Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813174 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Christmas,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 20 pages. Regis Bookshar #6130561. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813174). Euphonium Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, And the Glory of the Lord, from George Frideric Handel's world-famous oratorio, Messiah, would be an excellent addition to any music library. Originally written for a four-part chorus accompanied by a small orchestra, this selection has been arranged for 5 Euphoniums, by Regis Bookshar, without losing any of the vitality of the original version. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement will entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come. It is perfect for Christmas concerts and church services, is suitable for high school, college and professional performers and is one of my all-time favorite arrangements. Included are a score and a complete set of parts, written in Bass Clef (20 pages). Also available is a version written in Treble Clef if you would prefer. Handel's original version is written in the key of Concert G, as is this version, but other versions are also available for a variety of instrumental ensembles, both in the key of Concert G and also in the key of Concert F, to make it a little easier for some younger performers. However, this arrangement may still prove to be a challenge for some players. If you are considering having an organist or other keyboard player perform with this selection, I would suggest that you purchase this version in Concert G rather than the one in Concert F. Other selections from Handel's Messiah are also available, as are numerous other arrangements in a variety of styles. I would encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. You may find something else which might interest you as well. I'm certain that students and audiences will definitely enjoy this arrangement.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956656 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. 8 pages. C Melville-Mason #6505735. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956656). This piece is taken from the second set of Slavonic Dances, Opus 72, written by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák in 1886. His original set, Opus 48, had proved to be something of a breakthrough work, finally establishing Dvořák’s reputation well beyond his native land. The dances are original melodies, inspired by, and drawing on, the character of traditional national dances – not, as is sometimes thought, works based on existing folk tunes, as was the fashion among composers at around that time.  Both sets of Slavonic Dances were originally written for piano 4 hands but, in response to a request from his publisher, the composer produced orchestrated versions shortly afterwards. This is an arrangement for semi-flexible mixed woodwind quartet of 2 flutes, oboe and either B-flat clarinet or bassoon.  The piece makes a charming addition to general repertoire but could also be used as part of a programme of light background music at a wedding or function.

This selection has been arranged to keep all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (43 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet with a score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960's and is performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Some critics have called it astonishingly rich in detailed inspiration and from beginning to end, beautiful, melodious, original and characteristic. The ballet's first complete performance outside Russia took place in England in 1934. The first complete United States performance was on December 24, 1944, by the San Francisco Ballet. It was such an enormous success that the San Francisco Ballet has presented The Nutcracker every Christmas Eve and throughout the winter season, debuting new productions in 1944, 1954, 1967 and 2004. In Salt Lake City, it has been performed every year since 1963. The New York City Ballet gave its first annual performance in 1954. In addition to annual live stagings of the work, many productions have also been televised or released on home video. The Nutcracker continues to be one of Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions and contains some of his most memorable works. Tchaikovsky made a selection of eight of the numbers from the ballet before the ballet's December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, and is intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on March 19, 1892. The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the March for a Violin Octet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the March, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the Russian Dance as well. Scheduling the March followed by the Russian Dance would be a very satisfying addition to any concert or recital. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. Bassoon,Clarinet,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1042667 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 6 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #647444. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1042667). This easy arrangement for clarinet and bassoon duet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students because of the ease imposed on the piece. It is often performed at wedding ceremonies slowly and reverently, challenging the effect suggested by Bach in his original score for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings, and continuous bass. This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works.

Octavo. 4 pages. Scott S. Stewart #6454731. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.955858). Ebben? Ne andrò lontana (Well then, I’ll go far away) is the aria sung by Wally when she decides to leave her home forever in the opera La Wally (1892).  Composer Alfredo Catalani originally created the aria as Chanson Groënlandaise in 1878 and later incorporated it into his opera.  The aria was also featured in the French thriller Diva (1981).  It has been arranged for 4-part SATB ensemble to be performed a cappella.  This arrangement of an operatic masterpiece was created to make ‘Opera’ accessible to wider audiences for various reasons (instructive, educational purposes; and performance familiarity to/for a larger population).  The original melody and harmonies are used.  It retains the original foreign language text.  This arrangement is an excellent tool for introducing ‘Opera’ music in the classroom, and programming diversity in the concert hall.  Performance time: 2:21+-

Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.768520 Composed by Victor Ewald. Arranged by Roar Kvam. 20th Century. 204 pages. KVAMusic Edition #6424311. Published by KVAMusic Edition (A0.768520). Victor Ewald 27 November 1860 - 16 April 1935 Ewald was a Russian composer of music, mainly for conical brass instruments. He was born in Saint Petersburg and died in Leningrad. He also collected and published Russian folk songs. Ewald’s professional life, like that of many of his musical contemporaries, was in an entirely different field; that of a civil engineer, in which he excelled, being appointed in 1900 as professor and manager of the Faculty of Construction Materials at the Institute of Civil Engineers. Brass players however are indebted to him for something very different – a series of quintets which have become a staple of the repertoire and which represent almost the only, and certainly the most extended examples of original literature in the Romantic style. Ewald’s formal musical training began in 1872 when he enrolled at the St Petersburg Conservatory at the age of twelve. Founded in 1861 by Anton Rubenstein, this institution was the first of its kind in Russia and it was here that Ewald received lessons in cornet, piano, horn, cello, harmony and composition. As an adult he worked alongside fellow musical nationalists known collectively as the Mighty Handful-Borodin, Mily Balakirev, CeÌsar Cui, Modest Mussorgsky and the most famous of all, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. All of these men had day jobs in non-musical fields.Ewald’s contributions as a composer reflected an abiding love for brass instruments for which he wrote his quintets scored originally for two cornets, alto horn, baritone horn and tuba. I've edited these four quartets using Ewald's original instrumentation, but there are also separate substitute parts for the modern brass quintet (2 trumpets, horn in F, trombone and tuba). String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845175 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Classical,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 24 pages. Phil Beaman #6293717. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845175). Busslied (Penance) was composed by the Master, L. van Beethoven. It is the sixth of the Sechs Lieder (Six Songs), published in 1803, which foreshadowed the Art Songs of the Romantic Era. Originally for Voice and Piano, I have arranged it for Instrumental Quartet. My arrangement stays true to Beethoven's intent to capture the passion of the original text in the music. (The texts are all sacred poems by Gellert.) Without the presence of lyrics I needed to create musical interest and interpretation, so I realized inner voices and polyphony out of his original homophonic accompaniment. I added new shape to individual lines, altered phrasing, elaborated rhythms, and in true Beethoven style added more dynamic markings. The mood and meaning are now stunningly portrayed through music alone. Busslied is in three sections; Penance, the Impassioned Plea, and Acceptance and Absolution. Each section has a different key, a different tempo, and a different style. The final section has some virtuosic extended runs for some instruments.
