The words (and number) of Psalm 34 inspired a joyful tune in ¾ time, rendered here in a simple piano arrangement, which may be suitable for congregational worship (though it does feature a middle-eight and an instrumental verse since Paul tries to avoid the typical verse-chorus-verse-chorus format).

Liberator is from a collection of Psalm-based songs composed by Paul K Heatley while participating in an artist residency program run by Fuller Seminary for which Paul was sponsored by his local church in Pasadena, CA. The song is a setting of the Magnificat from Luke's gospel with words taken from The Voice, a New Testament translation created with artists and musicians in mind. Once Paul had decided to use this translation, the music seemed to flow naturally from the words, resulting in a classical-style piece with a format very like a modern song (it even has a middle-eight, though it's in a different key). Mary's prophetic song is arranged here for SATB with a strong soprano part, but can also be sung as a soprano solo.

Acoustic Acrostic is from a collection of Psalm-based songs composed by Paul K Heatley while participating in an artist residency program run by Fuller Seminary for which Paul was sponsored by his local church in Pasadena, CA. The title refers to the fact that Psalm 111 was originally written as an acrostic poem using successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet at the beginning of each line. Paul decided to apply that concept to his musical adaptation of the English text - and thought he might as well make it rhyme too! The music owes something to Pachelbel's Canon and this simple arrangement, designed to sung by two alternating voices, could well be used in a liturgical setting.

The tenor part takes the lead vocal for most of the song but, in true Heatley style, everyone gets to sing most of the words in the chorus and, to a lesser extent, in the final verse - the title of the song is also prominent in the intro and outro. Paul is the founder and original director of London-based acapella pop choir Kitsch in Sync.

As a huge Pet Shop Boys fan since the 80s, Paul Heatley really put his Heart into this vocal arrangement inspired by their 1987 cover of the classic Elvis number Always On My Mind. Since the synth pop duo recorded this song as a tribute to the King, Elvis is briefly in the building here to croon a false ending before the tempo picks up again for a punchy finish. Paul created this arrangement for Kitsch in Sync, the London-based A Cappella pop choir he founded, and the group would usually swap out the solo tenor in humorous fashion for the slow section - if your 'Elvis' really milks it the audience should start applauding before your 'Neil' jumps back in!
