Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1210354 Composed by Thomas Newman. Arranged by Robert Luke Thompson. Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Brass Band. 33 pages. Monkspath Music #808128. Published by Monkspath Music (A0.1210354). The Night Window is a hauntingly beautiful instrumental piece that features in Sam Mendes’ World War I film, 1917. Composed by Thomas Newman, the score is a masterpiece of orchestration that captures the emotional intensity of war. This arrangment for Brass Band will work perfectly in any film music concert, or even a Remembrance related event. The Night Window is featured in a pivotal scene where the film's protagonist, Lance Corporal Schofield, takes refuge in an abandoned house during a tense night-time sequence. As Schofield takes a moment to rest and recover from his harrowing journey, he notices a window covered in beautiful stained glass that casts an ethereal glow over the room. The haunting melody of The Night Window begins to play as Schofield reflects on his experiences and contemplates the task ahead of him – saving the lives of sixteen-hundred men. As the title suggests, the music conveys the image of a night scene. The piece begins softly, with a gentle motif that evokes the stillness of the night. As the piece progresses, the music gradually builds in intensity and texture, whilst the camera slowly zooms in on the window, highlighting its beauty and fragility. The piece reaches its climax as Schofield gazes out of the window, and the camera pulls back to reveal the ruins of a once-beautiful town, now ravaged by war. The Night Window perfectly captures the sense of loss and devastation that war brings, while also conveying a glimmer of hope and beauty amid the darkness. A powerful piece of music that perfectly captures the emotions and themes of 1917. Its haunting beauty and evocative melodies make it a standout track in the film's score, and a piece that will linger in the listener's mind long after the credits have rolled. For further pieces, view the Monkspath Music catalogue and click here!

Small Ensemble Flute,Piano,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889815 Composed by Ginny Saltzman (Bethlehem Angel) and The First Noel - Traditional. Christmas. Score and parts. 9 pages. Ginny's House of Music #4362443. Published by Ginny's House of Music (A0.889815). *Bethlehem Angel and The First Noel This is a very beautifully flowing presentation which includes both an original work by this composer entitled Bethlehem Angel and an arrangement of The First Noel. It includes scriptures and lyrics. It was written for flute, guitar, voice, and piano accompaniment  on Intermediate Level.  It is based on the scriptures Luke 2: 8-11 --- And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord and Matthew 2:1-10 ----  Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, art not the least among the princes of Judea: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1335323 Composed by Kendra Brown. 21st Century. 26 pages. Kendra Brown #921147. Published by Kendra Brown (A0.1335323). The main theme is inspired by the introduction of the piece. Delicate and child-like. The ostinato in the beginning of the piece that double reeds have displays the feeling of a “child-like†waltz. The pattern is in 3 but it should be played as if it is in 6/8, with emphasis on beats 1 and 3. There should be weight to the sound but it should not be heavy. Sometimes in life, (as both teens and adults) we tend to get caught up in stress or worries and we forget to take a break, relax and destress a little. This piece reminds us to go back to our childlike roots. As the theme in Section A expands, it takes a turn in Section B where the tempo picks up. (Players are encouraged to have as much fun as they can with this part.) At and after the exposed bassoon part at m.50, in the words of my old high school band director, “Let it rip potato chip!†(Meaning give it all you’ve got and have fun). Brass are encouraged to play the dynamics as written in this section but listen to each other. Section C is a bridge to the 7/8 in Section D. Section D, reintroduces the theme in the form of a trumpet solo while brass and some of the woodwinds have the ostinato. Be careful euphonium & tuba because you’re missing a beat on purpose! Section E is the “Medley†of all the parts that were previously played with only tuba playing in the relative minor so it sticks out at the bottom of the ensemble. This is symbolic of the piece itself, showing that the pressures of life can be overcome by keeping a good attitude and persevering through those tough times that you encounter. Section F is another “bridge†beginning with the flute solo reiterating the theme one last time before the “descent and climb†(starting at m.137) to the final destination: Section G. Section G should be played like an overture. Full and with joy and a “coming alive-ness†to it therefore bringing life to the once dead emotions that once were. The ending with the oboe/bassoon duet should be played as quietly as possible & as in tune as possible.

Brass Quintet Baritone Horn TC,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1414074 By Will Corbin. By Johann Strauss. Arranged by Will Corbin. March. 11 pages. Will Corbin #995844. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1414074). Johann Strauss Sr. wrote this catchy celebratory march in 1848, a month after the Count Josef Radetzky won a now long-forgotten victory in the first Italian war for independence from the Austrian Empire; Radetzky had been a leading light of the Austro-Hungarian army throughout the first half of the 19th century. It was an immediate hit, and it remains so in Austria. These days it's kind of an unofficial national anthem that involves audience participation (clapping and stomping in the appropriate loud passages) and is kind of required content in any concert program, frequently as an encore. In the U.S., it's an Oktoberfest standby. My first exposure to Radetzky came when the Stadtmusik Feldkirch, a community band, was kind enough to allow an American ex-pat to join its ranks for the couple of years we lived there. Feldkirch is a lovely medieval town in far western Austria; it borders directly on Liechtenstein. I played the tenorhorn, which is the alias for a baritone or euphonium over there.

Her earliest memory was watching her mother play classical piano. She began piano lessons at the age of 8, and started composing shortly thereafter.Stevens approaches her compositions as an artist. She paints musical portraits of the things that bring meaning to life: relationship to living things, emotional healing, discovering what matters most and honoring that as best we are able. Stevens' beautiful piano-based music aligns one with their own heart. Although some of her music can be described as New Age, her roots are heavily based in classical and jazz. Her study of classical composition makes her music more complex than some New Age music. Her music has been likened to the impressionistic composers such as Claude Debussy. Sydney's formal training is also reflected in her ability to compose for orchestral instruments. Her latest release, Cycles of Life, was solely recorded and produced by Sydney, programming all of the virtual instruments.Sydney has a great love for jazz. Keith Jarrett was an influence on her with his innovative and improvisational piano recordings and performances. She was particularly impressed with the freedom of style he portrayed in his performances. Bill Evans was something Sydney heard played as a young child. Where her mother was a classical pianist, her father was a jazz pianist. Perhaps that's why some of Sydney’s music can be described as a crossover between classical and jazz--remnants from those early years. Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins were big inspirations for Sydney's songwriting. She was especially drawn to the deeply emotional lyrics in many of their songs.Cycles of Life, the title track from Sydney's current release, was composed for her late step dad. The song is about the cycle of birth and death: Cycles of life go on, yet we carry all that we've known and loved through the ages. Time, another track on Sydney's current release, is a song about how time passes more quickly when we are doing something we cherish. Brian's Song, inspired by the loss of her father-in-law, reflects: All that really matters is the way we fill our heart, and the ways that it has loved. Dawn, a track from Sydney's album Seasons, is a beautiful piano-based instrumental with light string background. It portrays that very peaceful hour as the sun slowly lights up the world -- the hour of dawn.Sydney is a poet. She sees the world through a heart that feels the joy and sorrow of the world and those she meets. Her gift is the ability to transfer that emotion into music. Listening to her music is like taking a journey. She delves into depths of emotion, often taking the listener to places that can be difficult to go without the comfort of a beautiful song to.
