a small orchestra, this selection has been arranged for 5 Violins, by Regis Bookshar, without losing any of the vitality of the original version. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement will entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come. It is perfect for Christmas concerts and church services, is suitable for high school, college and professional performers and is one of my all-time favorite arrangements. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (20 pages). Handel's original version is written in the key of Concert G, as is this version, but other versions are also available for a variety of instrumental ensembles, both in the key of Concert G and also in the key of Concert F, to make it a little easier for some younger performers. However, this arrangement may still prove to be a challenge for some players. If you are considering having an organist or other keyboard player perform with this selection, I would suggest that you purchase this version in Concert G rather than the one in Concert F. Other selections from Handel's Messiah are also available, as are numerous other arrangements in a variety of styles. I would encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. You may find something else which might interest you as well. I'm certain that students and audiences will definitely enjoy this arrangement.

Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Baroque,Holiday. 6 pages. RayThompsonMusic #3927021. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553756). This music was originally attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi, as they were in a Mr R. Bremner's original 1780 London publication and also arranged by Hugo Riemann, and again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi. It is actually the 1st movement of Gallo's 1st Trio Sonata. It was used by Igor Stravinsky as a basis of the first movement (Sinfonia) of his Neo Classical Ballet Pulcinella. The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts. This is the original music he used as the basis of the Sinfonia. But even though Stravinsky used Pergolesi's melodies and bass lines with little change, he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications.Arranged double reed trio (ob.,c.a. and bsn. with alternative oboe 2 for cor anglais.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845169 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Classical,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #6293581. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845169). Die Ehres Gottes aus der Natur (The Glory of God in Nature) was composed by the Master, L. van Beethoven. It is the fourth of the Sechs Lieder (Six Songs), published in 1803, which foreshadowed the Art Songs of the Romantic Era. Originally for Voice and Piano, I have arranged it for Instrumental Quartet. My arrangement stays true to Beethoven's intent to capture the passion of the original text in the music. (The texts are all sacred poems by Gellert.) Without the presence of lyrics I needed to create musical interest and interpretation, so I realized inner voices and polyphony out of his original homophonic accompaniment. I added new shape to individual lines, altered phrasing, elaborated rhythms, and in true Beethoven style added more dynamic markings. The mood and meaning are now stunningly portrayed through music alone. Die Ehres Gottes is full of joyous majesty and wonder. It has been made into a popular anthem and hymn under the title The Heavens Are Telling.

This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet with a score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960's and is performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Some critics have called it astonishingly rich in detailed inspiration and from beginning to end, beautiful, melodious, original and characteristic. The ballet's first complete performance outside Russia took place in England in 1934. The first complete United States performance was on December 24, 1944, by the San Francisco Ballet. It was such an enormous success that the San Francisco Ballet has presented The Nutcracker every Christmas Eve and throughout the winter season, debuting new productions in 1944, 1954, 1967 and 2004. In Salt Lake City, it has been performed every year since 1963. The New York City Ballet gave its first annual performance in 1954. In addition to annual live stagings of the work, many productions have also been televised or released on home video. The Nutcracker continues to be one of Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions and contains some of his most memorable works. Tchaikovsky made a selection of eight of the numbers from the ballet before the ballet's December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, and is intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on March 19, 1892. The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the March for a Brass Octet, consisting of 4 Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the March, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the Russian Dance as well. Scheduling the March followed by the Russian Dance would be a very satisfying addition to any concert or recital. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. Ghost Dances (Wounded Knee, 1890) for Brass BandOriginally Composed by Roland Barrett, Arranged by Benjamin LauInspired by the tragic story of the Lakota Sioux massacre at Wounded Knee in 1890, Roland Barrett's original work features a soft and peaceful entry, followed by aleatoric sections with musical fragments to convey the imagery of a Sioux ghost dance, and a menacing, ferocious section with high speed and intensity to keep the audience on their toes. This brilliant and inspiring work has been adapted for brass band by BenthovenMusic. This arrangement still captures the same peaceful and free opening along with the rhythmic intensity and drive of the original but with a reduced percussion section and more brass.
