Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1398326 By The Platters. By Jerome Kern and Otto Harbach. Arranged by Martyn Clive Johnson (aka Martycli Piano Guy). 20th Century,Film/TV,Jazz,Pop,Standards. Score. 7 pages. Martyn Johnson #981602. Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1398326). This tune was written in 1933 by Jerome Kern with words by Otto Harbach for the musical 'Robera'. It has been recorded by so many great artists but perhaps most famously by 'The Platters'. I have arranged it for piano in the key of F which and then modulated into Ab second time round. It has further key changes within the tune during the bridge. I have reharmonised it significantly to give it a jazz feel. I have given it a semi-quaver/sixteenth note feel rather than a swing beat which I felt suited it as a ballad. Please note it is a piano solo and doesn't include the bass line that is on my YouTube recording. I write all my arrangements as piano solos first so it sounds perfect as such. I don't include pedal markings, fingerings or dynamics and prefer to leave this to the discretion of the individual pianist as you will get no two piano teachers to agree on these issues. It's a wonderful tune and I hope you have as much fun playing my arrangement as I had writing it.
