SKU: A0.724929

By David Cook. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Jonatas Paz. Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 9 pages. Jonatas Paz01 #333256. Published by Jonatas Paz01 (A0.724929).

Eleanor Rigby is a song by the Beatles, released on the 1966 album Revolver and as a 45 rpm single. It was written by Paul McCartney, and credited to Lennon–McCartney. Eleanor Rigby does not have a standard pop backing. None of the Beatles played instruments on it, though John Lennon and George Harrison did contribute harmony vocals. Like the earlier song Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby employs a classical string ensemble—in this case an octet of studio musicians, comprising four violins, two cellos, and two violas, all performing a score composed by producer George Martin. It is arranged here for standard Strings Quintet.

By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Score and parts. 6 pages. David McKeown #5311641. Published by David McKeown (A0.588234).

She’s Leaving Home first appeared on the Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The song was jointly written and performed by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. George Harrison and Ringo Starr took no part in the recording and there were no instrumental contributions by any of the Beatles. The song was inspired by a newspaper story about a missing teenage girl. The girl in question turned up safe and sound eventually, and had, by complete coincidence, met the Beatles at a TV recording a few year’s earlier.

This version of She’s Leaving Home is arranged as a duet for one Clarinet and one Trumpet. The full YouTube performance above is the Clarinet version of this arrangement.

Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance, with plenty of interest in both parts. The overall performance time is around three and a half minutes.
