C Instrument - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1146309 By M. Ryan Taylor. By M. Ryan Taylor and Michael Young (Words). Arranged by M. Ryan Taylor. Christian,Christmas,Classical,Contemporary,Folk. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. Vocal Works #746528. Published by Vocal Works (A0.1146309). The reason for the season comes wrapped in swaddling clothes, Not masked in pretty paper, or tied with fancy bows. The reason for the season comes from the humble stall, And not with lights or pressing crowds, like in a shopping mall. The reason for the season speaks to the quiet throng, Who set aside all pride of heart to hear the angel’s song. The reason for the season came here to show the way, Come celebrate by offering you heart to him to day. The reason for the season comes though no place was found, And not unto a palace hall with servants hovering round. The reason for the season, first sung by angel choir, Still heralds at this holy time to kindle and inspire. The reason for the season comes in this baby boy, Who soon will reign a mighty king, as millions shout for joy. The reason for the season came here to show the way, Come celebrate by offering you heart to him to day.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano,Soprano Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533210 Composed by Ali Ben Sou Alle. Arranged by Paul Wehage. Concert,Folk,Holiday,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 17 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #1986205. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533210). One of the most enigmatic figures in the history of the Saxophone, Ali Ben Sou Alle (c was born in 1820 in Arras, France. After receiving his first prize in Clarinet at the Paris Conservatory in 1844. he served as the director of music of The French Marine Band in Senegal, and then was named first clarinet solo at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. However, after the Revolution of 1848, Soualle was forced to flee France to England where he settled in London, playing in the Orchestra of the Queen's Theatre. His songs and piano pieces were published in London. While in London, Soualle met another exiled French musician, Louis Antoine Jullien, who conducted a light music series in London. Jullien encouraged Soualle to take up the saxophone, and after modifying the instrument by adding a single octave mechanism (the modern system used today) and keys for the lower register, Soualle became known as a virtuoso and began touring performing solo recitals (or mono-concerts, as they were called at the time). He performed in all the European capitals and then traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Manilla, Java, through China and then to India where he finally settled in Mysore, becoming the director of the Royal Music for the Maharadjah. It was during this period that he converted to Islam and changed his nmae to Ali ben Sou Alle (or Ali, son of Soualle). He subsequently travaled to Ile Maurice, to French Polynesia, the Cap of Natal and the Cap of Good Hope. All of these voyages were subjects of musical works which Soualle entitled Souvenirs de... and may perhaps have been part of a collection known as The Royal Album which was presented to the Prince of Wales after a royal concert. Soualle returned to Mysore in 1858 and was almost killed in the Indian Revolution. Around 1860, Soualle returned to France for health reasons and began publishing his own music. On March 27 1865, he performed a command performance for the Emperor Napoleon III at the Tuileries Palace in the presence of the entire Imperial Family. After 1865, nothing more is known about him. Divertissement sur Une Ballade Irlandaise begins with a lyric introduction in bel canto style. The Irish Ballade is named in the score as « My Lodging is on the Cold Ground », but is sometimes known as « Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms » and is followed by a brilliant variation. After an ornamented modal passage in 6/8, the allemande theme is presented first in a moderate tempo, and then in a more rapid variant which uses « cross string » figerations similar to those used by fiddlers.

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1261509 Composed by Antonio Jiménez Manjón. Arranged by Rui Namora. 19th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Individual part. 11 pages. Rui Namora #854571. Published by Rui Namora (A0.1261509). This beautiful étude, originally written for the 11-string guitar (7+4) that Antonio Manjón used, is practically unknown today. Although it was composed as an étude for this instrument, this arrangement for the 6-string guitar doesn't fail to capture its beauty. The 7-string version is faithful to the original, regarding the bass notes. This set includes a new engraving of the original in double staff and both 6 and 7 string guitar standard notation. Antonio Jimenéz Manjón (1866-1919)Antonio Jiménez Manjón was a Spanish guitarist born in 1866 in the Andalusian city of Villacarillo. Blind from an early age, he began his musical career at the age of twelve, performing in Spain and Portugal, where he played for the Portuguese King Fernando II.Soon after, the young Antonio traveled to Paris alone, where he studied violin at the Conservatory while pursuing his guitar career. He was surrounded by musicians such as Gounod, Saint-Saëns, and Sarasate. In 1887, Manjón returned to his home country and was invited by the Spanish monarchs to perform in the Royal Palace. During those years, he toured Europe with his Torres eleven-string guitar. In 1893, he crossed the Atlantic to the Americas, settling in Buenos Aires in 1902 after performing and teaching in several Latin American countries. In Argentina, he founded a conservatory and published his work Escuela de Guitarra.Antonio Jiménez Manjón passed away in 1919 in Buenos Aires.ISMN 979-0-9007524-5-1

Her earliest memory was watching her mother play classical piano. She began piano lessons at the age of 8, and started composing shortly thereafter.Stevens approaches her compositions as an artist. She paints musical portraits of the things that bring meaning to life: relationship to living things, emotional healing, discovering what matters most and honoring that as best we are able. Stevens' beautiful piano-based music aligns one with their own heart. Although some of her music can be described as New Age, her roots are heavily based in classical and jazz. Her study of classical composition makes her music more complex than some New Age music. Her music has been likened to the impressionistic composers such as Claude Debussy. Sydney's formal training is also reflected in her ability to compose for orchestral instruments. Her latest release, Cycles of Life, was solely recorded and produced by Sydney, programming all of the virtual instruments.Sydney has a great love for jazz. Keith Jarrett was an influence on her with his innovative and improvisational piano recordings and performances. She was particularly impressed with the freedom of style he portrayed in his performances. Bill Evans was something Sydney heard played as a young child. Where her mother was a classical pianist, her father was a jazz pianist. Perhaps that's why some of Sydney’s music can be described as a crossover between classical and jazz--remnants from those early years. Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins were big inspirations for Sydney's songwriting. She was especially drawn to the deeply emotional lyrics in many of their songs.Cycles of Life, the title track from Sydney's current release, was composed for her late step dad. The song is about the cycle of birth and death: Cycles of life go on, yet we carry all that we've known and loved through the ages. Time, another track on Sydney's current release, is a song about how time passes more quickly when we are doing something we cherish. Brian's Song, inspired by the loss of her father-in-law, reflects: All that really matters is the way we fill our heart, and the ways that it has loved. Dawn, a track from Sydney's album Seasons, is a beautiful piano-based instrumental with light string background. It portrays that very peaceful hour as the sun slowly lights up the world -- the hour of dawn.Sydney is a poet. She sees the world through a heart that feels the joy and sorrow of the world and those she meets. Her gift is the ability to transfer that emotion into music. Listening to her music is like taking a journey. She delves into depths of emotion, often taking the listener to places that can be difficult to go without the comfort of a beautiful song to accompany them.

Percussion Ensemble Hand Percussion,Timpani - Digital Download SKU: A0.883793 Composed by Phil Lawrence. 20th Century,Christmas,Contemporary. Score and parts. 33 pages. Phillip Lawrence #6612425. Published by Phillip Lawrence (A0.883793). Christmas comes but once a year, but when it does for many it inspires memories and thoughts of loved one’s past and present and your own memories too of this time of year when you were young spending Christmas with your family and friends. It is hopelessly nostalgic and at Christmas I revel in it’s nostalgia for me. So I’ve composed a work for brass firstly dedicated to a great man of the brass band from Liverpool Bob Dean (Sailors Chapel, ex Fodens, Camel Lairds and great pal of Jim Scott) and I studied under his baton at BR Edge Hill and with his help I moved on to the famous Manchester CWS Band. Us bander’s love a good tune and a tune that moves us too, I’ve been told by many who have played this that it ticks those boxes. So, however you celebrate this Christmas, I hope this will inspire memories?

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1234470 By a-ha. By Magne Furuholmne, Morton Harket, and Pal Waaktaar. Arranged by Laura Gorden. Hip-Hop,Instructional,Pop,R & B,Soul. Score and Parts. 16 pages. Laura Gorden #829975. Published by Laura Gorden (A0.1234470). An arrangement of the hit song Take on Me as recorded by a-ha for string orchestra. The arrangement includes the score and parts around Grade Level 2 1/2. This score provides educational opportunities for young orchestras with specific concepts such as syncopated rhythms, transitioning from pizzacato to arco and back within short rests, bow changes over a long single note, and ensemble bowing decisions. There is no shifting for vln, vla or cello, however, small shifting for bass up to a 'high d' on the G string.  This arrangement is a shorter version than the original song and has a cheesy end with the melody plucked across all strings. The tempo is marked up a bit to match the style of the original, but please choose a tempo to best suite your orchestra. Hope you enjoy!

Brass Ensemble,Trombone Trio Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811132 Composed by Brian Pappal. Contemporary. Score and parts. 13 pages. Gordon Cherry #5316249. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.811132). Here is a description of the work IN MEMORIAM by composer Brian Pappal. In Memoriam: A Chorale After Bruckner was composed in memory of Murray Crewe, former Bass Trombonist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Murray was my private trombone teacher at Duquesne University where he maintained a large studio of private trombone students and directed the trombone choir. During my lessons with him and in trombone choir rehearsals, Murray was contagiously positive and encouraging with a sense of humor all his own. He was also an artist of immense depth and sensitivity who daily sought to create and encounter moments of beauty in the world. Some of my greatest musical memories of Murray are of his leading the trombone choir in playing transcriptions of Brucknerâ??s choral motets. There are obvious parallels between the voice and the trombone, and Murrayâ??s artistry combined with Brucknerâ??s profound compositions created a deeply moving experience for me as a young musician. I wrote this piece with those memories in my mind. The sonorities are intentionally vocal, and performance of the piece should be approached in a similarly sustained and expressive style. The first trombone part remains rather high without rest; it may be played by either a tenor or alto trombone depending on player preference.

Score and Parts. 32 pages. Bandapalooza #864582. Published by Bandapalooza (A0.1272298). Broad River Blues is an easy level jazz enssmble blues chart in Bb. I wrote this chart for the Madison County (GA) Middle School Jazz Band a couple of years ago and named it after the river that I would cross each morning as I entered that county on my way to the school from home. All rhythm section parts are fully notated in this chart, but these serve as suggestions and tools for building improvisation and comping skills. The same can be said for the written solos for tenor sax, trumpet, and trombone. Each solo section can easily be opened / extended for improvisation. I hope you and your young jazz ensemble enjoy Broad River Blues!
