Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1476050 Composed by Kieran Brennan and Paul Brennan. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Film/TV,Multicultural,New Age,World. 38 pages. John Ivor Holland #1053600. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1476050). Theme from Harry's Game is a 1982 song by Clannad commissioned as the theme for 'Harry's Game', a Yorkshire Television miniseries adapted from a 1975 novel set in The Troubles in Northern Ireland. It was released as a single in October 1982 and became a surprise hit, reaching number 5 in the UK Singles Chart the following month and number 2 in the Irish Singles Chart. The song is to date the only British hit single ever to have been sung entirely in Irish. The chorus Fol lol the doh fol the day, Fol the doh fol the day, is ancient Irish mouth-music, known as Portaireacht, which is common in traditional music. The song won an Ivor Novello award, and launched Clannad's global career. It has since appeared in several Hollywood movies, most notably 'Patriot Games', in which an IRA member, played by Patrick Bergin, is seen watching the music video for the song on his television. Available for concert bands worldwide for the first time, this haunting piece would provide a contrasting interlude in a programme of film and television music and features passages for cor anglais, which are cued for smaller ensembles.

This folksy arrangement is for solo voice (tenor), bass guitar, pipes (uillean or Northumbrian), fiddle, flute, and accordion. A lyric sheet is included on the last page.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767553 Composed by Mike Lyons. Contemporary,Standards. 56 pages. Lyons Music Services #5827839. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767553). This brand-new piece for wind quintet came about through the coronavirus lockdown and my observations of our UK politicians and how they behaved (One rule for them...) In terms of the music, each line is related to other lines through patterns of 5, 7 or 9 beats (or half beats). Each repetition of the pattern starts with all the instruments in that particular group playing on the first beat. As the music progresses and develops, motifs appear out of the combinations of these beats with each other. Gradually, these patterns and motifs develop melodies which then form the backbone of the piece. The first section (I hesitate to use the term movement) labelled Plotting develops a character of wiliness. It represents, in its twisting strands, the plotting of politicians to aggrandise themselves. The bottom 3 parts form an 'undercurrent' to the music as the 5,7 and 9 beat counts overlap and process. The flute and oboe, meanwhile, generate the first melodic strand - which becomes important in the later movements. The opening quaver patterns are passed around the whole ensemble, keeping the rhythmic pulse going. It slips between the anchoring notes of the lower 3 parts, as well as being essential to the development of the flute and oboe melodic material and stopping the bassoon part being too boring! The long winding, rising and falling line on the oboe and flute is deliberately ambiguous in its tonality, leading one to feel it strives upwards, but then loses its way. The frequent dissonances as this line crosses itself in the other parts represents the effect of all the plotting on ordinary people. Before letter B, there are a couple of brief hints of Dies Irae, but I didn’t want that idea to dominate too much. After B and into C, we get the day-to-day chitchat in Westminster, with interjections from many voices proclaiming their message, trying to persuade their colleagues and just leading to confusion and tonal extremism. From letter C to the end of the section is an extended accel/stretto as the discussion gets more heated. Section 2 is titled Scheming. The tempo is faster than the previous section, but the pace is slower. More motives have formed and developed organically out of the rhythm and pitch patterns. The 5/7/9 cross rhythms are now at double speed, giving a fiercer drive to the music. The bassoon and horn, for now, adhere to the longer pulse of the first section, providing something of a harmonic underpinning. At bar 101, the long but now slightly broken narrative line of the first movement returns in modified form. This now provides a backdrop for the rhythmic bartering and ‘back and forth’ of the political day. The section reaches a climax as the political bickering becomes rowdier. Section 3 begins in a relatively happy mood. The bassoon has a jolly capering little motif, later taken up by other members of the ensemble. There are hints of English folk tune-ness in the resulting conversation, perhaps emphasised by the overlays of this pleasant melody from letter D. Letter E is a ‘turning point’ as all the rhythmic pulses finally align again. This is the first time all five parts have played on the same beat since the opening. At Letter G, a pulsing drone is added to the mix, using the quaver version of the pulse. Perhaps representing the soring of politicians. There is a parallel drone added at letter H, these drones use the 5 (bassoon) and 7 (horn) beat pulses. The result is a solid underpinning of the rhythmic and melodic ideas in the upper 3 parts. After letter I comes a reprise of the spritely bassoon motif with dissonant harmonies as the discussion becomes more heated. The little semiquaver figures have the rhythm Mr. Speaker as members of the house shout for attention. In the repeat bars, we hear the Speaker shout Order! Letter J provides an altered reprise of the begi.

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Ukulele,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.569887 By LeAnn Rimes. By Johnny Marks. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Children,Christmas,Contemporary,Country,Rock. Score and parts. 41 pages. Sharon Wilson #6614265. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.569887). NOTE: Beginning musicians (or those new to Handbells and Boomwhackers® ensemble playing) may find the Boomwhackers® part easier since it only contains quarter notes and rests without the syncopation of the Handbells. This sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. To aid in the learning and teaching of this song or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on the Boomwhackers® staff and score. Lyrics are provided on the grand staff for sing along enjoyment or when using this arrangement as the accompaniment for a unison choir. In addition, a complete set of scores for 4 ringers and 4 whackers is provided. Though there are multiple combinations for the number of ringers and whackers needed for any given performance, this extra set of scores is specifically designed for 8 performers. For each ringer and whacker, the 1-staff score shows only the notes they are assigned. This alternate score format may be easier to sight-read since the only notes on the staff are the assigned notes allowing the player to focus on rhythm. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. All sharps and flats are displayed as well (shown in the key of C); a helpful reminder for beginning musicians. Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers® * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® (this would amplify the sound and allow more people to participate) * use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children's ministriesPermission is granted to make as many copies as needed for one family, church, school, or other performing group. Please purchase additional copies for multiple groups or organizations. Boomwhackers® is a registered trademark of Rhythm Band Instruments LLC. Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1334206 Composed by Danny Crocome. Arranged by Danny Crocome. 20th Century,Blues,Instructional,Jazz,Rock. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. Danny Crocome Music #920403. Published by Danny Crocome Music (A0.1334206). These series of 5 info sheets show guitarists 5 different ways of playing a traditional 12-bar blues sequence in the key of E Major, as follows:1. The classic 12-bar blues riff (used in many familiar blues/rock & roll tunes)2. A single note riff (built from the chord tones of the 12-bar blues pattern)3. An embellished version of the classic riff (using additional notes)4. A walking bassline variation of the pattern (with hammer-ons and passing notes)5. A walking bassline with syncopated upper register notes (as used by players like Stevie Ray Vaughan).Having a firm understanding of the underlying chord pattern of the blues, and the numerous variations guitarists can play over these changes, is essential for guitarists. This is an excellent resource for learning many of the tricks that blues guitarists use to get that distinctive blues sound and feel.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1252371 By Bruce Dudley. By Bruce Dudley. Arranged by Bruce Dudley. Hip-Hop,Pop,R & B. Score. 6 pages. Bruce Dudley #846341. Published by Bruce Dudley (A0.1252371). La Vida Neon (Etude #8) is in a contemporary Pop R&B style of the 2010s, such as the music of Justin Beiber, Selena Gomez, and others.  Maitain careful attention to the syncopation of the chords in the left hand, as well as to the melodic syncopations played with the right hand.  Mm 39-54 offer a reprieve from the relentless left hand rhythms played previously.  This section, harmonically and rhythmically, alings itself more with neo-soul music, such as that produced by D'Angelo, Lauren Hill, Robert Glasper, and others.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1343535 Composed by Romanos o Melodos. Arranged by Marilena Zlatanou. Classical. 8 pages. Marilena Zlatanou #929063. Published by Marilena Zlatanou (A0.1343535). BYZANTINE HYMN: TI IPERMAHO (To the defender army leader) arranged for SATB choir and pianoDuring a siege of Constantinople in the 6th cent., and while the regular army was engaged in fighting elsewhere, the city was attacked by Avars. The women, children and seniors left there fought as best they could, but finally realized that they had to give up. As a last resort, they carried the icon of Panayia (St. Mary, always referred to as all-holy in Greek), alongside the city walls, something that produced an unexpected effect: The besiegers left! For three days the citizens participated in liturgies addressed to Her, in a hymn called AKATHISTOS YMNOS (=Non-sitting Hymn), where this tropation is central, as it is most actively still used in the Greek Orthodox Church at many other relevant services. The first part is the original, in unison, or sung by a soloist. The piano part and the following choir arrangement are my contribution.duration: 3'33'' Phonetic transcription in the Latin alphabet is notated right below the original Greek text, English translation, and a key to Greek Pronunciation are provided on the title page. The mp3 file provided is exported from the sibelius file. For more information on the arranger, (member of TONO, the Norwegian copyright org.), please visit website www.zlatanou.netAs a Greek living in Norway for most of my adult life, and in my many years’ work as a conductor of a Norwegian choir specializing in Greek music (!), I have experienced the need to enrich the choir’s repertoire with both folk song- as well as other -arrangements of Greek music: This gave me the opportunity to share with our audiences some of the centuries-long musical heritage, as well as helping me make known to them some of the History behind the music of a country of such international historical influence in the past, and such a tourist magnet in our times.
